In 2017, Hotels & More, Irish Welcome Tours and Trans Nordic Tours joined forces as founding members of Tour Partner Group, to create a new Northern European DMC group, under their existing brands.

JADE For Jade, the two key ingredients needed to truly understand & appreciate a place are history & nature - two things her native Ireland has in leaps & bounds. Outside of work Jade can be found serving up a feast in the kitchen, where she often makes her own bread & pasta. When not hanging out with friends or hiking, cooking is Jade’s favourite way to relax.

When she’s not the one doing the cooking her favourite meal is duck with a blackberry sauce!

Patricia spends much of her time at work making sure our IT applications are in tiptop condition. When she isn’t caring for those, she’s busy looking after her garden and ensuring her trees and plants are thriving. However no matter how busy things get she will always find time for her beloved cat Tara. When she thinks no-one is watching you may spot her sneaking a piece of Cadbury’s chocolate!

She counts herself lucky to be able to call both Porta Westfalica and Hanover in Germany her home, having been born in one and raised in the other. When Nina isn’t busy building the perfect tours for her clients she relaxes by building Lego models – a hobby she developed before moving to Denmark! Apart from Lego, what Nina loves most about Scandinavia is its far reaching appeal.

DAY 2: HAMPTON COURT – RHS GARDEN WISLEY

Journey to Hampton Court Palace. The grand Tudor palace impresses with its lavish state rooms, gorgeous gardens and world famous maze. In the afternoon head to the magnificent RHS Garden Wisley. Enjoy a traditional cream tea in this most tranquil of settings.

Transfer back to London for the evening.

DAY 3: GREENWICH – RIVER CRUISE

Begin with a visit to the royal district of Greenwich.

Consider visiting the Royal Observatory, the home of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), or take an awe inspiring journey through space at the Peter Harrison Planetarium. Travel into the centre of London via boat with City Cruises River Thames Cruise to discover the city from a different perspective. Finish at Westminster Pier where you can explore Westminster Abbey.

DAY 4: STONEHENGE – GIN DISTILLERY

Visit the famous prehistoric monument Stonehenge.

Break for lunch in the medieval city of Salisbury and spend some free time in the area. Discover Mompesson House which holds great insights into 18th century life in the heart of Salisbury. Alternatively, visit Bombay Sapphire Distillery to learn about the production of the famous gin.

DAY 5: LONDON SIGHTSEEING

Start with a half-day guided sightseeing tour round central London. Highlights include London’s famous landmarks; St. Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace and Tower Bridge. In the afternoon there will be free time to discover areas of central London independently.

DAY 6: WINDSOR – FERRY CROSSING

On your final day in England look forward to an excursion to lovely Windsor. Stroll round the charming town and visit Windsor Castle, the site of the 2018 royal wedding celebrations. Transfer to Dover for the return ferry.

DAY 2: EXETER – DARTMOOR NATIONAL PARK – PLYMOUTH

En route to Exeter take a detour to see Stonehenge.

On arrival in Exeter visit the beautiful Exeter Cathedral before continuing through the unspoilt landscape of Dartmoor National Park to the seafaring town of Plymouth. Enjoy an evening stroll upon arrival.

DAY 3: IDYLLIC FISHING VILLAGES – PRIDEAUX PLACE

Drive to the picturesque fishing villages of Looe and Polperro, before heading to Padstow to visit the magnificent Prideaux Place, where there will be an opportunity to enjoy a cream tea on site.

DAY 4: LAND’S END – ST. IVES

Panoramic trip to the steep coast of Land’s End, the most westerly point of England. This will be followed by a train ride on one of the most beautiful routes in the country from St. Erth to St. Ives. On arrival in St. Ives there will be plenty of time to explore the picturesque harbor town.

DAY 5: ST. MICHAEL’S MOUNT – TREBAH GARDEN

In the morning drive to the Bay of Marazion for a visit to the fascinating monastery island of St. Michael’s Mount.

Afterwards wonder round the tropical Trebah Garden, before ending the day in the coastal town of Falmouth.

DAY 6: TINTAGEL – RHS GARDEN ROSEMOOR

Excursion to Tintagel to the ruins of the legendary castle of King Arthur or alternatively a stop in the tranquil fishing village of Clovelly. Enjoy some time in the colourful RHS Garden Rosemoor.

DAY 7: BATH – LONGLEAT HOUSE

Drive to historic Bath for a city tour, before going to either the magnificent country estate Longleat House or to the Queen’s favourite place of residence, Windsor Castle.

