FLORAL DESIGN

Age: 8 to 11 years

Create your own bouquet of flowers in this Floral Design workshop. Your child will have many different options of flowers and will learn about the process of putting together and taking care of their own bouquet. A creative workshop, activating senses and creativity.

AURORA BARBARIANS – LEARN TO RUGBY

Age: 7 to 10 years

Location: Aurora Sports Dome

Completely safe with zero contact to introduce you to the game of rugby. These sessions will be geared towards body movements, with lots of games including running, evasion skills, change of direction/ pace and ball movement. T-shirt included.

AURORA BARBARIANS – LEARN TO RUGBY

This non-contact session is geared towards learning how to play touch/flag rugby through mini/modified games. These sessions will be filled with fun challenges, while learning how to play rugby. T-shirt included.

Your dancer will enjoy learning how to jump, groove and lip-sync to the music. Each class will consist of learning the basics of jazz and musical theatre. Join the fun and let your dancer develop their confidence and creatively express themselves.

ENGINEERING FOR KIDS – JR. ROBOTICS & MARINE ENGINEERING

Age: 4 to 6 years

Learn about marine engineering and mechanics, how to harness the power of water, and discover designs that help us make the impossible possible. Then, using robots, build and code a Floodgate for flood prevention.

FILM IN A BOX – STOP MOTION LEGO® & CLAY

Age: 7 to 13 years

Location: SARC

Bring your LEGO®, action figures, toys and clay to life. Using our equipment, your props and under the guidance of a master filmmaker, young filmmakers learn how to storyboard, develop a script, create camera angles, edit, add special effects, music and titles. The result will be a stop motion blockbuster to enjoy on the big screen with family and friends. We supply all of the equipment, including MacBooks, HD cameras, art supplies and clay. Movies can be streamed on our private portal following the completion of the workshop.

Fit And Fun

This program will focus on creating an environment to make fitness fun. Helping participants develop skills that will actively challenge their abilities and increase their health, while mixing in fun, play, games and activities. The goal is to integrate and create a passion for exercise.

GIRLS GOT GAME BASKETBALL SKILL DEVELOPMENT & HOUSE LEAGUE – EMPOWERMENT THROUGH SPORT

ENGINEERING FOR KIDS – MINECRAFT URBAN INNOVATIONS

Age: 7 to 11 years

Location: Aurora Town Square

Design, create, and make your very own city come alive using Minecraft. Explore a variety of themes centered around scientific, sustainable, innovative, and futuristic city planning and design. Kids will immerse themselves in Minecraft, while applying the Engineering for Kids design process to create a model of their very own, futuristic and sustainable city.

Age: 9 to 13 years

Action, adventure, comedy and suspense await you. The result will be a blockbuster to enjoy on the big screen with family and friends. We supply all of the equipment, including MacBooks, HD cameras, tripods, boom mikes and even a green screen. Movies can be streamed on our private portal following the completion of the workshop.

This program focuses on girls who are interested in learning the game of basketball and developing their skills while building confidence. The emphasis will be on skill development and learning the team concepts of basketball in a fun and interactive environment. There will be 30 minutes of skill development/team concepts, followed by 30 minutes of game play with older female athletes (such as coaches and officials), providing positive role modeling for the younger participants. Note: This is for GIRLS ONLY and no experience is necessary. We are proud to play like girls!

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS

INTRO TO SOCCER

Age: 6 to 10 years

Location: Aurora High School

This Intro to Soccer program will provide players with the basic skills, drills, rules and opportunity to develop as a player. Participants will enjoy a warm-up, new skills, practice opportunities and a scrimmage game at the end of each class. Participants will be dribbling and scoring in no time.

JUNIOR BAKER

Age: 7 to 12 years

This hands-on introductory baking class will provide children with an opportunity to experience the joys of baking while having fun and even being a little messy. Each session provides new recipes. Age: 7 to 12 years

KIDS GREAT MINDS – CARTOON COMPUTER ANIMATION

Age: 6 to 11 years

Location: AFLC

Come unleash your imagination in this program by creating your own animated cartoon movie. You will be guided step-by-step in a computerized environment, as you create and watch your cartoon come to life. This course develops logical and motor skills, stimulating creativity and self-expression. At the end of the program, children will be sent their animated movies.

