HarperCollins Publishers announced it will build a state-of-the-art supply chain logistics facility in Brownsburg. The new 1.6 million-squarefoot hub, set to open in 2028, will leverage the most advanced technology available to improve efficiency, enhance fulfillment accuracy, reduce waste, and increase visibility and control over the supply chain.
The new facility will utilize automation to increase efficiency, speed, and reliability. With the capacity to ship more than 300 million books annually, it will allow for continued growth and future acquisitions.
“HarperCollins has experienced significant transformation and growth over the last 15 years, and now is the time to expand our North American footprint,” said Brian Murray, President and CEO, HarperCollins Publishers. “This state-of-the-art facility is an investment in our authors, our customers, and the future of our business, positioning us for growth.”
The facility is expected to create more than 400 supply chain logistics jobs and an additional 375 jobs during the construction phase.
“We are thrilled that HarperCollins Publishers chose to build this state-of-the-art facility in Brownsburg,” said Town Council President Travis Tschaenn. “HarperCollins’s investment in our community will bring new, exciting employment opportunities and helps establish Brownsburg as an ideal location for business growth at the international level.”
Brownsburg Square is officially fully leased with the opening of Ulta Beauty during the summer. The 13,232-square-foot store, located at 907 N. Green Street, brings the nationally recognized beauty retailer to Brownsburg, marking a major milestone in the shopping center’s transformation.
With Ulta’s arrival, Brownsburg Square achieves 100% occupancy, marking the completion of a series of improvements that have transformed the center into a vibrant retail destination for the Brownsburg community. Property owner Cole Group Realty initiated extensive renovations beginning in 2022 to modernize the 200,000-square-foot retail center in the heart of the Town’s commercial corridor. These improvements included exterior upgrades, the introduction of new retail concepts, and a redesigned site plan with enhanced access points
as part of the revitalization strategy.
“Ulta’s opening marks not just the completion of a project, but the beginning of a vibrant new chapter for Brownsburg,” said Cole Group Realty. “We are thrilled to be a part of it”
Today, the shopping center hosts a variety of national brands, such as Kroger, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Michaels, Five Below, and Crumbl Cookie. Additionally, in 2024, Chipotle opened a free-standing location within the shopping center.
To support this reinvestment, the Town of Brownsburg installed a new traffic signal in 2021 at Northfield Drive and the Kroger entrance, improving safety and traffic flow for shoppers and area residents.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Ulta to Brownsburg Square and celebrate the completion of this redevelopment,” said Town Council President Travis Tschaenn. “These improvements reflect our continued efforts to attract quality businesses, support local investment, and enhance infrastructure in key commercial areas.”

Why did I receive a letter about my service line?
In October 2024, new federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations require the Town of Brownsburg to identify and document materials used in drinking water pipes. Homeowners must be notified if their water service lines are made of lead (Pb), galvanized steel that is or was downstream of lead, or unknown materials.
The letter does not mean that lead is present in your drinking water. The EPA and Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) require all
public water systems to send this notification to customers annually.
Is my water safe to drink?
Yes. The Town of Brownsburg Water Utilities Department treats, tests, and distributes safe drinking water to you and the community. Water provided by the Town of Brownsburg is lead (Pb)-free when it leaves our treatment plants, and our water mains (the pipes that distribute water throughout the community) are not made of lead. The Town of Brownsburg manages water quality at each treatment facility to help prevent corrosion
throughout the system and in privately-owned service lines and plumbing.
We regularly test our water for lead and other contaminants in accordance with EPA and IDEM standards. Our water consistently meets or exceeds all federal and state safety standards, and to our knowledge and according to records in the past 15 years, lead has not exceeded the EPA’s action level of 15 ppb (parts per billion).

With a background in emergency medical services and a passion for continuous learning and growth, Brownsburg’s Fire Captain Justin Butts embodies the spirit of fire service.
Justin’s journey into emergency medical services started early as he took an EMT class in high school, driven to serve others after losing a close family member, a loss that profoundly influenced his path. After graduating, he spent the summer volunteering and took a semester off before enrolling in a paramedic program at Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne, IN. From there, he worked as a paramedic as he was drawn to the rescue side, and after several
years, he became a flight medic on a helicopter for a hospital in Fort Wayne.
However, over time, Justin found himself wanting to give more of himself. “You kind of hit these points where you want to do more than you currently are,” Justin said.
A friend invited him to a live fire training, and that experience sparked a new passion in Justin
as he was fascinated by the hands-on nature of the fire service. Through this experience, Justin was hired on in Brownsburg as a medic while he worked through the fire hiring process, spending two months as a civilian medic before starting the fire academy.
After finishing the academy, Justin went all in within this role.
What he loved most was the balance – he could be a medic on the engine, train in search and fire tactics, and spend time behind the firehouse hooking up hydrants and practicing flowing water.
“There was never a moment where I felt that my abilities and knowledge in
fire training were capped out,” he says. “Brownsburg was always willing to provide opportunities for training classes.”
When a leadership opportunity emerged for Justin, he saw a chance to shape the department’s culture. His lieutenant promotion proved that collaboration was key. “I want to be that guy for the next guy,” he stated. This mindset then carried into his Health and Safety Chief role and into his current role as Fire Captain, stationed at Station 131.
