2024 Fall Program & Activity Guide

Page 1

As I write this our community is still in the midst of the mid-summer heat, and there are a few weeks of summer activities and programs here in Blackfalds. I know I have enjoyed so many events in town including Blackfalds Days, Youth Week, Seniors' Week, Summer Culture Series and I have taken full advantage of our parks and trails. I’ve even been privileged enough to welcome some amazing ball tournaments to Sterling Industries Sports Park which has been seeing many improvements this year including the football field that will be completed for the 2025 season, and new trails to connect that recreation area and the Iron

Mayor 's Message

Ridge Secondary Campus which will welcome its first students this fall.

As always, we look ahead to what’s next; I’m now starting to notice the stores are beginning to display school supplies, and even a few Halloween decorations on their shelves which is a sure sign of the end of the season. The Town has been busy preparing for fall and winters activities, and that includes bringing back some old favorites like the Monster Bash, and Winter Warmth Fundraiser, I am told there are some fun new activities being planned!

Of course the holiday season brings exciting events like Snacks with Santa and Light Up Blackfalds, and as always the Abbey Centre

has a bounty of programs and classes to help keep our community active and engaged throughout the Fall and Winter.

Stay up to date on all activities, initiatives, and more on the town website by visiting www.blackfalds. ca or connect with us on Facebook, Instagram or X #myblackfalds #visitblackfalds. On behalf of Town Council Happy Holidays to all, and feel free to get in contact with any of us if you have thoughts or questions!
