Adult Learn to Sail Program Picks Up Speed
GPYC’s Adult Sailing program was highly successful this year, says new GPYC Adult Sailing Director James Cooper. Program participants include beginners or those who needed to brush up on skills that had not been tested in a while. “The GPYC Marine Activity Center was the perfect venue,” Cooper said. “We used the comfortable J22s for both group and individual lessons. In addition, each session included a crewed experience on Freedom, a 36-foot J111, racing Tuesday nights on Lake St Clair.” All participants in the program earned ASA certifications.
