Registration

All fees are due at the time of registration. Program registration is only complete upon payment.

Statutory Holidays

The Morinville Leisure Centre is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on statutory holidays (closed Christmas Day). The Morinville Community Cultural Centre is closed on statutory holidays.

Refund Policy

If we cancel a program due to low registration, every effort will be made to notify participants. A full refund will be processed or full credit will be applied to client account excluding any online charges.

Customer Refund Requests

Cancellations made 7 or more days before the program start date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the start date will be refunded minus a 20% administrative fee.

Refunds for after the program starts will only be permitted with written medical proof and will be prorated.

Medical Conditions

Clients are required to disclose any medical or behavioural conditions, allergies and or special care instructions that may affect their participation in the program.

Played with lightweight rackets and a shuttlecock, this is a great game for improving agility, hand-eye coordination, and stamina. Open to players of all ages and skill levels. Equipment is available for use.

Pickleball

A fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and pingpong on a badminton sized court. Join us and play singles or doubles. Paddles and balls are available.

Fitness Consultation

Meet with a certified fitness trainer for a personalized workout program tailored to your goals. Your one-on-one 60-minute session includes a consultation, program design and active component. Register for personal training sessions and receive a FREE consultation.

Individual Personal Training

Work one-on-one with a certified personal trainer to reach your health and fitness goals. Get a customized program with guidance, motivation and ongoing support. Sessions are held in a private training room for a focused, comfortable experience. Register for personal training and receive a FREE consultation. Member pricing is for annual members.

Facility Orientation (16+)

Feel comfortable and confident in our fitness spaces with this free orientation. A staff member will guide you through the equipment, layout, safety guidelines and basic gym etiquette, while answering any questions you may have. It’s the perfect first step before starting independent workouts or joining a program.

Semi-Private Personal Training (2 to 4 people)

Have friends, family or coworkers with similar fitness goals? Stay motivated and save with group personal training. Enjoy group consultations, program design, and training sessions with your trainer.

Training sessions take place in our private training room, located away from the public fitness floor, providing a focused and comfortable experience. Receive a FREE consultation when you register for personal training sessions.

Large Group Sport Team/Dry Land Personal Training (5 to 25 people)

Boost strength, endurance and teamwork with customized dryland training for sport teams and large groups. Led by certified personal trainers, each session focuses on functional movement, conditioning and sport-specific drills to improve overall performance. Whether you’re training pre-season or maintaining off-ice, off-field or off-court fitness, our trainers will build a safe, challenging and engaging program to match your team’s goals. A minimum of four sessions must be booked.

Teen Gym 101 (12 to 15 years)

Youth ages 12 to 15 must complete Teen Gym 101 before they can access the Fitness Centre and Cardio Zone on their own. This supervised program teaches safe equipment use, gym etiquette and proper exercise techniques. Offered Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. if no registration 24 hours prior, the session will be cancelled.

Beaded Earrings Workshop

Create a beautiful pair of earrings using traditional beading techniques. Participants will choose their own colours, allowing for personal expression while learning about the cultural significance of beadwork. Guided by an experienced instructor, this workshop is suitable for all skill levels. All materials are provided and participants will leave with a unique, handcrafted pair of earrings to wear or gift. Participants under 18 must attend with an adult.

Create a personalized landscape painting on canvas, guided step by step by an instructor. NEW Modern Moss Art Creation

Discover the art of preserved botanicals in this hands-on creative workshop. Participants will design a 5” x 6” art piece using real preserved moss —sustainably harvested plants that are no longer living but maintain their natural beauty. You will be guided through the process to create a one-of-a-kind piece that brings a touch of nature indoors. Participants under 18 must attend with an adult. Program price is per creation.

Babysitter Training

Ages 12 to 14

The Canada Safety Council course is designed to increase confidence and provide the hands-on experience and skills needed to be a great babysitter. A certificate is provided upon completion. Please bring your water bottle, lunch, doll and a diaper for this program. Students must be turning 12 within the calendar year.

The Canada Safety Council Home Alone Program is designed to provide children 10 years of age and older with the necessary skills and knowledge to be safe and responsible when home alone for short periods of time. The goal is to help children understand how to prevent problems, handle real-life situations and stay safe and constructively occupied.

Youth who have completed grade six can apply for our popular Leaders in Training (LIT) Summer Camp Experience to develop leadership skills, gain practical experience and earn leadership hours while assisting summer camp leaders. New opportunities available. Applicants must commit to volunteer in one of two ways:

At least 35 hours (one full camp week) and attend training days on July 2 & 3.

