Message From Mayor Fries

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Severance!

2024 has been a fast year! I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving. Here comes Christmas and 2025!

The Town of Severance had a great year, and we look forward to an even better 2025. On December 10th, your Town Council will vote on our 2025 budget. If approved, we will have a slight positive margin and continue to enjoy no debt! On December 12th, we will cut the ribbon on our New Police Department. Built with no debt. Paid for with no tax dollars from citizens, but with grant funds from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs and impact fees paid from development and growth that occurred in the recent past. A great example of how growth can pay its own way.

Your Town Council and I continue to work diligently on economic development in Severance. Residents deserve more services closer to home, and regardless of obstacles in recent years, we are finding ways around the obstacles and keep moving in a positive direction.

I hope you all can join us for our Town Christmas celebration on Saturday, December 14th at Community Park. Visit the town website, townofseverance.org, or get our new town of Severance app to get the breakdown of the activities planned for the day.

Recently, we installed some new technology in the council chambers. This will result in a better viewing experience if you stream our meetings or if you watch the recordings at your convenience. I encourage you to come to our council meetings, stream live or view the recordings. This is the best way for each of you to get the facts from your elected officials making decisions on your behalf.

I am very honored to serve as your Mayor. Thanks to all who reach our with your questions and comments. Please keep them coming! If I don’t know the answer, I will find it for you.

Lastly, Please enjoy the Christmas season and what it stands for. Perhaps 2025 will bring Peace on Earth.

See you around town!
