Cody Benkelman Cody Benkelman gave the report for Laura Bebe and stated that the advertising of the Jet Blue non-stop flight to LAX has begun in county for outgoing flights and is about to 3
begin in Los Angeles for flights to PBC. Advertising is focusing on digital formats and paid social media. C.
CHECKPOINT #6 AUGUST COLLECTED SEPTEMBER*
Jergensen Hotel rooms sold in August were down (34.8%) with revenue down (32.3%) and occupancy down (38%) from 2019. For the FY2020 gross collections were down (20.1%) with our lowest point being in April. Mayers Expressed the desire to continue with the checkpoints and forecasts through Q1. He expressed concern about the group market and continued lack of group bookings. He expressed a need in the industry to understand who is traveling, where they are from, where they are traveling, and why they are traveling. Anderson Confirmed that convention centers across the U.S. are not seeing any group activity or bookings until late March, early April. Jergensen Shared research which shows Florida is the most desired travel destination in the Country, but at the same time backs up Mr. Anderson’s comments that group travel will not resume until April 2021. Beebe Air travel is still down 75% in August and September maybe in the 60% range. She expects capacity to increase as we near the holidays, but flights will remain down 50%. Mayers Asked about projections. Beebe Stated that predictions are difficult because airlines are making last minute decisions about flights. New York continues to have quarantine orders which suppresses service and New York was once one of our largest markets. On a happy note, Conde Nast has voted PBI the third best airport in the U.S. 6.

Two Minute Update- George Linley
Linley 42,000 room nights have been cancelled in conjunction with cancellation of events due to COVID. The Sports Commission still has 27 events scheduled for Q1 2021, which we are trying to save by implementing COVID mitigation procedures. Multi-team events are the most challenging, the large Lacrosse event relocated to Tampa due to concerns about bring thousands of participants to Palm Beach County. The Gainbridge LPGA 6
tournament may shift to the end of February in coordination with another Florida LPGA event. Bronstein Have grant amounts changed based on what is happening? Linley We have reduced most grants somewhat, but we believe that recovery depends on getting sports back up and running. So, we do not want to lose an event due to funding levels. We are closely monitoring what is happening and we are also adjusting room night formulas, recognizing that room nights will not be what they were pre-covid. D.
DISCOVER 1.
Miami Dolphins-Two Year Partnership*
Parks With the success of our Super Bowl activation we looked at other ways to partner with the NFL and Miami Dolphins. Currently, Dolphins stadium is wrapping the first ten rows of seats and not allowing anyone to sit in these rows. We are purchasing advertising on these wraps. Our intent is to market our brand in the South Florida market and also to build our brand in visiting team markets. The buy is $200,000 per yr. for two years and with this purchase comes: • 32 television spots on The Audible a CBS Miami program. • Game day protection – if a game is cancelled our purchase price will be decreased • A Belle Glade football camp will be attended by active Dolphin members and will include a Q & A session. • Palm Beach County will be highlighted in the game day program. This is a deeply discounted rate for advertising during a Dolphins game. In normal times, this advertising would cost upwards of $500,000 per year. Jergensen In November Discover will be bringing a new branding campaign for discussion. 2.
Two Minute Update- Jorge Pesquera
Lomrantz Discover achieved four out of five performance measures in 2020 even with the onset of COVID. Other updates: • Currently, we have been participating with Visit Florida and their recovery program. 7

