Kindermusik for Babies: Do-Si-Do: Kindermusik Foundations classes provide a special place where you can connect with your baby and other families through music and movement. Each week, you'll dance with your baby and share songs, lullabies and nursery rhymes. Joyful musical play stimulates your baby's physical, cognitive, social and emotional development and engages their senses. This fall, we'll dance your way through our delightful "Do-SiDo" unit as you and your baby learn dances like the tango, cha-cha, and Charleston. In this class, the primary focus is on body movement with the ball. VOLUNTEER COACHES The Town of Danville is seeking positive, committed, friendly, and energetic volunteers to coach our Junior Warriors teams. There is about a 15-20 hour total commitment spread out over four months with the exception of the K-1st age group which is about an 8 hour time commitment. Coaches will be provided an online coaching course and will need to pass a background check.

he Town of Danville is proud to partner with the Golden State Warriors organization to present the 6th Danville Junior Warriors Basketball League.

Together, we aim to encourage participation in youth basketball and assist the development of local youth by stressing the importance of commitment, discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship and hard work. Each player receives a reversible Junior Warriors jersey included in the fee. Players should wear athletic shorts and comfortable athletic shoes (no black soles).

Practices will be held at Diablo Vista Middle School, Los Cerros Middle School and John Baldwin Elementary School.

Danville's Teen Centers ensure a secure and enjoyable place for teens after dismissal during the school year. Teens can participate in team building, arts and crafts, movie clubs, and more. Our trained recreation staff will create a healthy and engaging after-school environment for your teens. The Teen Centers will open after Labor Day weekend and follow the San Ramon Valley Unified School District calendar. On regular school days, the centers will stay open until 5:30 PM, and on minimum days, they will stay open until 4:30 PM. Additionally, the centers will remain open until the last day of school. IKEBANA FLORAL DESIGN & ARRANGING WORKSHOP

This class is an introduction to watercolor and a good start to learning how to paint. Participants will learn to use the right amount of paint and water, mix colors, and explore watercolor textures and techniques. We'll paint from a photo, you can bring your own or use one of the provided ones to the class. Suggested materials for students: watercolor paints any set tubes or pans (matte colors), watercolor painting paper pad, watercolor brushes (multipurpose pack brushes will work), palette, cup for water, paper towels.

Join us for a Hollywood themed whodunnit full of thrills and suspense at the estate of “Sir Warren Peace.” He has invited his worst enemies to a gala knowing that he will inevitably be murdered. One of the invitees is the murderer and it falls on his guests to solve the crime and the winning team to do so will inherit his fortune. Bribe suspects for clues and gather information to uncover the unhinged guest who is murdering the other guests. Watch your back as you could be next! Dress your best in your evening wear and suits (not required but encouraged). This is a party to die for, after all.

Jacki Sorensen’s Aerobic Dancing is a dance fitness class that provides a total body workout that includes strength, flexibility, and endurance in a safely choreographed format that combines cha-cha, waltz, samba and swing steps. This class is designed to be taken 2 days per week, especially for new students and is suitable for all adults, including active seniors.

Wear supportive athletic shoes and bring a floor mat. Handheld 2-4 pound weights are recommended but not required. No class 11/11, 11/27, 11/28 & 12/2.

Pick up the pace with two specifically designed walking poles.

Want to learn how to make an Ikebana flower arrangement with fresh flowers, greeneries, and branches? Or expand your Ikebana ideas and knowledge? Or just like to enjoy beautiful flower arrangements? In this live demonstration, Cindy Sensei will make Ikebana arrangements that express summer and autumn by using the seasonal materials. Cindy Sensei has been doing Ikebana since 1997 and has been teaching Ikebana for over 5 years. What is Ikebana you ask? Ikebana is the Japanese style flower arrangement that emphasizes an expression in three dimensions composed of plant materials. It is important to carefully observe the materials, choose and express them in their most beautiful aspects when making Ikebana arrangements. At the end of the demonstration, Cindy Sensei will give away one Ikebana arrangement as an appreciation to the audiences. We hope to see you there.

WALK-TOBER: A 5K WALK FOR YOUR HEALTH Age 55Y & Up | Town Staff

Come and walk a 5K for your health at Osage Station Park and then celebrate with a BBQ lunch at the Osage Picnic Area. Register with a current walking buddy or meet a new one on the trail. If you are not comfortable with a 5K, don't be discouraged! Just walk what you can and meet us in the picnic area! 1, 2 or 3 laps, you decide.

Participants will receive a long-sleeved Walk-tober t-shirt and goodie bag with health resources. Registration includes lunch hot off the grill and a goodie bag. Join us and feel good about your health!

