Crew: Morgan:
This year I was the stage manager for both the film and public relations crews. However, my primary focus was on the film crew because time was of the essence To begin with, we split up the three new movies we had to add to the film. Those were Silence of the Lambs, The Ring, and My Bloody Valentine. I was in charge of locating the trailer for The Ring (Samara Morgan). I then assigned my other two crew members to the remaining films. Our initial plan was to use a film editing service Aaliyah was familiar with, but Mrs. Rice suggested we use WeVideo since the film crew in 2021 used this service and it is available to all CCS students as well. However, WeVideo is not the best video editing service It can be slow sometimes, but the drawback that posed the most difficulty was the lack of ability to collaborate on projects. Unfortunately, WeVideo projects cannot be shared and worked on by multiple people at the same time with the free version. Therefore, only one person could work on the project at once to have one central film that would be used as the final product. To combat this issue, I logged into Aaliyah’s account on my laptop and we both edited sections of it under her account. This way we could both make edits (though not simultaneously) Another way we worked to collaborate was through our Google folders They were organized and subdivided into specific folders that correlated with all the types of media we would need. For example, after screen recording trailers for the slasher films, we added them to a specific folder. We did the same thing with the stock photos/videos. As soon as the sound crew collected the theme songs for The Miner, Samara Morgan, and Hannibal Lecter, I downloaded them and added them to a new folder. All members of our film crew also got practice converting files to mp4s for the film and mp3s for sound effects During our initial edits, Aaliyah spearheaded the production. I provided the clips she needed and she spliced the 2021 film to fit our new clips. Once all the clips were in, we worked to add the transitions and match the audio to the stock photos/videos. Pretty soon our first draft was finished and we exported it to the folder and shared it so the cast could start recognizing their order and themes. Then our problems began to appear. The first thing we had to edit was the cast introductions at the end of the film. Aaliyah and I found the footage for the ending montage and Aaliyah edited it into our movie The next issue was static Most of the trailers had the static in the right place, but to keep the sound cues uniform across the film I copied the static clip from Halloween and pasted it into the spots after each of the new

trailers. This way the static was the perfect sound cue for the actors to begin their haunting during the themes Then we discovered that all the trailers from last year had gradually darkened for some unknown reason, so I went into the film crew’s drive from last year and re downloaded all of the trailers. Once I had all of them I replaced the trailers in our film with versions that could be seen. It was very time consuming, but I was able to finish it in one night. The updated version of the film was then exported to the drive. Our next issue came up in three of the trailers: Scream, Friday the 13th, and The Miner. By this time, Aaliyah and Joe had moved on to floating groups and helped primarily with the set In the three movies aforementioned, there were suggestive or sexual scenes we decided to cut out to keep the show “family friendly.” To do that I either dropped the audio and darkened the screen (in the case of the word “sex” in Scream) or cut out the scene, obtained the original trailer audio, cut out the scene, and replaced it with a different clip. The most difficult part was inserting a cut version of the audio to match up with the rest of the film. Finally, the last thing I had to do was go in and replace the names of Nathan and Hailey who were slated to play Pennywise and Annabelle respectively but were unable to fulfill their roles Fortunately, the two actors who played those characters last year were willing to take back up the role and we replaced their names in the end credit. The last and final thing I did with the film was download it on Mrs. Rice’s Chromebook and ensure we used the correct version. After that, I moved on to help with the curtains and covers for the fence.
Aaliyah:
The first thing I did was download the finished film from last year and import it into WeVideo We decided to keep the film under my WeVideo account, but Morgan edited it under my name too. Once we decided what to do, we split up the initial trailers and went to work. I found the My Bloody Valentine trailer along with its haunt clips. I also found The Ring footage for the haunt, using the original “cursed” film from the actual movie and screen recording it on YouTube. As for the actual film, I did a lot of tech stuff. I adjusted last year's film to fit in the new trailers for this year. I put each theme song of the specific movie over the trailer clips I also changed the curtain call names to this year's cast. One of the ideas for that was to cover the names with a black box and put new text over it. However, Mrs. Rice had found the original curtain call video without the text so we used that. I only needed to add the new trailers (The Ring, My Bloody Valentine, and Silence of the Lambs) and the haunting transitions. After the film was finished, I went into a floater group (although mistakes in the film were still found even after we finished and alterations had to be made). In the floater group(s), I helped put up the green screen on the fence and get a general idea of the set up of the slash zone. I also helped tie up the “ car wash” curtains/ hanging bloody curtains. Another thing I did was help put up the black curtain for Jeepers Creepers.

The first thing I did was find the clip for Silence of the Lambs and screen record it. The video came out as a .mov file so I downloaded it on my Chromebook and converted it to an mp4 file using cloud converter. Then I had to put the files in a google folder and rename them for organization purposes. I did the same for stock images and videos. I was mainly looking for stock photos instead of photos and videos but while I was looking around for stock photos I was able to find some absolutely fantastic images for My Bloody Valentine that had a moldy, grunge wall with “I LOVE YOU” written on it. There was also another image of a bloody heart with gauze in the background and it had blood stains on it. However, I quickly realized that these images were not free so they could not be used in the film. Looking for stock images on google creative commons, the results were extremely boring and lackluster, though I’m not sure what I was expecting from the public domain Eventually, I switched over to looking for stock videos and was able to find a video with bugs crawling around in a cocoon for Silence of the Lambs, every other new stock video was found in my absence. After this, I was moved to set crew as a floater. I worked with Cory to spray paint about 10 feet of the 16 foot wood poles, staple the fabric to them, and adjust the poles so that the fabric was more firm and taut.