In January 2021 Discover will also be holding a strategic plan refresh. Gustav Weibull has been invited to join Visit Florida Leadership Council. Discover has selected a local consultant to provide diversity training to staff and a date will soon be locked down for that training. FILM & TV 1. Two Minute Update- Chuck Elderd
Elderd Thirty years ago, when the TDC was first started we had zero national media coverage, we now have an abundance of national presence from the upcoming Dolphin stadium wraps, to equestrian, golf, NCAA events, and more. Update: • PBTV Watch Parties are a success with a reach of 217,000 for this weekly series. The following is a summary of TDC Performance measures for the month of November 2020. This report demonstrates trends relative to owned visitor digital footprint, advertising impressions, social media engagement, and booked room nights for the Month of November. We continue to be negatively affected by the COVID-19 crisis, particularly, with the recent increase in cases. October Hotel Performance
Total room inventory is 3.4% higher than last year, at 17,839. The Palm Beaches ranks 4th in room inventory growth in Florida. This was down from 2nd due to October marking the 1 year anniversary of the Aloft (122 rooms) and Courtyard (150 rooms) in Delray.
The number of room nights sold was 242,000, selling 27,000 more than September.
The Palm Beaches has 3.9% share of room nights sold in Florida, higher than 3.7% in 2019
Occupancy ended the month at 43.8%.
Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando and Daytona are all down in room inventory.
The Palm Beaches now ranks 8th, up from 10th in September
The average daily rate (ADR) was $133 decreasing 5.7% from 2019. This is due to lack of group business which generates compression and rate.
Luxury properties increased rate by 36% while rates at upscale properties were down 13%.
The Palm Beaches continues to rank 3rd in rate. Naples and The Keys had higher rates
RevPAR was $36 down, ranking 8th (down from 8th last month)

The strong month of coverage is a result of the following:
Domestically, we released our “What’s New” press release on the wire, which helped it receive more pick up. It’s also important to note that this was our biggest push during COVID-19, and the return of the Z-team helped us with the distribution as well as the pitching of the release, leading to overall greater figures this month.
Internationally, a piece focused on new hotel properties written by Rochelle Lash of the Montreal Gazette received syndication in more than 70 Canadian publications. Whenever she writes for us, it receives a phenomenal pick up.

DTPB MONTHLY SOCIAL MEDIA REPORT NOVEMBER 2020
KEY INSIGHTS
Commentary continues to be positive on Instagram - and we have seen a switch in attitude on Facebook. This month, we are continuing to see more positivity coming through. (This has to do with our audience on both platforms - Instagram has far more of a local presence, where we see our top audiences on Facebook coming from New York, New Jersey, etc.) This month on Linkedin - more lifestyle content performed vs. groups content for the first time in awhile. This may have something to do with the time of year being more festive and holiday event-focused. Instagram follower growth Is up 5.3% from last month. New Instagram record broken when a boosted post hit 10.2K likes.

