Magical Madrid Workshop

Day: Friday Time: 9:00 – 11:30 am Dates: November 11th (Veteran’s Day) Fee: Resident: $60 Nonresident: $80

In this Encanto-inspired workshop, your learner will embrace their inner magic and develop models that represent the qualities that make them special while putting their imaginations to the test! We want your learner to walk away from this workshop with a concrete idea of how they would fit into the magical Madrigal family and how they would help the community with their special gifts. Most importantly, we will give them challenges that will help develop their engineering and critical thinking skills in a very fun way.

Roblox Workshop

Day: Friday Time: 12:30 – 3:00 pm Dates: November 11th (Veteran’s Day) Fee: Resident: $60 Nonresident: $80

Does your student love playing or designing in Roblox? Is there a game they just can’t seem to get enough of? In this Snapology workshop, students will recreate and explore their favorite Roblox adventures by using LEGO® bricks to create interactive games! From designing an Obby to building a 3-D character skin, students will be fully immersed in the gameplay and game design of Roblox!

Mad Science – The Science of Magic Ages 5 – 9

Learn the science behind illusions, movie magic and stage magic! Read minds and perform a Houdini-style escape! Discover why science is the real star on the big screen. Create cool sound effects. Toy with 3-D technology. Make motion pictures come alive. Sketch a short feature in the Cartoon Creator™ flipbook. Trick your brain and discover how mirrors and their reflections can play tricks on what you see. Make a periscope to see above and beyond. It’s not magic…it’s science! Campers must bring a nut free lunch and two light snacks.
