Cancellations Except for fitness classes with drop-in access, a minimum number of registrations must be completed for a class to run. The Town reserves the right to cancel any course. Registrants will receive notice of cancellation prior to the course start date.
Wait List If a program is full, you may place your name on a wait list. You will be contacted when space becomes available or if additional programs are added.
Refunds Full refunds are issued only when programs are cancelled by the Town of Blackfalds. Any refunds requested can be left as a credit on the account, for up to one year, for future use. Additional refund information can be found online.
Activities Registrants can withdraw or transfer from activities up to 3 days prior to the start of activity. Withdrawls or transfers will be subject to an administration fee.
Memberships Annual members can choose to freeze their account, provided that there is at least one week remaining on their membership, with the required form filled out.
Membership & Admission All membership rates include GST. Annual passes are a one year commitment. Memberships are available to all users regardless of community or county of residence. All members and guests require a paid admission (wristband) to be in the Field House (with the exception of rentals). Membership Age Category

Ages 2 - 4 This parented program includes story time, open-ended art, and play. Adults must accompany children (registration required for all children). Please bring socks, indoor shoes, and a water bottle.
Ages 3 - 5 Drop off your child for a fun afternoon with us! We will craft and play while we make new friends. This program is unparented. Children must be fully potty trained to attend. Please bring socks, indoor shoes, a water bottle, and an extra change of clothes.
Ages 0 - 6 For parents and caregivers of children 0-6 yrs. Drop in to socialize and connect, while your children engage in unstructured playtime in our indoor play space.

This fun social class on the track has a brisk-pace which will challenge you to increase your cardio and strength using circuit training techniques. Emphasis will be placed on safe postpartum movement and core/pelvic strength. All fitness levels welcome. Please bring a water bottle & ensure all stroller wheels are clean prior to going on the track.
Join us for a high-energy 1-hour Tabata class, where we mix intense 20-second bursts of exercise with quick 10-second rest periods. It’s a fun and fastpaced way to challenge your strength and endurance while burning calories! Please bring indoor shoes, water bottle & sweat rag.
With this type of yoga, you move your body slowly and deliberately into different poses that challenge your strength and flexibility, while at the same time focusing on relaxation and mindfulness. This class is all about getting the body moving and the heart pumping! Each class offers a different, but always fun challenge - combining a range of high-intensity aerobic and body-weight exercises.
This class will improve muscle definition with strength exercises and lifting to your max. After your muscles have been worked, we will slow down for a focused stretch session.
TOTAL BODY BLAST This class combines cardio training and resistance to tone and sculpt your body. These full-body workouts are ideal for losing fat as they target each muscle group.
BUTTS & GUTS This class focuses on building muscle using targeted exercises to strengthen & tone your hips, abdomen, glutes, and lower back.
BOOTCAMP: CIRCUIT This bootcamp combines cardiovascular and strength training exercises while keeping your body moving using weights, tubing, Bosu, mini bands and more.
WALKING GROUP This is a community meet-up group for walking enthusiasts to connect and stay active. A leader will be there to motivate, guide, and lead a stretch session at the end for those interested.

for Drop-In Access to Registered Fitness Classes Exclusively at the Abbey Centre
How Does Drop-In Work?
To attend various fitness classes, you can either get a punch pass or pay for a day pass. If you're already an Abbey member, you get to enjoy drop-in classes for free!
Book Your Spot
Secure your place in the class you want by registering by 8 pm the day before. You can easily create an account online at blackfalds.ca/register or visit the Abbey Centre in person. Don't worry; we'll help you set up your account if needed! Just call 403.885.4039 or email guestservices@blackfalds.ca during business hours. Please note that drop-in registrations cannot be done over the phone or via email.
Check In & Pay
Members, once you've reserved your spot, make sure to check in. Guests need to visit Guest Services to pay for regular admission before the class begins. We accept Abbey Centre gift cards, cash, debit cards, Visa, and Mastercard. Everyone will receive a wristband and drop-in access card.

Anime & Otaku Club Come watch anime and trade your old manga for new books! Warning: there are instances of violence and swearing in all of the anime. We avoid all sexuality and nudity. Ages 8+, drop-in
Adult Walk Club Let’s meet at the library front doors, or at a place in the area and go for a walk! Make new friends, chat, and enjoy the fresh air! Contact the library for meeting places.
Reading Buddies If you have a reader (ages 6+) who needs practice, we have the program for you! Our teenage volunteers will listen and help your reader to gain experience and confidence with their reading. Ages 6+
Adult Book Club Ink-Drinkers & Shelf Indulgence We read a book and chat about it at the library! Ink-Drinkers reads literary fiction and non-fiction (usually) and Shelf Indulgence reads genre fiction and nonfiction. We generally get our copies through the library system if possible. Everyone gets to put in the title and author of a book they are interested in reading, and we draw them out of a jar. Ages 18+
JAVA Minecraft ONLINE If you have JAVA Minecraft, sign on to our Realm and play Minecraft with us online! We use Discord to chat while playing.
Miniature Painting Club Bring miniature figures, paint & brushes and get your art on! Ages 10+
