PRO JECTS / C A MPA IGN S / IN ITIATIVES/ C OA LITIO N S Community Development & Engagement: FCSS’s involvement may include being a partner, organizer, or facilitator to identify, plan and implement strategies to address a social need within the community: Junior Leader Training Skill development for youth (ages 12+) who have a passion for working with children.

School Break Activities for Children & Youth: Escape Room Developmental Asset #33 Social Competencies, Youth develop interpersonal skills and learn to work well with others on a team.

Emergency Social Services (ESS): This program is intended to meet the survival and psychological needs of individuals impacted by an emergency or disaster.

Capacity Building: Member and banker with the Vegreville Cares Coalition (VCC) and partner with VCC to deliver various initiatives.

•

Family Violence Prevention & Anti-Bullying: Member on the Rural Elder Abuse Prevention Coalition (REAP), partner with REAP to deliver workshops, partner with VCC to deliver awareness and support for Family Violence Prevention Month & Pink Shirt Day and partner with the Regional Family Violence Prevention initiative.

Youth Engagement: Accept Work Experience and Practicum Students, FCSS Advisory Youth Board Position, Engage youth volunteers to assist with FCSS event and program planning and delivery.

Mental / Physical Health & Substance Use: Member & banker for the Cannabis Let’s Talk Alberta initiative, member of the Drug & Vaping committee, and partner with various Vegreville MHCB programs and activities.

Seniors Wellness: Partner with VegMin Learning Society, AHS Health Promotion and Kalyna Primary Care Network to address Aging Drivers, Fraud, Alzheimer’s, CNIB, Grief and Loss, and Caregivers Support.

Information and Knowledge Sharing: FCSS Facebook Page, Twitter, Instagram, & Town of Vegreville Website, Vegreville Interagency, and FCSS East Central Regional and Association of Alberta initiatives.

•

Safe Community: Member of Violence Threat Risk Assessment (VTRA) Committee, and Planning, development, implementation and management of the Town of Vegreville’s Emergency Social Services Plan (ESS), partner to deliver Emergency Preparedness Week, and a member of the Central Region ESS coalition.

Seniors’ Health & Wellness Day Increasing senior’s ability to be resilient and to handle whatever comes their way.
