I

t’s time to kick off your plans for 2025! It’s hard to believe how fast time is going by. During the last few months of the year, we start thinking about New Year’s resolutions and setting goals we want to accomplish. Well, that time has come and we’re here to help you write your playbook for fun and recreation!

From young rookie players to seasoned professionals, there’s something for everyone.

The best way to learn about what the Town has to offer is to attend the Recreation Expo & Open House on Saturday, February 8 from 10 AM to 1 PM. You will have the chance to get in the game, play and meet class instructors, learn about the different programs the Town offers for all ages.

We’ll even have our referees available so you can ask any questions you may have. There are also fun activities for the rookie players! Additionally, the Recreation Expo & Open House provides a great opportunity to win and get a jump start on registration for summer camps and programs.

Winter is the pre-season for summer and training camp is rapidly approaching!

Aja Vu Plays the Music of Chicago January 11, 7:00 p.m.

In this special tribute, San Francisco Bay Area Steely Dan Tribute band, Aja Vu, will be performing Chicago's greatist hits as well as songs from Steely Dan's songbook.

Kindermusik Foundations for Babies: Zoom Buggy Kindermusik Foundations classes provide a special place where you can connect with your baby and other families through music and movement. Each week, you'll dance with your baby and share songs, lullabies, and so much more. Look no further! Our recreation staff has put together a great lineup of arts & crafts, games and activities themed around each season.

Join us and bring siblings and friends along too! Depending on the date, the location may change. We recommend wearing comfortable, layered play clothes and closed-toe shoes.

Enjoy the sport of a lifetime! Join Arora Tennis, USPTA Elite professional with over 15 years of teaching experience raise the standard of your tennis game! Arora Tennis will be bringing R.O.G.Y format and an Elite tennis class for ages 5 to 6. Red Ball is an introduction to tennis class. Basic FUNdamentals of strokes are provided and emphasis on agility, balance, and coordination.

A great introduction to competitive soccer, Skillz & Scrimmages teaches advanced skill building such as dribbling, passing and shooting in a team format, as well as an introduction to goaltending. Kids will scrimmage and learn to play together as a team.

Kids get exposure to playing every position and have a blast doing it.

Appropriate for players of varying skill levels. All participants receive a Kidz Love Soccer jersey! Shin guards are required after the first meeting.

Danville’s Teen Centers ensure a secure and enjoyable place for teens after dismissal during the school year. Teens can participate in team building, arts and crafts, movie clubs and more. Our trained recreation staff will create a healthy and engaging afterschool environment for your teens. The Teen Centers follow the San Ramon Valley Unified School District calendar. On regular school days, the centers will stay open until 5:30 PM, and on minimum days, the centers will stay open until 4:30 PM. Additionally, the centers will remain open until the last day of school. Registration is $175 per quarter and $525 for the entire academic year. Registration is mandatory to participate. At this workshop, the presenter will go through the top 16 IRA rules you must know to avoid your retirement accounts being annihilated by the tax man. Rules include: outstanding rollovers, transfers and QLACs; 5-year rules confusion after death, creditor/Bankruptcy protection of IRAs, year of death distribution, two different 5-year rules for Roth IRAs as well as spousal beneficiary designation for IRA and company plans.

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese exercise system for health, and Tai Chi Chih is a moving meditation that cultivates health and longevity.

This class focuses on teaching seniors important principles of self-defense. It includes ways that a cane can be effectively used for self-defense. Not a martial arts class but will inform you of many ways to protect yourself. Use of a cane for self-defense is not mandatory.

Policies & Procedures GENERAL INFORMATION Pre-registration with payment is required for program participation. Payment must accompany registration form.

The Waiver of Liability on the registration form must be signed prior to taking a class.

Advise Town staff if participant has a disability or allergy requiring special accommodations.

Class registration form may be sent ahead of registration date. All class registrations submitted prior to the first day of registration will be entered on the appropriate registration date, with no priority given.

PHOTO/VIDEO LIABILITY DISCLOSURE Photographs and video may be taken of participants during a class or program, and these photographs and video may be used for Town of Danville publicity purposes.

RAINOUTS AND CLASS MAKE-UPS Whenever possible, make-ups will be given on those occasions when inclement weather or instructor illness requires that a class be canceled. See instructor at next scheduled meeting for make-up date.

No refunds (whole or partial) can be given for classes missed by the student.

WAITLISTS Waitlists will be created once a class has reached maximum enrollment. If space becomes available, you will be contacted.

AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT

WITHDRAWALS (CREDITS/REFUNDS)

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Town of Danville encourages those with disabilities to participate in our programs. If you have any special needs that require specific accommodations so you can fully enjoy our classes and programs, call 925-314-3400.

Requests for withdrawal will be honored if requested no later than seven business days prior to the first day of class. There will be a $5 withdrawal fee assessed for each activity.

COURSE CANCELLATION

Requests made less than seven business days prior to the first day of class must be submitted in writing and will be considered on an individual basis.

When registration winters below the minimum enrollment required, it may be necessary to cancel a class or program. At the time of cancellation, the Town will initiate a full refund-minus transaction fee. Check refunds may take 4–6 weeks.

A $20 processing fee will be charged for processing refunds made by check. We do not provide cash refunds.

Withdrawals for sports leagues may be approved if a team can be replaced before the first game.

RESIDENCY STATUS CLARIFICATION Those living outside the Danville Town limits include residents of the communities of Alamo and Diablo, Alamo Creek, Bettencourt Ranch, Blackhawk, Bryan Ranch, Monterosso, Shadow Creek and Whitegate housing developments.

The program and facility fees cover a large portion of the actual costs, though Town of Danville residents also partially support the classes, events and facilities through their property tax assessments.

Because of this, those program participants and individuals reserving Town facilities who live outside of Danville pay an additional non-resident charge. If you have any questions about this information, call 925-314-3400.

Special Notice to Alamo Residents living in the Alamo County Service Area: all Alamo residents are eligible to register for Town-sponsored programs scheduled at Hap Magee Ranch Park during the resident registration period.
