The Township of Tiny accepts various registration and payment methods for recreation programs.
We recommend registering using the Play Portal as other options take longer to process and may result in being waitlisted.
Use the Play Portal to register and pay with Visa or MasterCard credit and debit cards. Cards can be saved to your account for future payments and refunds.
By registering with the Play Portal, you can choose to defer payment until three weeks before the start date of the program.
Note: A 5% processing fee is collected for online transactions.
In-person, during office hours
Forms and payment (debit, cheque, or cash) can be submitted during regular office hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM) at the Township Office located at 130 Balm Beach Road West, Tiny.
In-person, outside office hours
Forms and payment (cheque or exact cash) can be submitted outside of regular office hours using the drop-box located beside the front door of the Township Office located at 130 Balm Beach Road West, Tiny.
Refunds, Withdrawals, and NSF Fees
Refunds will be issued to the original payee. Cash, cheque, and debit payments will be refunded by cheque, and online payments will be issued to the original card.
At least 2 weeks prior to the start date: A full credit on your account or a refund less a 5% processing fee if requested with at least 2 weeks notice before the start of the program.
Less than 2 weeks prior to the start date: A 50% refund as a credit on your account only, less a 5% processing fee, unless the request is accompanied by a medical certificate.
Within 24 hours of the start date: No refund or credit, unless the request is accompanied by a medical certificate.
A full or prorated refund or credit with no processing fee will be provided if the township cancels a program due to weather, low registration or for an unforeseen circumstance.
NSF Policy: Any deferred payments that are declined will result in a $45 NSF fee. Registrants will receive an automatic notice of this charge when their payment is declined, along with instructions on how to pay the balance on their account. Failure to pay the account balance within 48 hours will result in a cancelled registration.

As part of our commitment to being an age-friendly community, as designated by the World Health Organization (WHO), we’re constantly seeking new programs to cater to all age groups in our vibrant Tiny community. New for 2025, we are adding programs for beach volleyball, leadership and certifications, and crafting.

Indoor Facilities
The Township of Tiny owns multiple multi-use rental facilities throughout the township. These facilities provide a great space for many different types of events and are available for rent by Tiny residents, the general public, and local organizations. Tiny “Rail” Trail
The Tiny Trail is a 23-kilometre multi-use recreational trail that was converted from a rail line in 1978. It is part of the Trans Canada Trail network, stretching from Tiny/Flos Line (near Elmvale) in the south to the southern outskirts of Penetanguishene in the north. The trail crosses agricultural and forested areas with several historic bridges along the way. The northern part is paved while the rest is surfaced with crushed stone.

Within Tiny, convenient parking options are available at Wyevale Park (10 Concession 5 East) and Bernie LeClair Parkette (99 Balm Beach Road West). Additionally, parking can be found at Overhead Bridge Trailhead (corner of Overhead Bridge Road and Robert Street West) in the Town of Penetanguishene.

Off-Leash Dog Park at CBO Park
Tiny’s Off-Leash Dog Park, located at CBO Park (2 Winterset Avenue), has both a large and a small dog enclosure. It is open daily from 6:00 AM to 9:30 PM between May 1 and October 31. Users should review the posted dog park rules at the enclosure entrances.

Bump, set, and spike your way to fun with our Drop-In Beach Volleyball Program! Whether you’re a seasoned player or just looking to enjoy a casual game in the sand, this program is open to all skill levels. Participants will enjoy friendly matches in a relaxed, social atmosphere. Two courts will be available, allowing for multiple games and plenty of playtime. Bring your own water bottle and come ready to play!

Applications are currently open for Tiny’s Bursary Program
The Bursary Program assists students who are entering their post-secondary education, including courses and training programs of a technical and vocational nature.
There are five bursaries available in the amount of $1,000 each. Children of permanent and seasonal taxpayers in the Township of Tiny are eligible to apply.
Applications must be submitted online no later than 4:30 p.m. on May 23, 2025. Applications received after the due date will not be eligible.

This free program provides older adults with the opportunity to become more comfortable with technology and increase their knowledge through hands on experience. Join us for our free outdoor experience that introduces you to the fun sport of disc golf. Equipment and tailored instruction are provided to all skill levels, making it a perfect way to try out disc golf or to improve your existing skills. In partnership with Sixty and Hyzer Disc Golf Club, passionate volunteers are ready to guide you through this inclusive and enjoyable sport.

Tiny Lions Easter Egg Hunt
Friday, April 18th

Join the Tiny Township Lions Club at Wyevale Park for this family-friendly event, perfect for children ages 0-10. Bring your baskets (or a bag) and your sense of adventure as you search for hidden treasures! The event details are as follows: BBQ and registration will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 12:00 PM. Families are kindly asked to bring a non-perishable food donation for the local Food Bank to help support our community.
National Volunteer Week
April 27th to May 4th
Every year, National Volunteer Week is held in April to celebrate and thank Canada’s millions of volunteers. Here in Tiny, we have over 120 hardworking volunteers that support recreation programs, environmental initiatives, senior and youth services, and special events.

Through the generosity of the community, the Golf Tournament has raised over $479,000 for more than 40 local charitable organizations. Pollinator Promotion highlights the importance of pollinators and encourages action to protect them. In Tiny, we’re sharing ways to support pollinators— like beetles, ants, and butterflies—while exploring their vital role in our environment. Community BBQ

Tiny’s annual Community BBQ event is our biggest, most highly anticipated community celebration. It’s a day filled with sizzling grills, mouthwatering treats, and the joyful laughter of friends and neighbours coming together to celebrate the spirit of community. Permanent and seasonal residents of the Township of Tiny are invited to a free BBQ lunch, local live music and exhibitors, and a fortune of festivities for all ages, including inflatables, face painting, fire trucks, a magician, lawn games, and more!

