I have the great privilege of being Mayor of the beautiful Town of Osoyoos. On behalf of Council and Staff, we offer “Canada’s warmest welcome” to everyone visiting the Sonora Community Centre.
We hope that our residents and visitors will take advantage of the wonderful education, cultural, and recreational programs we offer and enjoy the variety of amenities available outside of the Centre, such as:

Gyro Park, Sunrise Marina, Goodman Park, Legion Park and Pioneer Park washrooms are open 7:00am-7:00pm daily. May 1st, 2026 park washrooms will switch to summer hours 7:00am-10:00pm.

The Town of Osoyoos is committed to providing accessible options to residents and visitors. Initiatives such as the Mobi Mat and our Mobi Chair allow people to experience the lake in a new way. The accessible swings at Kinsman and Lion’s Park gives kids a chance to play alongside their friends, while our trail rider gives users the opportunity to experience the hills and trails surrounding Osoyoos.




The Osoyoos Accessibility Trailer houses the Mobi Chair and is available to users throughout the summer.

Registration is required in advance for all programs except those listed as drop-in. Payment must be received in order for a customer to be considered registered. Spots will not be held. We encourage early registration as all classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
How can I register?
• In person at the Sonora Community Centre. Payment is required at the time of registration. The Sonora Community Centre is pleased to accept cash, cheque, Interac or credit card payment (additional fees applied).

What if the program is full?
If a program is full, we will happily place you on a waitlist for the class. There is no charge to be placed on a waitlist, and we will call you if a space becomes available.
What happens if my program gets cancelled?
Should a program be cancelled, a credit for the program cost will be paced on your account. Credits can be used for future program registration, facility bookings or membership purchases.
What happens if I no longer want to attend a program?
You may withdraw from a registered program at any time. A credit for the full program fee will be given for withdrawals that occur prior to the start of the program. A prorated credit will be given for withdrawals that occur after the program has started. Credits will NOT be given for participants who do not show up for classes without notice.
Do I need to attend programs with my child/children?
The program description will let you know if you need to attend a program with your child or not. All preschool programs require parents to attend with their child. Parents should be prepared to participate with their child if needed.
Can my child hang out at the Sonora Community Centre while waiting for a program to start or for parent pick up?
Children under the age of 7 must be under the supervision of a parent/ guardian when they are not under the supervision of their program instructor. Town of Osoyoos staff are not responsible for children in the building that are not participating in a program.

Low Income Subsidy Program (LISP)
The Town of Osoyoos offers a Low Income Subsidy Program for individuals and families to participate in programs and services offered by the Community Services Department.
Applicants must live in Osoyoos or RDOS Area A and provide one of the following:
• Previous years Notice of Assessment to prove low income status
• Proof of receiving disability benefits
• Endorsement letter from an organization such as the school district, Desert Sun Counselling and Resource Centre or the Okanagan Boys and Girls Club.

A developmental program that provides an ideal entry level of play for children. Have fun learning how to catch, throw, swing a bat, and be a team player while having a BLAST! Classes will take place outside, so please bring weather-appropriate clothing, proper footwear, and water. Parent participation may be required as needed.

This program will allow little ones to develop movement skills through games and play! Fundamental movements like running, jumping, throwing, and kicking are essential for a child’s physical development and improves their chances of staying physically active for life. Join us for some fun times at the Sonora Centre. During our free play, we will have some time to play in the gymnasium while moms and dads have time to connect with other parents. Build motor and socio-emotional skills in our young children while playing. This is a no-cost drop-in program.

Seniors & Tot Skating (Arena closes May 3rd)
This is a quieter time for little ones and their caregivers, and seniors to enjoy the ice at the Sun Bow Arena! Helmets are mandatory for children and strongly recommended for adults. Strollers are not allowed on the ice. Don’t have skates? We got you covered! Visit the Osoyoos Skate Library in the lobby to borrow a pair for free!

Floor Hockey
5-9 years
Come join us for an hour of floor hockey. Participants will have a chance to learn basic floor hockey skills and further develop skills already acquired. A scrimmage will be part of each day as well. Hockey sticks are supplied, but participants are welcome to bring their own. Please bring plenty of water and appropriate clothing and footwear.

It’s a game of skill and strategy that is easy to learn and a challenge to master
Members will be on hand with basic instructions so that you can try a few ends to see how we roll If bowls is something you might enjoy then sign up for free lessons. We hope you will be intrigued by the game; and interested in adding bowls to your summer activity schedule.

