FIRST RENDER

The plan The planning for the drop cords is that we hook the first red long cord is connected to the TS giving power to a strip which will be powering the fog machine and red lighting at the entrance there will be shower curtains over the door for effect that we will have to backlight. The fog machine will be on the inside of the gate hidden from the audience.

There will be a second drop cord connected to the power bar to provide power to the “stage” lights for the platform

Second Rendering

The second render was the final plan used for the show. This consisted of running cords from the weight room to power both lights and sound we utilized the power box outside near the greenhouse. The dotted lines on the page is the cords, the “>” is used to show the direction of the fog, and x’s were used to mark light spots.

The Plan: The original plan was to put the black light on top of the fence but that did not work out because the fence would not only have the screen but it would also have the curtains. So eventually we decided to cut the blacklight completely. We used the puck lights to mark were the bumpers are so actors didn’t trip over them. We also used fluorescent tape to mark the line between actors and audience.

Speciality Lighting Jeepers Lighting For cory’s lighting my original plan was to use 2 of the little red box lights, then we changed to a singular brighter LED light. Then we cancled that because it would be better for Nik to have the LED that I had. So eventually we went with the original plan to use the smaller red box lights. I plugged those into a power bar that was connected to 2 cords. One being the long red cord and the other the short orange cord.

Lights Used For Slash Zone The only lights that were used in the slash zone were the 6 puck lights. Those puck lights told the actors where the bumpers on the concrete were so no one would trip over them.

THE LIGHTS USED/REFLECTION The lights used in the final plan for the main entrance were to two colored led flood lights. One of light was taped to the platform while the other was set at about a 45 degree angle towards the fog giving the effect of red fog which looked great on the final cut. One thing to change is the rigging of the lights, use a stronger tape or a different method such as zip-ties, the light on the platform eventually came loose and shined into the audience. For the other side of the set the light used were the dimmer gray box lights that changeable LEDS these were used to light one of the characters slightly just to give an eerie feeling something that could’ve changed was the way the lights were positioned, they were on the ground both angeled towards the character. In hindsight we could have pulled to light further back to cast a bigger shadow and to give a dim spotlight effect to the AREA that he was in and NOT just the character. The fog machine used didnt give any issues but we could put it on a continuous mode instead a timed one to push out more fog a really get the effect we all wanted. The fog machine needs to be drained after each use.

Drop cords used The drop cords used for the door entrance of the set was 2 short orange cords daisy chained connect to a power strip and a third orange short one was used to give power to the flood light on the top rail of the platform. For the set that we used to light JEEPERS, we one of our longest red drop cords daisy chained to a long aprox. 15 feet orange drop cord connected to a power strip Powering the two small gray lights.

HOW TO WORK THE Mr. Cool FOG MACHINE (check out link) The fog machine is fairly simple to run.

1. The first thing you want to do is get it hooked up and make sure all the lights are on on the remote.

2. Then check to make sure that the top of the machine is clean(the way to check is to unscrew the top of the machine) if it is not clean take a cloth or paper towel and clean the surface of the vents(try to get in there really good to get all of it) 3. After that fill the top with ice, this will make the fog thicker and let the machine run longer because it prevents over heating.

4. Next let it run idle to build up fog, check every 3 mins by pressing the GREEN button on the remote (this is the manual control mode) if it is ready you can either use the timed setting which is the YELLOW button the two dials at the top of the remote control that, the left dial controls the interval which is in minutes and the right dial controls the duration of the smoke which is in seconds. The other option is the RED button which means continuous this mode will constantly push fog out of the machine, if it stops dont panic it only stops producing fog whenever it needs to build up more SOME POINTERS Putting the macince on some sort of elevation gives better results and when emptying the water from the melted ice the easiest option is to pull out all of the plugs and tilt the machine backwards letting all the water drain out.