BEST OF NORTHERN ENGLAND HIGHLIGHTS

In a nutshell, this trip gives you an insight into the beauties of northern England. Explore the past in historic cities of Chester & York, and dive into the Swinging Sixties on a tour of The Beatles city of Liverpool. As the perfect contrast to the bustling cities, you have the opportunity to explore three national parks and marvel at the fascinating landscapes.

Take the night ferry from Rotterdam to Hull. After the morning arrival, drive to the city of Liverpool, which has plenty to offer music and football fans alike. Start with a city tour which will include highlights such as Liverpool Cathedral and the Albert Dock - followed by a boat trip on the famous Mersey River. In the afternoon enjoy some free time to continuing discovering the city independently. Choose to either take part in a tour in the footsteps of the Beatles, where you pass the houses in which the musicians grew up or, alternatively, visit one of the many museums such as the famous Walker Art Gallery.

DAY 3: SNOWDONIA NATIONAL PARK – CONWY – CHESTER

Excursion to North Wales. Drive to Snowdonia National Park, which is home to Mount Snowdon, the third largest mountain in Great Britain. Next, stop in the market town of Conwy, which impresses with its imposing castle, before beginning the drive via Chester back to the hotel.

Alternatively spend the day in the historic city of Chester, which was once founded by the Romans and inspires with its numerous half-timbered houses. While there, you could visit the Arley Hall Mansion or the imposing Tatton Park Estate.

DAY 3: LOCH LOMOND – GLEN COE – FORT WILLIAM

Begin with a City tour in Glasgow to discover its main sights. Head to Loch Lomond for a boat trip on the lake and then drive through the breathtaking landscape of the Glen Coe valley to Fort William.

DAY 4: ISLE OF SKYE

Drive on the romantic panoramic road “Road to the Isles” to Mallaig with a photo stop at the Glenfinnan Monument. Take the ferry to the impressive Isle of Skye for an island tour and a visit to Dunvegan Castle. There will also be time to explore the island’s capital Portree.

DAY 5: LOCH NESS – INVERNESS

Drive over the Skye Bridge and photo stop at Eilean Donan Castle, which is known from films such as Highlander. Go on an excursion to the legendary Loch Ness and visit the ruins of Urquhart Castle, which offers wonderful views of the lake. Finally stop in the capital of the Highlands, Inverness, before going on to Aviemore.

DAY 6: CAIRNGORMS – ELGIN

Train ride with the Strathspey Railway through the beautiful landscape of the Cairngorms mountain range.

Afterwards visit a typical Scottish whisky distillery and enjoy a tasting. The journey continues to Elgin for a visit to the Cashmere Center and a possible visit of the ruins of the famous Elgin Cathedral.

DAY 7: PITLOCHRY – EDINBURGH

Drive to Edinburgh with a short break in the pretty holiday resort of Pitlochry. On arrival in Scotland’s capital, go on a city tour and visit the majestic Edinburgh Castle. There will then be some free time to explore Edinburgh’s many other highlights.

DAY 8/9: FERRY CROSSING

Drive through the Borders to catch the night ferry in Hull. On route stop in York, England if time permits. The journey home will continue the following day.

SCOTLAND’S CASTLES & GARDENS HIGHLIGHTS

This somewhat thematic trip will not only delight garden lovers. Experience a varied mix of fascinating masterpieces of garden culture and historical architectural treasures such as Cawdor Castle and Falkland Palace. Enjoy the natural beauty of Scotland and stroll through the alleys of the royal capital Edinburgh.

Night ferry crossing from Rotterdam to Hull. After the morning arrival, drive to the Scottish Borders where there will be an opportunity to visit the Rosslyn Chapel, one of the most beautiful churches in Scotland. From there continue on to Edinburgh.

DAY 3: EDINBURGH

Morning city tour of Edinburgh. Visit the mighty Edinburgh Castle which towers over the capital and houses the magnificent Scottish crown jewels which can be admired on a tour of this impressive fortress. The will be followed by a visit to the Royal Botanic Garden, one of the leading botanical gardens, which also offers a fantastic view of the city’s skyline.

DAY 4: FALKLAND PALACE – DRUMMOND CASTLE GARDENS – STIRLING

DAY 9/10: GLASGOW – FERRY CROSSING

In the morning go on a short tour of Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland. Afterwards drive to Hull to catch the night ferry. Arrive in Rotterdam the following day and continue the homewards journey.