Bowling season runs May through September. Club play has a level for everyone, ranging from social to competitive to tournament play. Dues are only $155 which includes equipment rental in first year. S o all you need is flat sole shoes! See schedule on website

Skate Library, Public Skating, Senior & Tot Skate and Shinny Hockey Sponsor
Want to hit the ice, but you don’t have any skates? We’ve got you covered! The Osoyoos Skate Library is located in the lobby of the Sun Bowl Arena and has skates you can use absolutely free! The library has skates for children to adults - all we ask is that you put them back once you’re done. Helmets are not available.
Have skates sitting around?
The skate library is always accepting donations of used skates. Skates can be dropped off at the Sun Bowl Arena during regular operating hours.

The Sonora Community Centre offers a variety of drop-in sports for youth and adults. Drop-in schedules are available at the Sonora Community Centre front desk or online at www.osoyoos.ca

• Weight Room is open for persons ages 16 years and older. Youth ages 13–15 years may be permitted under the direct supervision of an adult 19 years or older. Alternatively, youth 12-15 of age may be permitted without adult supervision once they have successfully completed a Youth Weight Room Orientation. Please contact the Sonora Community Centre for more information.
• Children ages 7-13 of age may be permitted into the gymnasium during applicable drop-in times under the direct supervision of a responsible person over 16 years of age.
• All users, including pass holders, must check in with the front desk before entering the weight room, fitness classes, or drop-in sports.
All passes include access to the weight room, drop-in sports, and drop-in fitness classes unless otherwise noted. All Annual Passes will also include access to select programs at the Sonora Community Centre at a reduced price. Rates are adjusted annually to reflect the Canadian Price Index, effective June 1.

Early access is available for those with a valid monthly or annual pass. Access is by fob and is available from 6:30am-8:30am Monday to Friday. To obtain a fob, please ask at the front counter at the Sonora Community Centre.

Walk and Talk
16 years+
Join Kara Burton from the Osoyoos Museum for an informal history lesson! Starting at the Sonora Community Centre, participants will walk towards Main Street and then loop back again to the centre. Along the way, you will stop and discuss some fun and interesting facts about our desert community. Each walk will take 1-1.5 hours depending on walking speed. Please wear comfortable footwear and weather appropriate clothing.

Join a group fitness class that combines martial arts techniques with fast-paced cardio. A high-energy workout to build stamina, improve coordination and flexibility, and burn calories as you build lean muscle with this fun and challenging workout. Please wear comfortable, loose clothing. Hand wraps are highly recommended. Learn practical AI tools for daily life including voice assistants, image generators, text summarizers and basic coding concepts in a relaxed supportive environment. This is an interactive, hands on class that will provide students an opportunity to explore these new AI concepts but also how to stay safe and avoid AI scams. No prior experience required.

Mobility & Core - This class is designed to strengthen the core muscles while promoting joint mobility and stability. It will help to improve range of motion, which will benefit all other exercises and daily activities. The first 15 to 20 minutes of the class will be spent standing and the remainder spent doing floor work.
HIIT Boot Camp - This class combines weights with cardio intervals to give you a full body, high intensity workout designed to make you sweat!
WalkFit - A full hour of walking, talking, and stretching but this isn’t your average walking class! This hour is for you to move at your own pace to enhance your health and build connections with each other through movement. All levels are welcome!
Total Body Fit - A high-intensity total body conditioning class that incorporates core, strength training, and cardio intervals to deliver an effective workout. The class uses a variety of equipment and formats, so no two classes are the same. Modifications are given for different fitness levels.
Groove It! - A multi level dance fitness class set to music from a variety of decades and genres. It can be done seated or standing to accommodate all levels of fitness and abilities. Options are shown for no to low impact or you can choose to up your own intensity to personalize your dance experience. Everyone is welcome on the dance floor! No dance experience necessary. Wear something cool and comfortable and bring water.
Stay Strong with Louise - A low impact cardio class that includes light resistance/weights/flexibility and balance. This class is designed for anyone new to fitness, recovering from injuries, or getting back to fitness. Cardio is done at a slower pace alternating with light weights or a resistance band and balance with wall support.


Explore the stunning desert landscapes of Osoyoos with our guided hiking program, designed for all skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced hiker, our knowledgeable guide will lead you through scenic trails with breathtaking views, unique wildlife, and fascinating local ecology. Each hike is paced comfortably to suit the group and includes stops along the way. Please wear weather appropriate, comfortable clothing, sturdy hiking shoes or runners and bring water.
