LEADERSHIP Second Chance

The Second Chance Program assists candidates who were unsuccessful in passing one of the key leadership courses designed to help them become a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor. Candidates will get a "second chance" to register for the course they were unsuccessful on with a 50% cost reduction. Conditions apply. Applicable courses include:

•Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid

• Bronze Cross

• National Lifeguard

• Swim, Lifesaving and Emergency First Aid Instructor

Steps To Become An Aquatic Staff

In order to be considered for an Aquatic position, you must meet the following requirements.

• Current Bronze Cross (or higher) certificate.

• Current Ministry Approved Standard First Aid (or higher) certificate.

• Current Lifesaving Society Assistant Instructor (or higher) certificate.

• Must be 16 years of age (per R.R.O. 1990, Reg 565: Public Pools).

• Current National Lifeguard certificate.

• Current Ministry Approved Standard First Aid (or higher) certificate.

• Current National Lifeguard certificate.

The objective of the IEM Basketball League is to provide an opportunity for any person to participate in, or learn about, the game of basketball, as well as, to promote, develop and encourage children to enjoy the game of basketball.

HOP INTO SPRING!

Age: 2 to 4 years

The bees are buzzing and birds are chirping! Come hop into spring and join us as we celebrate the season. You and your little bunny will bounce along to songs, make a craft, and take part in spring themed activities. DAY

KING OF THE CASTLE

Age: 4 to 6 years

Location: SARC

Join us for an hour full of dragons, knights, princes and princesses!

Your little royals will hear a story from long ago, make their very own crown, and enjoy a castle building activity.

ABC 123

Age: 2 to 4 years

Location: SARC

Come join the fun as we explore the alphabet, numbers, colours and shapes with songs, finger plays, games and crafts in this fun-filled class. Parents and tots will practice all these concepts while having fun and making friends. Each class will involve creating a craft and other fun activities to go along with the daily theme. Please register each child individually. Maximum 2 children per adult.

I CAN BUILD THAT!

Age: 1 1/2 to 3 years

Location: SARC

Put on your hard hat and let’s get to work. You and your little builder will get to take part in sing-a-longs, sensory play and movement activities all about construction machines and tools. Participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

JUMPING JELLYBEANS

Age: 11 to 24 months

Location: SARC

This physical activity program introduces un-structured play and basic movement skills; encouraging strength and gross motor development. You will enjoy the time you share together as your little one explores the physical world around them, through movement, songs and use of a variety of gross motor equipment. Indoor footwear is required. Please register each child individually. Maximum 2 children per adult.

KIND & CONFIDENT – BEAMING BEGINNING

Age: 1 to 3 years

Location: Aurora Town Square

DANCE – BALLET

Age: 3 to 5 years

Location: ACC

Your little dancer will enjoy learning how to spin, twirl, and point their toes. Each class will consist of learning the basics of ballet. Join the fun and let your little dancer develop confidence and creativity. Parent/Guardian must remain in the program space for the entirety of the program.

DANCE – JAZZ

Age: 3 to 5 years

Location: ACC

Your little dancer will enjoy learning how to jump, step and groove to the music. Each class will consist of learning the basics of jazz dance. Join the fun and let your little dancer develop confidence and creativity. Parent/Guardian must remain in the program space for the entirety of the program.

An energetic mindful program for toddlers leaving your little ones feeling empowered. Including toddler yoga, mindful and nature play, affirmation singalongs and more.

KIND & CONFIDENT – KIND KIDDIES

Age: 3 to 5 years

Location: Aurora Town Square

Supporting preschoolers deepen a mind-body-soul connection, while fostering a love for learning. Including kids yoga, early learning through mindful and nature play, an empowering story time and more.

CONFIDENT – LITTLE LEADERS

Age: 4 to 6 years

Location: Aurora Town Square

Fostering a growth mindset and growing kind. Our Little Leaders will deepen a mind-body-soul connection. Including kids yoga, mindful crafting, gross motor activities and more.

KINDERFUN

Age: 2 to 4 years

Location: SARC

This super fun class encourages you and your child to discover the world around you by using your senses. Water, sand, finger paint, games and themed crafts will challenge and entertain you and your child. Get ready to get messy and leave the clean up to us. Please register each child individually. Maximum 2 children per adult. Participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

LITTLE SLUGGER – INTRO TO BASEBALL

Age: 4 to 6 years

Location: Aurora Heights Public School

This unique program teaches your child the basics of T-ball. Participants will learn to hit the ball from the tee, catch, throw, run the bases and other skills to help them become little baseball players. Your little slugger will build friendships, make memories and gain confidence for a great start to playing baseball. Parent/Guardian must remain in the program space for the entirety of the program.

MINI HOOPS

Age: 4 to 6 years

Location: AFLC

This class is a great introduction to the basics of basketball while encouraging teamwork and cooperation. This program will introduce your child to basic skills such as shooting, dribbling and passing while focusing mainly on the fun of the game. Parent/Guardian must remain in the program space for the entirety of the program.

KINDY CLUB

Age: 3 to 5 years

Location: SARC

Children will learn socialization, independence and creative skills through play and hands-on activities. The day will begin with circle activities, followed by child-guided activity stations. Your child will need to have a nutritious snack each day, as well as indoor play shoes. Your child must be fully toilet trained. Staff will email registered participants to confirm orientation details.

MOVERS & SHAKERS

Age: 1 to 3 years

Location: SARC

This class emphasizes exploration, expression and imagination. Your child will develop body awareness, musicality, balance and coordination. This program will also introduce your child to basic movement skills, encouraging strength and gross motor skills. Participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
