SUSTAINABILITY, WELLNESS AND THE MOVIES

ON THE COVER OF THIS ISSUE OF SAUDI PROJECTS, WE FEATURE SAUDI AMANA, ONE OF THE REGION’S MOST RESPECTED DESIGNBUILD CONTRACTORS, WHICH HAS RECENTLY STRENGTHENED ITS PRE-EMINENT POSITION IN MODULAR CONSTRUCTION WITH THE OPENING OF A NEW STATE-OF-THE-ART FACTORY IN RABIGH. THIS IS BOTH EXCELLENT NEWS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY AND THE PLANET AS A WHOLE.

The reason for this is that modular buildings are kind to the environment - they are eco-friendly and are leading the market with the use of recycled materials. In fact, one of the really big advantages of modular buildings is that you can be certain that you are investing in a sustainable construction process from beginning to end.

Talking about the environment, we speak to Andreas Flourou, Executive Director, Operations & Mobility at Red Sea Global, about making mobility cleaner, greener, and smarter, following the Kingdom’s recent announcement that it intends to convert at least 15% of its public transport and 25% of goods transport to advanced mobility vehicles, including autonomous vehicles, by 2030.

Sustainability within smart design is also in our sights, as we home in on the new Al Bustan store in Abha, where altavia.odg has set a new benchmark for the industry by creating a destination that provides a complete sensory experience for customers, ushering in a new age in the retail sector.

We focus on several of the giga-projects underway in the Kingdom too, not least Red Sea Global’s announcement that it has formed a partnership with the leading longevity clinic and wellness brand, Clinique La Prairie, including the development of a high-end 36,115m2 Clinique La Prairie Health Resort within Amaala,

Elsewhere, we cover what’s happening in the world of the Public Investment Fund and take a look at the progress of the smart city concept throughout the Middle East, while also getting transported to the silver screen with AlUla’s ongoing rise in the global movie industry.

This and much more can be found within the pages of this issue of Saudi Projects. We hope you enjoy it.