OR

Volunteer Thursdays for our camp bike and hike days and attend training days on July 2 & 3.

Thursday volunteers must be able to confidently ride a bike and own their own proper bike helmet.

NEW Textured Floral Art Workshop for Youth

Get creative in this hands-on art workshop where you’ll design a beautiful floral canvas in 3D using thick paint and the impasto technique. You will learn how to blend colours, build dimension and use simple tools to create rich texture and depth in your petal and leaf artwork. There are no prerequisites and no experience required—this relaxed, guided session is open to everyone. All supplies are provided.

Carnival Quest is all about stepping into a world of carnival magic, thrilling challenges and playful quests where teamwork and imagination lead the way.

Rockets and Robots is a science-based camp where kids explore space and simple machines through fun experiments, building activities and imaginative play.

Paws and Claws

July 20 to 24

Paws and Claws is an animal themed camp where kids learn about creatures big and small through games, crafts and hands on activities inspired by the animal world.

Up Close & Awesome

July 27 to 31

A high-energy week where kids get up close with amazing people, equipment and experiences they don’t usually see.

Into the Wild

August 4 to August 7 (4 days)

Into the Wild is primarily an outdoor camp for all four days. Campers will get to experience being outside all day, every day, rain or shine, exploring nature through challenges, discovery and teamwork.

Artful Adventures

August 10 to 14

Artful Adventures is a creative camp where kids explore different art styles and materials through hands on projects, imagination and playful expression.

Water Wonders

August 17 to 21

Join us for splashing, exploring and taking on waterthemed challenges that make summer unforgettable. A week of non-stop aquatic excitement.

HERITAGE ARTS CULTURE

Summer Travelling Adventure

Ages 6+

Join us for our free, drop-in park program and enjoy crafts, games and activities all summer long. This program is geared toward kiddos aged 6 to 12 years, parents/guardians are welcome too. Program staff are not responsible for child minding; children are free to come and go as they please.

Eat Well Food Program

Morinville FCSS, in collaboration with Sobeys Morinville, offers a high-quality monthly food basket to help residents manage the cost of food. Each basket provides four servings each of three different meats, vegetables and fruits. We are unable to accommodate any dietary restrictions or substitutions. Pick up locations:

Home Supports for Seniors

The FCSS Home Supports Program offers accredited contractors at competitive rates for seniors seeking in-home services, including snow removal, lawn care and housekeeping. Additional subsidies may be available for those with low income; proof of income is required. Visit morinville.ca/olderadult for details.

Home with Dignity Hampers

This local project provides residents access to basic hygiene and comfort items. Hampers are created with community donations and distributed to individuals

placed in low-income housing, including seniors’ care facilities, and to all others in need. Donations are accepted for this program at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre.

Morinville FCSS Information & Referral

The Morinville FCSS Information & Referral program connects residents with essential community services and resources. We offer guidance on various aspects, including financial support, food security, mental health, counselling and more. Our knowledgeable employees provide personalized assistance to help you navigate and access the support you need. This free service is available to all Morinville residents and ensures you are informed and connected to local resources.

Morinville FCSS Information & Referral for Seniors

This program serves as a valuable resource for individuals in the community, facilitating connections with essential social supports and resources. Support is provided for completing forms and navigating government processes. Expert referrals are provided for services such as income tax, wills and powers of attorney, mental health support and more.

Period Dignity Hampers

This program provides feminine hygiene products at no cost to anyone who needs them. These hampers are managed by local volunteers and supplies are donated by the community. Donations are accepted for this program at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre.

Family & Community Support Services

Seniors’ Centre Without Walls

A free phone-based program that offers a variety of interactive health and well-being information sessions and friendly conversations. This program offers opportunities to socialize, learn new skills and stay connected from the comfort of your own home. Open to adults aged 55+ living anywhere in Alberta who find it difficult to leave their homes and participate in social activities in their community. Free of charge, to register, call Edmonton Southside Primary Care Network at 780-395-2626.

The Empty Bowl Pet Supply Program

This program distributes pet food and supplies to lowincome or in-crisis pet owners to ensure they can keep their companions healthy, safe and with their families. Donations are accepted at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre and the Morinville Vet Clinic during regular business hours.

Wellness and Recreation Access Program (WRAP) WRAP supports low-income individuals and families by providing up to $250 per person to participate in Morinville fitness, recreation and FCSS programming. Applications must be renewed annually. This initiative ensures access to essential wellness activities, enhancing community well-being and engagement.
