Summer Summer 2018 2018 Newsletter Newsletter

A recent audit validated that the Town of Mamaroneck’s finances are in excellent condition as we commence the budget process for 2019. We survived the storms of this past winter and are continuing to work with Con Edison to assist in improving their communications and timely responses to residents when emergencies arise. In addition, the Town Board is exploring a plan to aid residents in an effort to continue their benefitting from state and local tax deductions. We are also implementing major sanitary sewer repairs and capital projects, such as repairs to the Pryor Manor Bridge and the Weaver Street Fire House. On the environmental front, the Town was recently awarded state grant funds to help purchase four electric vehicle charging stations and we’ve already leased two electric vehicles. In June, the Town, along with the Village of Larchmont, received an Eco Award from Westchester County in recognition of launching a voluntary food waste recycling program in 2017. The Sustainability Collaborative, the Town’s environmental committee, continues to work on a reusable bag initiative with the goal of reducing single use plastic bags in our community. For the 3,000 households that participate in Westchester Power’s Community Choice Aggregation Program, over the past two years there has been significant savings in utility costs. Collectively, the savings are approximately $500,000 which equates to $170 per household in the Town of Mamaroneck. The benefits of participating in the program include not only savings, but also promoting renewable energy. Since it is summer and things are going so well, I would like to focus the rest of this newsletter on the many wonderful residents, volunteers and staff who provide their talents and time to make the Town of Mamaroneck the special place it is in which to live. This newsletter is dedicated to presenting a sample of some of these special people and events. Best regards, Nancy Seligson Town Supervisor The Town of Mamaroneck is committed to fostering welcoming communities and an equitable, diverse, and inclusive society.
