THE BIMMER MONTHLY April May 2020 President’s Message Hello again, after a long absence. We all know only too well how the current Covid-19 situation has put a stop to any group social activity, but the signs are good. The ruling from our state government as of 1st June, 2020 on the Roadmap to Easing COVID-19 restrictions is at Stage 2. The major point of this restriction that is relevant to the operation of our club is “Gatherings in public spaces must be limited to a maximum of 20 people within one group.”

RND 3 2020 RX AUTOMOTIVE SPRINT SERIES That said, I’m pleased that Denis Weisz, our Motorsport th Director, has two event later this month, one of which, a Friday 26 June 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM DETAILS Skid Pan day at Mt Cotton, is fully subscribed.
Just so you are aware, everyone we have had dealings with are ultra cautious regarding any event. The Skid Pan on June 13th is restricted to 7 entrants per session and no passengers/spectators. Likewise, the first Lakeside meeting on June 26th will be running a morning and afternoon session with a maximum of 19 entrants per session. Our first social drive on Sunday 28th June will be split into 3 groups of 10 cars leaving at 8, 9 & 10am with no organised meal/gathering at the finish. All variants of BMW’s next-generation M5 sedan model will receive some form of electrification from 2024, a new report out of the UK has claimed. Car magazine says that from 2024 onwards, the flagship sedan M5 model will only be available with a plug-in hybrid or full-electric powertrain option. There are two things that have been constants in my life, film making and BMW’s. So let me share with you the ideal combination of my passions. An american film maker, Jeremy Heslup needed a filming rig that could keep up with supercars on a race track, while also accommodating a full operating crew (driver, director of photography, Number plate 633 CSI $3,000 ONO Michael 0408 715 729 and camera operator). There was the launch television commerial that hinted at the same role for the car..HERE There was also the amazing Guy Ritchie BMW film, “The Star” with Clive Owen, Madonna and an E39 M5 HERE. Whilst searching for these, I found a new Clive Owen film made for the release of the G30 5 Series.. More fun on 4 wheel HERE
