Overview

Reuben Owen: Life In The Dales charts the challenges the young entrepreneur in his third year in business as he blazes a trail for his tractor driving mates, who all choose to live and work in the wild and rugged hills they grew up on. The series introduces his new girlfriend Jess and is a celebration of a wholesome outdoor way of life and an antidote to the high-tech modern realities of most young people in 21st century Britain.

PR Overview REUBEN

tpr media was delighted to promote Rushlight Production’s series Reuben Owen: A Life In The Dales. We began working in March 2025, ahead of the series’ launch on 20 May on 5. We carried out a high-visibility campaign across TV and radio, broadsheets and mid-market tabloids working closely with Rushlight, Reuben’s agent Tatty Black and the 5 press team who commissioned a mid series feature which ran in the mailonline. Throughout the series, we actively engaged with media outlets and journalists, with a second big PR push mid-way; many journalists followed the show closely and ran stories in response.

National press highlights included an interview with Reuben on the front page of The Telegraph’s 'Arts and Books' section. The Mirror opened its coverage of the series with a feature interviewing Reuben and his girlfriend Jess followed by multiple stories across print and online.  The Mail Online and Daily Express also ran episode-led features during the series, often with exclusive preview clips.

The coverage explored several recurring themes, including Reuben’s evolving role on the farm, his relationship with his family, and Jess. In addition to the features, there were several reviews, over a hundred news stories, and ten features. There was strong support for the series in the regional press, from titles such as The Yorkshire Post, The Yorkshire Man, Manchester Evening News, Leeds Live, and Gloucestershire Live, among many others.

Broadcast coverage highlights included an interview with Reuben appearance on ITV’s Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh, which spurred a significant wave of followup articles and social media engagement. The series was widely previewed and listed across broadsheet, mid-market, and tabloid publications, with over 25 'Pick of the Day' mentions, cementing its place as a must-watch event.

In total, there were 500 pieces of coverage for Reuben: Life in the Dales over the course of the series. We have selected a number of key pieces that best captured the series tone and impact.
