I’m so happy to meet you! I’m Tracy Dawn Brewer and I almost always use my middle name. Growing up in Appalachia (Southeastern Ohio to be precise) my mother always used my middle name. Today, I live in Canton, Ohio with my husband Bryan. We both grew up in the same county but reunited after 25 years apart! Our paths took similar circumstances and when we married after 2 years of dating, we blended his 3 sons with my 3 daughters and now we celebrate 4 grandchildren from one corner of the US to the other! We’re empty nesters that filled our home with 4 dogs, 4 cats and just as many Koi fish.

My collection “Life’s a Party” is a celebration of everything happy, even though we may not be there in person. 2020 taught us we have to be creative when it comes to keeping in touch with those we love. Bryan and I have to practice that daily. Our kids live in different states, as well as our grandkids. Our close family still reside in Appalachia. We are always finding ways to make celebrations special when we can’t be there in person but 2020 pushed everyone to experience what we do, all of the time! We are looking forward to getting back on the road (or air) to hug those special people in our lives and celebrate that accomplishment, in person!

Life’s a Party

Tracy Dawn Brewer

a Party grew from celebrations that were missed and Lheldife’sdistantly! We live far away from our families and in 2020,

our experiences were balanced out by other family members experiencing what we do during every celebration: creatively enjoying a moment from a distance. We are looking forward to inperson celebrations returning and as we find time to travel to see family; incorporating fun party patterns, colors, and themes. These sketches were brainstorms about the collection and the colors were based on a serene yet vibrant party atmosphere for all ages!

Tracy Dawn Brewer I worked on over 30 designs and narrowed it down to sixteen patterns for the final collection.

One of my hero prints shows illustrations of children celebrating with various treats. The background has the paper crown motif as a line drawing to add texture.

I love the idea of making ribbon curls so adding them to the collection made sense! Adding hands making them made it personal too!

Ribbon curls is the 2nd Hero Print

This illustration could be used alone or in a repeating pattern and as a line drawing, as shown.

Tracy Dawn Brewer Here I used the peach tassel pattern, the straw pattern, the alphabet pattern, paper crown pattern and the blue tassel pattern to create a Lone Star Quilt pattern and mocking up a quilt that is finished with a blue tassel border and the paper crown backing.

The Lone Star Pattern is a free PDF download pattern on Pattern Pile.

Other party components that make up some of the patterns in the collection can be highlighted, like the favors!

Blender Patterns The supporting designs of the Life’s a Party collection!

Tracy Dawn Brewer Some of the hero illustrations made fun smaller repeats in this collection and can be swapped out for others!

The elements can be resized and reconfigured to support the collection in many ways.

Sometimes it was fun to give the images a darker outline versus the softer complimenting color outline, as shown.

There are 2 edge or border prints in the collection, which are perfect for clothing accents, table cloths, etc.
