Don't forget to join us for our annual Medallion Mania hunt beginning Monday, July 24. Clues to be announced on the Parks & Recreation Department social media channels each morning until the medallion is found.

Chief Kimberly Stewart has recently announced her official intent to retire from the Erie Police Department. Her final day will land ten years to the day of her start as a commander in 2013.

During her tenure she surpassed the nationwide goal of departments achieving 30 percent female by 2030; with 40 percent of her staff being female 7 years before the goal. The size of the entire department more than doubled, as she established new positions and sections. "She has been a trailblazer, mentor and advocate for change. She has led us with a steady hand, a compassionate heart, and an unwavering commitment to our community," said Deputy Chief Lee Mathis.