Festival du Loup

Lafontaine Park
Festival du Loup is a celebration of the Francophonie community through arts and heritage. Based on the legend of the wolf of Lafontaine, this community gathering welcomes everyone to celebrate its proud identity. The Festival will take place on Saturday, July 19th at the Lafontaine Park. The Festival includes storytelling, a parade of tractors, a field day filled with activities for the whole family, and lots of music (including the Great Howl).

Balm Beach
Join the Business Association of Balm Beach on Thursdays from June 26th to September 4th at Balm Beach. Enjoy live music on the beach starting at 6 PM. Although sponsored by the Township of Tiny, this is a community funded event, supporting primarily local musicians from the North Simcoe region. Help support this event by bringing a monetary donation for the Busk Bucket.
Terry Fox Day in the Heart of Georgian Bay

The Terry Fox Run is a beloved annual event that brings communities together in a show of solidarity and support for cancer research. Participants of all ages and abilities take part in this non-competitive event, inspired by Terry Fox’s remarkable journey. It’s a day of hope, courage, and determination as individuals and teams come together to raise funds and awareness for cancer research, while honouring Terry’s legacy.

Technology Workshop Attendant
Are you passionate about technology and helping others? Join us as a Technology Workshop Attendant and play a vital role in empowering older adults to embrace the digital world! As a volunteer, you’ll support participants in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where they can comfortably explore phones, tablets, and computers. Your guidance will help them build confidence, learn new skills, and navigate the internet with ease. Android users are especially in demand, so if you’re an Android pro, your expertise will be greatly appreciated! These seasonal workshops are a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact and help seniors feel more connected in today’s digital age.
Community Garden Coordinator
The Community Garden, located in Perkinsfield Park, is a space to plant and care for vegetables, flowers, and herbs. The Community Garden Coordinator oversees this space by communicating with gardeners, volunteers, and township staff, organizing community initiatives within the garden (cleanups, foodbank garden, etc.), and providing any horticultural information to the gardeners. The township provides supplies and resources to the coordinator.
Community Gardener
The Community Garden, located in Perkinsfield Park, is a space to plant and care for vegetables, flowers, and herbs. Volunteers help by caring for communal plots (e.g. sensory gardens, herb spiral), including planting, watering, and weeding. The township provides supplies and resources to volunteers.
Pollinator Gardener
As a designated Bee City, Pollinator Gardens have been created to help our pollinators thrive, while also beautifying public spaces. Volunteers help by planting and maintaining one (or multiple) of the many gardens in the community. The township provides supplies and resources to volunteers, and reimburses pre-approved garden expenses. Locations include: Perkinsfield Park, Lafontaine Park, Wyevale Park, Wyebridge Park, Bernie LeClair Parkette, Township Office, Township of Tiny Community Centre, various Fire Stations, and more.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volleyball Attendant
Serve up some fun and help make our New DropIn Beach Volleyball Program a success! Volunteers play a key role in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where participants of all skill levels can enjoy friendly matches in the sand. Responsibilities include assisting with court setup and takedown, organizing games, ensuring fair play, and promoting a positive, social atmosphere. This is a great opportunity for volleyball enthusiasts to stay active, engage with the community, and support recreational programming.
Pickleball Attendant
Pickleball is a paddle-sport program created for all skill levels; the rules are simple and the game is easy to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced competition. The township hosts a Pickleball for All drop-in program outdoors during the spring, summer, and fall seasons. Volunteers foster a healthy and positive environment for participants to learn, practice, and play. The township is responsible for the set-up and take down of equipment and supplies, while volunteers provide supervision and assistance to new and experienced players.
Soccer Coach
Volunteers in this position instruct their team through the pre-assigned drill stations and provide a positive environment for participants to learn the fundamentals of soccer. The township hosts a training session each season to practice drills, instructions, ensuring coaches are equipped with the knowledge and confidence necessary for the program. Volunteers must enjoy working with children, have a passion for sports and be enthusiastic. Plus, all volunteer coaches receive a free soccer registration!
2025 Citizen of the Year Awards
The Township of Tiny recognizes that volunteers help to achieve Tiny’s mission and mandate and enhance the work of paid staff in the creation of a safe and enjoyable place in which to live, work, and play.
Each year the Township of Tiny seeks nominations for Citizen of the Year Awards during the fall.
Applications will be reviewed by committee. Applicants representing a political agenda, or who are not in good standing with the township will not be considered.
Robert Robitaille Memorial Volunteer Award
Recognizes an individual who has generously volunteered their time and has been committed to the development and advancement of parks and recreation in the community; and/or has made a difference and as a result has improved the quality of life in the Township of Tiny.
Corrie Hamelin Memorial Community Volunteer Award
Recognizes an individual who has volunteered their time and energy to more than one community association, organization or cause, in a selfless manner; and/or has strong beliefs in giving back to the community of Tiny and benefiting the people of Tiny.
Youth and Senior of the Year Awards
Recognizes an outstanding senior and youth who has contributed to the enrichment of the social, cultural or civic life of the Township of Tiny, including: arts, literature, community service, sports and recreation, volunteering, education, environment, fitness and/or humanitarian activities.