KIDS GREAT MINDS – PC INTERACTIVE GAME CREATION

Age: 8 to 11 years

Location: AFLC

Children will learn a visual programming language that allows them to create and play their own video games on a PC using a simple language and entirely icon-based interface. They will learn advanced game design concepts in a simple, direct and intuitive manner. There are 20 different characters with different abilities, along with multiplayer and multi-level options. This intelligent screen time is an excellent opportunity to introduce kids to computer programming.

KIDS GREAT MINDS – VIRTUAL REALITY CHARACTER DESIGN

Age: 8 to 12 years

Location: AFLC

This camp is for every child interested in 3D Character Design and Virtual Reality (VR). Campers will learn how to create industry level, high resolution and textured 3D characters from their favourite movies and video games. These characters will later be added to their own personalized environments that can be used in animations, video games and seen with VR devices. KGM will bring in the VR goggles so campers can enjoy their amazing work.

Join us for an hour of games, exercising, movement activities and more. Participants will be introduced to a variety of equipment and challenges that will get their bodies moving and keep them healthy and strong. *No class on: May 22

KIND & CONFIDENT – YOUNG YOGI’S

Age: 6 to 8 years

Location: Aurora Town Square

Our Young Yogis will engage in a calming weekly program that deepens a mind body soul connection. This program includes children’s yoga, mindful crafting, breathing activities and more.

MAD SCIENCE – STEM ODYSSEY

Age: 6 to 12 years

Location: AFLC

In this introductory STEM program, kids will explore a variety of topics and learn about the wonders of both life and physical sciences. They will explore themes and answer questions, such as “What makes your hair stand up?”, “Is it a magnet or magic?”, and “Just what are carbs anyway?”.

STARRY PARADISE – MANDARIN BEGINNERS

Age: 7 to 12 years

Location: Aurora Town Square

This program introduces children to aspects of the Chinese culture. Children will learn to speak, read and communicate in Mandarin. Children will build their Mandarin vocabulary, as well as communication skills through interactive exercises, worksheets, stories and more. Please have pencil and paper ready before class.

OLYMPIA

Age: 8 to 12 years

Location: AFLC

Stay active with this exciting multi-sport program. Olympia will allow your child to play a variety of sports in a non-competitive environment. Concentrate on developing skills, playing with peers, and becoming familiar with important technique.

PLAYBALL – BALL HOCKEY

Age: 6 1/2 to 8 years

Location: ACC

Learn and practice your skills in a fun and non-pressured way. Learn the rules, develop more confidence, learn teamwork and practice strategies like attack and defense. All lessons remain fun-filled and non-competitive. Each child’s needs are taken into consideration. This program is a great way for participants of all abilities to be part of the team.

RUNNING CLUB

Age: 7 to 12 years

Location: AFLC

This community-based running club is for children who want to learn new skills and have fun running with others. It is a non-competitive program. All fitness levels are welcome. Simply do your best and compete against your own time. Learn to build endurance, practice proper running form, pacing, injury prevention and nutrition. Each week you will meet at the AFLC Lobby: we will be running on trails at Lambert Willson Park.

STARRY PARADISE – FUTURE ARTIST

Age: 7 to 12 years

Location: Aurora Town Square

Children will learn drawing and art skills in sketching through lines, shapes and shading. Children will be proud of their artwork and build their artistic knowledge to better present their future projects in this learning journey. Please have sketchbook/paper, pencil, eraser, Sharpie, colouring materials (for example – crayons, markers, oil pastels) ready before class.

Join us for a day full of activities including arts and crafts, sports, songs, games and more. Please provide snacks, drinks and a lunch each day. Please be advised that we are NUT AWARE. Please do not send any products that contain or may contain nuts. Please bring indoor shoes and outdoor clothing/layers, as we plan to go outside. Note: Drop-off time from 8:30am to 9:00am. Pick-up time from 4:00pm to 4:30pm.