We will enjoy lunch at the historical landmark, Moss Beach Distillery, a designated California Point of Historical Interest. The restaurant's history includes a popular speakeasy and a famous ghost. The restaurant is located on the cliff above a secluded beach and was a perfect location to benefit from the clandestine activities of Canadian rum-runners during the Prohibition era. After lunch, we will stop at Pastorino's Farm for some fall shopping. This time of year, Pastorino's offers pumpkins and pumpkin pies, a retail nursery year-round for plants, cut flowers, and gifts. Lunch on the cliffs and a little fall shopping makes for a great day! Activity Level 2 - some uneven ground at Pastorino's Farm. Fees include round trip transportation by bus, lunch and time at Pastorinos.

Enjoy an afternoon in the wine county of the Livermore Valley. We will be traveling by bus to Garré Vineyard and Winery. Historians have traced viticulture activity in the Livermore Valley back to 1832!

Garré family wines have been traced back to the early 19th century to a small village outside of Genoa, Italy. You will enjoy 3 wine tastings followed by lunch at this beautiful location. Price includes round trip motor transportation, lunch and 3 wine tastings.

Egg Carton Bees Craft Materials:

Visit this page each issue to see what I'm up to this season! I love to learn new things and get creative! Look for a new activity in every issue of the Activity Guide. Test your skills and have fun!

• Yellow paint and paintbrush

• White construction paper

• Googly eyes

Directions : 1.

Cut your egg carton into sec tions. You’ll need one section per bee.

Paint your egg carton section with yellow paint and let dry. (If your egg car ton is dark, you can paint it white first and let it dry. Then paint yellow over the white.)

3. Make a small snip in the bottom, front edge of your painted egg carton. Slip one end of a piece of black yarn into the slit.

4. Wrap the black yarn aro und your yellow bee body.

Make another small slit on the opposite, back end of your bee body. Slip the end of your yarn into the slit to hold it in place. Cu t off any extra yarn.

5. Glue some googly eyes onto your bee’s face. (We like to use glue dots or quick drying glue.)

Draw a mouth using a black marker.

6. Cut out some small wings from your white construction paper and glue on top of your bee.

Policies & Procedures GENERAL INFORMATION Pre-registration with payment is required for program participation. Payment must accompany registration form.

The Waiver of Liability on the registration form must be signed prior to taking a class.

Advise Town staff if participant has a disability or allergy requiring special accommodations.

Class registration form may be sent ahead of registration date. All class registrations submitted prior to the first day of registration will be entered on the appropriate registration date, with no priority given.

PHOTO/VIDEO LIABILITY DISCLOSURE Photographs and video may be taken of participants during a class or program, and these photographs and video may be used for Town of Danville publicity purposes.

RAINOUTS AND CLASS MAKE-UPS Whenever possible, make-ups will be given on those occasions when inclement weather or instructor illness requires that a class be canceled. See instructor at next scheduled meeting for make-up date.

No refunds (whole or partial) can be given for classes missed by the student.

WAITLISTS Waitlists will be created once a class has reached maximum enrollment. If space becomes available, you will be contacted.

AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT

WITHDRAWALS (CREDITS/REFUNDS)

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Town of Danville encourages those with disabilities to participate in our programs. If you have any special needs that require specific accommodations so you can fully enjoy our classes and programs, call 925-314-3400.

Requests for withdrawal will be honored if requested no later than seven business days prior to the first day of class. There will be a $5 withdrawal fee assessed for each activity.

COURSE CANCELLATION

Requests made less than seven business days prior to the first day of class must be submitted in writing and will be considered on an individual basis.

When registration winters below the minimum enrollment required, it may be necessary to cancel a class or program. At the time of cancellation, the Town will initiate a full refund-minus transaction fee. Check refunds may take 4–6 weeks.

A $20 processing fee will be charged for processing refunds made by check. We do not provide cash refunds.

Withdrawals for sports leagues may be approved if a team can be replaced before the first game.

RESIDENCY STATUS CLARIFICATION Those living outside the Danville Town limits include residents of the communities of Alamo and Diablo, Alamo Creek, Bettencourt Ranch, Blackhawk, Bryan Ranch, Monterosso, Shadow Creek and Whitegate housing developments.

The program and facility fees cover a large portion of the actual costs, though Town of Danville residents also partially support the classes, events and facilities through their property tax assessments.

Because of this, those program participants and individuals reserving Town facilities who live outside of Danville pay an additional non-resident charge. If you have any questions about this information, call 925-314-3400.

Special Notice to Alamo Residents living in the Alamo County Service Area: all Alamo residents are eligible to register for Town-sponsored programs scheduled at Hap Magee Ranch Park during the resident registration period.
