CALS

Ages: 0-18 & Caregivers

The Community Association for Lasting Success Mondays - Fridays | 8AM - 3:30PM

CALS has been making a difference in children’s lives by supporting families and responding to their individual needs in building a foundation in learning that allows every child to strive to his or her potential. CALS offers programs and services that support families and enhances the development and well being of children. Our programs support the belief that parents are their child’s first and most important teacher.

Programs include: Head Start - an inclusive early learning program for children ages 3-5. Head Start program aims to create an inclusive learning environment where every child has the opportunity to achieve to his/her potential.

Breakfast Club - school snack program that provides a nutritious mid-morning snack, to elementary school children Family Literacy - programming aimed to strengthen and build literacy skills in both adult and child and foster the importance of parents in their children’s learning and to help create new opportunities for learning.

L.A.N.E. (Literacy and Numeracy Enrichment) - an after-school program that brings students in grades 9-12 and 1-3 together to practice basic skills and gain confidence in their abilities to communicate and compute in a variety of contexts.

Debbie Fedoruk’s Music Studio

Ages: 6+

Once per week | length, day & time negotiable

I provide piano and voice lessons. They will be online in the fall but will also be available in person when the COVID-19 situation resolve. I teach all levels and a variety of musical styles including pop, musical theatre, gospel, country and classical. I also provide prep for music festivals, exams, community performances, etc. Also just for fun!

Vegreville Academy of Ukrainian Dance (Svitlo)

Ages: 3 - Adult

Mondays | meetings once a month

We work to teach, preserve & promote the heritage & culture of Ukrainian dance. This dance year is unique with COVID & we are planning our year a little differently. Classes will be run socially distanced & not as a cohort club. We are breaking our year into 3 intervals. The first interval will run from Sept 14 – Nov 23, 2020 and will be focusing on tech. The second interval will run from Nov 30, 2020 – Feb 15, 2021. We will determine how this interval looks as we get closer to the date and this will be determined using the provincial guidelines.
