Throughout the year it is important to prune different plants. This series of workshops will focus on the essentials of when and how to prune those plants. We will use selected shrubs and trees at Tower Hill to discuss and practice our pruning skills. Each workshop will cover making proper cuts, different forms of pruning and most importantly pruning plants at the correct time. Join wild edibles enthusiast Russ Cohen, author of the book Wild Plants I have Known…and Eaten, on a two-hour ramble around Tower Hill to learn about the comestible qualities of at least eighteen wild plant species. Keys to the identification of each species will be provided, along with info on edible portion(s), season(s) of availability and preparation methods, as well as general guidelines for safe and environmentally responsible foraging.
