ACCEPTABLE PROOF OF RESIDENCY Two acceptable proofs of residency are required including (1) valid government issued photo ID such as a driver’s license, and either a current utility bill, rent receipt, lease, or check with an address imprint. PLEASE NOTE: Last year’s permit and library cards CANNOT BE USED as proof of residency. The Recreation Department reserves the right to reject any proof it deems questionable. MAIL IN Send a completed program application form (downloaded from the Recreation Department website) with payment (check or money order) and a photo copy of two acceptable proofs of residency. • Individual payments are necessary for each program. • Please note that mail-in registration does not guarantee a space in a program. • An email receipt will be sent to confirm your registration. HOW TO WATCH A GOOD PROGRAM BE ELIMINATED
• Memberships and passes are Non-Refundable and Not Transferrable.
• Missed classes, activities, reservations or sessions of any kind (including due to COVID-19 and/or quarantining) cannot be transferred to another session, rescheduled, credited or refunded for any reason unless cancelled by the Recreation Department. Your registration guarantees you a space in the class regardless of your attendance. Note: Online registration convenience fees are non-refundable.
PLEASE REGISTER EARLY!
Nothing kills a recreation program faster than individuals who wait until the last minute to register. There is a point when a program must be cancelled or modified if there is insufficient registration. No one may participate without being registered.
• A request for a refund/household credit due to an injury must be submitted with a Refund Request Form and accompanied by a doctor’s note. Refund/household creditwill be prorated based on the date received by the Recreation Department less a 10% administrative fee.
• Skating lessons are Non-Refundable and Not Transferable. No refunds issued for skating lessons once registered.
• A full refund will be issued for any program cancelled by the Recreation Department. Requests for refunds or household credits will be considered by submitting a Refund Request Form to the Recreation Department at least (14) days prior to the program start date. A 10% administrative fee will be deducted. Requests received thirteen (13) to seven (7) days; a 50% refund will be given. No refunds will be granted less than seven (7) days prior to the program start date.

Our priority is the health and safety of the participants and staff in our programs. During the COVID-19 pandemic we will continue to take precautions and follow recommendations set by the CDC, state, and local guidelines. Please be aware that the current situation is fluid and guidelines are subject to change. Those who already have an online household account can register directly through the website, www.townofmamaroneckny.org/recreation. For those who are new or have not previously established an online household account, please refer to page 2 for details on setting up an account. (Please plan accordingly since new accounts may take up to 2 business days to activate). Registration is only available for one session at a time. There is no priority given to participants who are currently enrolled. Once registration begins, it will remain open online until the classes fill or until the deadline. Classes will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Skating lessons are no nrefundable and not transferable. No refunds issued for skating lessons once registered.
Group Lessons are available for beginner through advanced levels for those ages 4 through Adult. See page 11 for an explanation of the Skating Levels & Elements.

Please Note: There are certain skating levels that are difficult and may take a skater more than one session to complete. All students will be tested on the fourth week of each session to determine their skating level. Membership to I.S.I (Ice Sports Industry) is optional and available for an additional fee. I.S.I members who successfully complete a level will be given a badge. The Hommocks Park Ice Rink offers Learn to Skate classes that are designed to teach the fundamentals of skating in a fun environment! We follow the guidelines of the Ice Sports Industry program that is based on consistent and well-defined levels of achievement that have proven to guide a skater from basic beginner maneuvers through significantly more advanced and even competitive skill sets. It is recommended that all first time House Hockey players take this class. Focus will be on forward and backwards skating, hockey stops, forward and backward swizzles, gliding on one foot, forward crossovers, 2 foot turns on hockey skates. Hockey skates and helmet required. For ages 5 to 14: Register for Session 1 Skating School Pre-Hockey Lessons. Sessions are designed for all levels. So, if you need to get the rust off the skates and challenge your skills, improve your stick work or get a better understanding of the game, this program is for you. Sessions will concentrate on skating skills, stick work, and game situations. All participants are required to be in full equipment. Ice will be divided based on skill level. Participants must know how to skate. Selecting the proper skate size is very important. Skates should be approximately one-half size smaller than your shoe size. Skates should be snug but not so tight that it is uncomfortable. You should be able to wiggle your toes. Lace the skates tightly, starting at the bottom and lacing to the top, not skipping any eyelets.
Come down and work on your stick and puck skills during this open stick time. Players must have hockey experience and come with full equipment to participate.

Although our spectator area is heated, you’ll want to dress warmly when you come ice skating. Snow pants, gloves and helmets are recommended. It is always better to dress in layers so you may take off a layer or two as needed.

Snapology is partnering with Mamaroneck Recreation to kick off the Fall with some amazing S.T.E.A.M. & Robotics programs. At Snapology we use LEGO bricks and technology to bring S.T.E.A.M. concepts to life in a fun and engaging way.

Memorial Park
The blacktop has been re-surfaced underneath these 2 separate bridges to provide for a variety of activities. One bay provides a smooth surface and large area to be used as a tennis warm-up area. The other bay is designed with interactive children activities. This area includes a miniature track, shuffleboard, giant checkers and hopscotch. Equipment for these activities including volleyball net, pickleball equipment and game pieces for chess/checker tables may be borrowed from the on-duty attendant by leaving a Town of Mamaroneck Resident I.D. card or driver’s license.

PLAYGROUNDS
Memorial Park on Myrtle Blvd offers a variety of activities and recreational opportunities for all ages. Four tennis courts are available (permit required – see page 21) to Town residents who would like to have a friendly game with a neighbor. Lessons are available (see page 22) for those who would like to learn the game or sharpen their skills.
Memorial Park has a tot playground for 2 - 5 year olds and one for 5 - 12 year olds to enjoy. Both are surrounded by rubberized safety surfacing.

Transportation to Senior Center Curb to curb bus transportation to and from the center is available for senior residents living in the Town of Mamaroneck and the Villages of Larchmont and Mamaroneck. This service is only provided if the bus can safely navigate through the street. This includes being able to turn around without the bus backing up. Passengers must be able to enter and exit the bus independently. Suggested contribution for bus transportation is $1 per day. Senior Citizen Programs
The Town of Mamaroneck Senior Center operates under the auspices of the Town of Mamaroneck Community Services Office. The Center is located at 1288 W. Boston Post Road, Larchmont (VFW David Potts Jr. Post #1156). The Town of Mamaroneck Senior Center offers an engaging selection of social, educational, and recreational programs for our members to choose from. The Center is open to seniors aged 55 and over on weekdays year-round. Most activities are free or have a nominal charge for participants. A monthly calendar of events and programs is available at the Senior Center and on the Town of Mamaroneck website at http://www.townofmamaroneckny.org/senior-center.
Membership The Town of Mamaroneck Senior Center allows residents as well as non-residents to become members of the senior center. Those residing in the Town of Mamaroneck, Village of Larchmont & Village of Mamaroneck are considered residents. There is a required annual membership fee of $35 per person for residents and $50 for nonresidents. Annual membership at the senior center runs from January 1st- December 31st. Most activities are free with membership or have a nominal charge. Some programs, trips and special events have a fee for participants. A Message from the Mamaroneck Board of Education The Hommocks pool was built in 1969 by the Mamaroneck School District as a part of the construction of the Hommocks Middle School. The school District is responsible for ongoing maintenance and improvements of the pool. However, understanding that the pool is a valuable asset to all residents of the community, the School district and the Town of Mamaroneck have always had a cooperative arrangement whereby the Town rents the pool in order to make it available for the community. The Town and the School District work closely to minimize any disruptions caused by closures for periodic maintenance or renovations and will continue to try to keep the public informed of the issues relating to the pool.