Morning excursion to the Falkland Palace Hunting Lodge. Stroll through the luscious gardens before moving onto the artistically designed Drummond Castle Gardens, which are terraced with sculptures and fountains in Italian style. On route back to Edinburgh stop in Stirling, the former capital of Scotland.

DAY 1/2: NIGHT FERRY CROSSING

Night ferry crossing to Newcastle. Arrive on the following day and drive towards Scotland. There will be a stopover in the market town of Alnwick and a chance to visit Alnwick Castle, which is known from the Harry Potter films. Next the journey continues to Scotland’s capital Edinburgh.

DAY 3: EDINBURGH

Go on a morning city tour and walk in the old town along the Royal Mile from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to the impressive Edinburgh Castle, which looms above the city skyline. Afterwards go on a tour of Stevenson House and enjoy a traditional afternoon tea with the current owners.

DAY 4: SOUTH QUEENSFERRY – PERTH – DUNKELD

The first stop of the day is South Queensferry, a nice suburb right on the Firth of Forth. Embark on a boat trip with spectacular views of the three bridges, the beautiful panoramas of the city in the south and the Fife peninsula in the north. Journey onwards to the town of Perth and visit the impressive Scone Palace with its rich and long history. There will also be time for a walk through the peaceful gardens. We continue to the Dunkeld area. On arrival at the hotel there will be a special greeting from a bagpiper.

DAY 7: LOCH NESS – URQUHART CASTLE – MOUNTAIN GONDOLA

Drive along the legendary Loch Ness to Urquhart Castle for a visit the castle ruins. Continue along the lake and make a photo stop at Neptune’s Staircase not far from Fort William, an imposing lock system on the Caledonian Canal. Here an exciting ride on the Nevis Range Mountain Gondola will be possible. The gondola is the only one of its kind in Great Britain. On the route up to 650m altitude there are breathtaking views.

DAY 8: GLEN COE – LOCH LOMOND – LUSS – GLASGOW

Drive through the breathtaking Glen Coe valley to Loch Lomond with a stop in the idyllic village of Luss. Next visit the Glenside Farm and get an insight into the preparation of haggis. On to Glasgow for city tour of Scotland’s largest city. Finally, visit the National Piping Center to try your hand at playing the bagpipes or look over the shoulder of a typical Scottish kilt maker and watch as they perfect their craft.

DAY 9/10: NIGHT FERRY CROSSING

En route to Hull there will be a possible stopover in the medieval city of York if time permits. Afterwards embark on the night ferry for a morning arrival. The journey home will continue the following day.

DAY 5: ST. ANDREWS – GLAMIS CASTLE

Excursion to the small town of St. Andrews, which impresses with its seaside location and the medieval ruins. Go on a City tour to discover the highlights, before lunch at Mitchell’s Restaurant, which specializes in local delicacies. The day will end with a Visit to the famous Glamis Castle, where the Queen Mother spent her childhood.

DAY 6: ROYAL DEESIDE – SPEYSIDE – INVERNESS

Drive through the beautiful landscape of the Cairngorms National Park to Royal Deeside. Make a photo stop at Crathie Kirk, the church that the Queen visits regularly.

Drive to the Speyside region, known for its whiskey and visit the Speyside Cooperage, where whisky barrels have been made since 1947. This will be perfectly followed by a visit to a whisky distillery. The final destination of the day is the capital of the Highlands, Inverness.

The Nordic countries take on a whole new dimension in the winter. The snowy plains of Finland & Sweden are best explored via a husky safari or a snowmobile tour, a cross-country ski tour or a snowshoe hike to give you a much closer look at the beautiful landscape. In Iceland it is possible to not just see the magnificent glaciers but to walk on them too and feel their power beneath your feet.

GETTING THERE The tours on the following pages are designed for a ferry trip to Great Britain and Ireland. With this variant, you start your bus trip as usual directly from your home and take either the P&O night ferry from Rotterdam to Hull or the DFDS night ferry from Amsterdam / IJmuiden to Newcastle. You will spend the night in double cabins (inside) including breakfast on board.

However, if you decide on the flight option, the prices for the land arrangement including round trip bus from / to the airport apply. In addition, with this option, the local bus provision with selected, longstanding and reliable local partners is already included in the price. Drive along the beautiful Antrim Coast. Disembark and hike along the coast to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Giant’s Causeway (6 km, approx. 2 hours]. The coastal views during this hike are stunning, as are the impressive basalt columns of the Causeway. Continue to the historic city of Derry for a walk along the preserved city wall .

