Thesecondrenderwasthefinalplanusedfortheshow.Thisconsistedof runningcords fromtheweightroomtopowerbothlightsandsoundweutilizedthepowerboxoutside nearthegreenhouse.Thedottedlinesonthepageisthecords,the“>”isusedtoshowthe directionofthefog,andx’swereusedtomarklightspots
ThePlan:Theoriginalplanwastoputtheblacklightontopofthefencebutthatdidnotwork outbecausethefencewouldnotonlyhavethescreenbutitwouldalsohavethecurtains.So eventuallywedecidedtocuttheblacklightcompletely.Weusedthepucklightstomarkwerethe bumpersaresoactorsdidn’ttripoverthem.Wealsousedfluorescenttapetomarktheline betweenactorsandaudience.
Forcory’slightingmyoriginalplanwastouse2ofthelittleredbox lights,thenwechangedtoasingularbrighterLEDlight.Thenwe cancledthatbecauseitwouldbebetterforNiktohavetheLEDthatI had.Soeventuallywewentwiththeoriginalplantousethesmallerredboxlights.Iplugged thoseintoapowerbarthatwasconnectedto2cords.Onebeingthelongredcordandtheother theshortorangecord.
Theonlylightsthatwereusedintheslashzonewerethe6pucklights.Thosepucklightstoldthe actorswherethebumpersontheconcreteweresonoonewouldtripoverthem.
Thelightsusedinthefinalplanforthemainentranceweretotwocoloredledfloodlights.One oflightwastapedtotheplatformwhiletheotherwassetatabouta45degreeangletowardsthe foggivingtheeffectofredfogwhichlookedgreatonthefinalcut.Onethingtochangeisthe riggingofthelights,useastrongertapeoradifferentmethodsuchaszip-ties,thelightonthe platformeventuallycamelooseandshinedintotheaudience.Fortheothersideofthesetthe lightusedwerethedimmergrayboxlightsthatchangeableLEDSthesewereusedtolightoneof thecharactersslightlyjusttogiveaneeriefeelingsomethingthatcould’vechangedwastheway thelightswerepositioned,theywereonthegroundbothangeledtowardsthecharacter.In hindsightwecouldhavepulledtolightfurtherbacktocastabiggershadowandtogiveadim spotlighteffecttotheAREAthathewasinandNOTjustthecharacter.Thefogmachineused didntgiveanyissuesbutwecouldputitonacontinuousmodeinsteadatimedonetopushout morefogareallygettheeffectweallwanted.Thefogmachineneedstobedrainedaftereach use.
Thedropcordsusedforthedoorentranceofthesetwas2shortorangecordsdaisychained connecttoapowerstripandathirdorangeshortonewasusedtogivepowertothefloodlighton thetoprailoftheplatform.ForthesetthatweusedtolightJEEPERS,weoneofourlongestred dropcordsdaisychainedtoalongaprox.15feetorangedropcordconnectedtoapowerstrip Poweringthetwosmallgraylights.
e fog machine is fairly simple to run
1. e first thing you want to do is get it hooked up and make sure all the lights are on on the remote.
2. en check to make sure that the top of the machine is clean(the way to check is to unscrew the top of the machine) if it is not clean take a cloth or paper towel and clean the surface of the vents(try to get in there really good to get all of it)
3. A ter that fill the top with ice, this will make the fog thicker and let the machine run longer because it prevents over heating
4. Next let it run idle to build up fog, check every 3 mins by pressing the GREEN button on the remote (this is the manual control mode) if it is ready you can either use the timed setting which is the YELLOW button the two dials at the top of the remote control that, the le t dial controls the interval which is in minutes and the right dial controls the duration of the smoke which is in seconds. e other option is the RED button which means continuous this mode will constantly push fog out of the machine, if it stops dont panic it only stops producing fog whenever it needs to build up more
Putting the macince on some sort of elevation gives better results and when emptying the water from the melted ice the easiest option is to pull out all of the plugs and tilt the machine backwards letting all the water drain out.
