Letter from the Director

Hello and welcome to the Town of Timnath’s first-ever parks and recreation activity guide! The Timnath Activity Guide, Your Path to Play , will keep you updated on all the cool programs, special events and facilities this great town has to offer!

For those of you who don’t know, we are relatively new to the game. The Parks and Recreation Department was created in 2023 which includes parks, recreation, the Timnath Reservoir, open spaces, trails, and special events. We have 10 dedicated full-time staff members to bring the Town of Timnath amazing recreational opportunities. Our parks system includes four parks, 10 miles of trails, and the Timnath Reservoir. Our recreation programming team offers all kinds of programming from youth sports, to cooking, and cheer and dance. Rounding out our Parks and Recreation Department, our special events team brings amazing events that bring this community together!

As we move forward, we will look to the recently completed PROST Master Plan to help guide us. After five months of community engagement, the Master Plan has outlined five strategic initiatives intended to provide focus and help prioritize decisions aligned with community and organization needs. These initiatives are:

■ Build a Foundation for Success

■ Grow Services to Meet Community Needs

■ Align Infrastructure with a Growing Community

■ Advance Partnerships

■ Steward Natural Resources

As we wrap up a busy fall season and plan for this winter and beyond, we can’t help but look to the future and see the potential this community has. We are all excited about what is to come and look forward to building a future within the community we serve.
