Graduate School of Technology

Technology is moving faster than ever—and more opportunities exist for digital professionals than ever before. At Touro Graduate School of Technology (GST), we ensure students are ready for successful careers in information technology, web development, cybersecurity, data analytics and more.

PREPARING TOMORROW’S TECHNOLOGY LEADERS TODAY

Students with state-of-the-art technology training remain very much in demand. GST offers several innovative programs leading to a master’s degree across all areas of technology. The Master of Science in Instructional Technology (ITP) gives teachers a competitive edge, enabling them to earn New York State professional certification as educational technology specialists. The degree also provides nonteachers with the ability to pursue education-based careers in corporate training, instructional design or distance learning.

We live in a digital world and our Master of Arts in Web and Multimedia Design (WMM) emphasizes how to create digital products using design, video and audio, animation and more. Future UX/UI (user experience/user interface) designers, product designers and creative professionals are taught to leverage research techniques and design thinking to create meaningful experiences for modern audiences.

From defending companies against hackers to utilizing data to make important management decisions, GST’s Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) is designed to shape the next generation of technology

leaders. This dynamic program offers concentrations in network administration and cybersecurity, data analytics and database, web and app development and project management. Students acquire the necessary tools to upgrade and fine-tune their managerial and technological skills— and stand out as innovators to prospective employers in the highly competitive information technology field.

Touro GST has collaborated with Cisco Systems to prepare students who enroll in the MSIS—Network Administration and Cybersecurity program to earn CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification concurrent with their M.S. degree. This program can open many doors and lead to networking and career opportunities.

COMMITTED TO STUDENT SUCCESS

GST alums can be found working in some of the most prestigious companies around the world, including BNY Mellon, J.P. Morgan Chase, Cisco, Google, IBM, Infosys, Microsoft, Urban FT and Verizon.

In addition to résumé and interview preparation, our dedicated career services team offers career advisement and job placement assistance. Technology workshops and seminars are regularly presented to current students, alumni and the public. And our expert faculty are working professionals in technology and design, allowing them to bring the latest trends to our graduate program. They combine a comprehensive, engaging curriculum with years of hands-on experience and current, real-world knowledge.

Brabim Hamal, M.S.

Senior System Engineer, Chardan Capital

Always enthralled with electronics, Brabim Hamal’s mother had to hide her computer when he was a boy, lest he take it apart and put it back together over and over again.

Hamal eventually left his home in Nepal, now a young adult who was free to take apart and rebuild computers with impunity. He attended college on a scholarship in North Dakota and later moved to New York City, where his roommate raved about Touro College Graduate School of Technology. “He was right,” says Hamal, who graduated in 2016 with a master’s degree in information systems. “The design of the curricula, the actual courses and the professors, I loved all of the experience. They made me feel at home and prepared me for the real world.”

They also help students secure the sorts of internships that lead to real-life jobs: For more than a year, Hamal was the IT manager for the Afghanistan Mission to the United Nations, eventually helping keep all communications working while the United States prepared to pull out of Afghanistan after two decades of war. “It was busy,” he says, in typical understatement. “But I worked hard and stayed calm.”

He continues to live that mantra today as a senior systems engineer at the investment firm of Chardan Capital Market LLC, in New York City. “I am part of this massive project to update the entire IT infrastructure and take it to the cloud,” he explains. “It’s challenging and, yes, as exciting as my previous job. I was ready for a different adventure, and I’ve found it.”