DAY 5: GLENVEAGH CASTLE – BEN BULBEN

Excursion to the natural paradise of Glenveagh National Park in the mountains of Donegal. Visit the Victorian Glenveagh Castle followed by a hike through the countryside (12 km, 4 hours, medium). Continue to Drumcliff where a view of Ben Bulben Table Mountain awaits.

DAY 6: CONNEMARA – KYLEMORE ABBEY

Panoramic drive through the wild and pristine Connemara area. Hike along the gorgeous Killary Fjord (3 hours]. Afterwards visit Kylemore Abbey or go on a bike tour through Cong as an active alternative.

DAY 7: DUBLIN

Drive to Dublin and discover its main sights on a city tour, before a potential visit the Guinness Storehouse.

DAY 8/9: FERRY CROSSING

Morning ferry crossing from Dublin to Holyhead. In the evening depart with the night ferry from Hull to Rotterdam and then return home the following day.

GET ACTIVE IN SOUTHERN NORWAY

Self-drive to Kiel and embark on the night ferry. The following day, look forward to a morning entry into the Oslo Fjord - the elongated fjord gives you a taste of what spectacular nature you can expect to find in Norway.

The group will be greeted at the pier by the tour guide, who will join the drive along the fjords north of Oslo through forests and into the mountains, where the first glaciers can be seen.

DAY 3/4: HIKE IN LAERDAL

Walk along the old Königstrasse in Laerdal; the old Königsweg connects Oslo and Bergen and is a leisurely first walk to start things off with.

DAY 5: FLAM – NAEROFJORD – FLOIBANEN – BERGEN

Start the journey with a night ferry through the Baltic Sea and look forward to the morning entry into the beautiful Oslo Fjord. Today we go through the longest tunnel in the world to the city of Flam; the beating heart of the fjord region.

Look forward to a boat trip through the UNESCOprotected Naerofjord to Gudvangen. From there we journey onward to Bergen. In the afternoon you can go for a walk through the old Hanseatic town of Bryggen and take the Floibanen up to the town’s local mountain. At the top there will be an opportunity to hike along numerous hiking trails, all of which open up an incredible panorama over the city.

DAY 6: PANORAMIC DRIVE – STAVANGER

The journey continues from Bergen further south - the panoramic drive inspires with the crossing of fjords and through numerous tunnels, whereby the sea can always be admired on one side and the mountains on the other. Alternatively, the first part of the route can be by boat through the branched fjord landscape south of Bergen for a laid back arrival in Rosendal. There will be an opportunity to take a short hike in the Folgefonna National Park before going to the oil capital Stavanger.

DAY 7: HIKE TO PULPIT ROCK – STRAAND

A bit outside of Stavanger, the ascent to the impressive Pulpit Rock begins. The ledge at its peak overlooks the Sunnfjord and inspires with a fantastic view over the long fjord. After the hike, head onwards to Straand.

DAY 8/9: NIGHT FERRY CROSSING

Drive to Oslo to embark on the night ferry. The homeward journey continues the following day.

Day 2: Kensington Palace – Chelsea – Tower of London

Get ready for an exhilarating day filled with adventure! It all begins with an exciting visit to Freetown Christiania.

Accompanied by a Christiania local guide, you will have the opportunity to learn all there is to know about this unique and extraordinary part of Copenhagen. Following this, continue your journey through the charming old marine station district and make your way to the vibrant street food market at Reffen. From there, embark on a watery exploration as you become the “Captain for a day” and navigate the meandering canals of Copenhagen in small boats. As the day winds down, immerse yourself in the enchanting atmosphere of Tivoli, one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. Lose yourself in the magical ambiance created by colorful lights and captivating music, allowing yourself to relive the joy and wonder of childhood once again.

Day 3: Vikings & Carlsberg

A short drive takes you to Roskilde, where you can explore the famous Viking Ship Museum on a private tour and get an introduction to Viking shipbuilding and culture. Afterwards you can feel like a Viking yourself and glide across the fjord on a lovingly built replica of a Viking boat. You can then enjoy lunch at the museum before heading to the UNESCO World Heritage Site – Roskilde Cathedral. The visit to the Carlsberg Visitor Center, which also houses the microbrewery where new Carlsberg beers are developed, and the subsequent tasting of the Danish national dish “Smørrebrød” will bring you back to the present at the end of the day.