Event Spotlight, FY 21 October 1 – November 30, 2020 The Palm Beach County Sports Commission (PBCSC) is carefully beginning its recovery stage for sports events in the post COVID-19 era, during FY 21. The Sports Commission’s “stage 2” recovery strategy begins the relaunch of sports events that attract participants from Florida’s drive market. During the months of October and November, the Sports Commission hosted 19 events representing 9 different sports. 16 of the events attracted visitors from across Florida and the southeast region while three events were approved with a national reach. Sports rights holders are modifying their events to allow for the rebound of sports events in a responsible manner. The 19 events are expected to generate 23,865 room nights.
Blue Line Hockey - Columbus Day Discovery Showdown, October 8 -11 The Palm Beach County Sports Commission supported Blue Line Hockey Tournaments, LLC and its efforts to bring the Blue Line Hockey - Columbus Day Discovery Showdown to the Palm Beaches on October 8-11, 2020. This youth ice hockey event took place at Palm Beach Skate Zone in Lake Worth and Palm Beach Ice Works in West Palm Beach. A total of 4 sheets of ice were utlized to accommodate 65 teams from across Florida and the southeast region. The event was sanctioned by USA Hockey and featured a variety of age groups from 8u to 18u. A total of 866 room nights have been tracked to date. Florida State Golf Association Mid-Amateur Championship, October 9-11 The Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) held its Mid-Amateur Championship at Maycoo Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach on October 9 – 11, 2020. The event included 144 golfers from across the state, which were over the age of 25. The Mid-Amateur Championship consisted of 54-holes of stroke play. Golf represents the first sport that returned to play in a post COVID-19 era from a leisure and event perspective. A total of 123 room nights were tracked. The Florida State Golf Association conducts more than 650 tournament days each year, including 38 state championships, and over 45 days of USGA qualifying events. United States Tennis Association (USTA) Florida Bobby Curtis Sectional Championships, October 10-12 The Palm Beach County Sports Commission partnered with Players International Management, Inc. to host a United States Tennis Association (USTA) Florida Sectional in October. The USTA Florida Bobby Curtis Sectional Championships took place at the Delray Beach Tennis Center, Delray Beach Swim & Tennis Club, and Boca Lago Country Club on October 10-12, 2020. The event featured 128 junior boys and girls tennis players from across the state with tennis matches spread out over three (3) sites and 32 courts. Strict guidelines to combat the spread of COVID-19 were adopted by Players International Management, Inc. Players will check in from their mobile devices and are only permitted to step on the court when previous players have cleared out. Temperatures will be checked prior to entering the facility and any person exceeding 100.4 will not be able to enter. Every person on-site must wear masks, except for competing players.
Okeeheelee Halloween Slam, October 22-25 The Palm Beach County Sports Commission supported the Okeeheelee Baseball Association, Inc in hosting the Okeeheelee Halloween Slam, which took place on October 22-25, 2020 at Okeeheelee Park and Lake Lytal Park in West Palm Beach. This youth baseball event attracted 50 teams from Florida competing in age groups that range from 8u to 16u. The Okeeheelee Halloween Slam represents the first youth baseball event to take place since the pademic began in March. While the room night generation is minimal, this event represents a major first step in terms of recovery for youth baseball properties. The Okeeheelee Baseball Association is planning on partnering with our Sports Commission to host a vareity of Cal Ripken Baseball and Babe Ruth League youth events, which would generate a strong hotel impact during the summer months. NPC Ultimate Grand Prix, October 24 Embassy Suites by Hilton in Boca Raton was home to the National Physique Committee (NPC) Florida Grand Prix on October 24, 2020. The event included over 250 total competitors, both male and female from across the state. The competition featured contests for national physique bikini, bodybuilding, men’s and women’s physique, classic physique, figure, powerlifting, max repetition competition, arm wrestling, and CrossFit. This event has taken place in Palm Beach County for several years as a national event. However, it was modified in 2020 as a statwide event due to the pandemic. TimberTech Championship (PGA Tour Champions), October 27 – November 1 Palm Beach County is home to the only PGA TOUR Champions event that takes place in southeast Florida, which is named the TimberTech Championship (formerly known as the Boca Raton Championship). The Palm Beach County Sports Commission worked diligently with Pro Links Sports, the management company that orangizes this PGA Tour Champions event, to create a modified event that would tee-off safely in a post COVID-19 era. This PGA Tour Champions event, which occured on October 27 – November 1, 2020, took place on the Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton. The Sports Commission relocated this PGA Tour Champions event (called the Allianz Championship at that time) from Iowa in 2007. The event has enjoyed a 13-year history in The Palm Beaches. The field consisted of 81 professional golfers, competing in 54-hole stroke play for a total purse of $2 million. The Golf Channel provides live television coverage of this 3-day tournament. Over 3 million viewers tuned in to watch the 7 telecasts of this event, which included 16 television commericals that were produced by Discover the Palm Beaches. This event would traditionally attract over 70,000 spectators. However, due to the pandemic, the TimberTech Championship did not permit spectators and eliminated the significant hospitality buildout that traditionally accomapneis a PGA Tour Champions event. Hosting this event signifes a huge step towards sports tourism recovery in 2021.
Monster Mash Lax Bash, October 31 – November 1 The Palm Beach County Sports Commission hosted the Monster Mash Lax Bash at Lake Lytal Park and Dyer Park in West Palm Beach on October 31 – November 1, 2020. This event represents the first lacrosse competition to take place since the onset of COVID-19. Over 60 lacrosse teams from across Florida participated. Both girls and boys lacrosse divisions were offered with age groups ranging from 9u – 18u. This event traditionally has a national reach. Due to COVID-19, only teams from Florida were permitted to compete. Nearly 200 room nights have been tracked. More importantly, this lacrosse event indicates a major step towards sports tourism recovery. Yamaha Champions Riding School, November 1-3 The Palm Beach County Sports Commission supported the Yahama Champions Riding School at Palm Beach International Raceway on November 1-3, 2020. The riding school featured high level motorcycle racing instructors that trained over 70 students traveling from across the nation. The instructors and students stayed at the Doubletree By Hilton - Palm Beach Gardens. Motorsports offers one of the few sports tourism products that is taking place during a post COVID-19 era. This school, which trains students for the competition of racing motorcycles, features participants of all ages and skill levels, novice to expert. The riding school teaches its students various disciplines needed for racing motorcycles, such as grip/traction, lead/follow, braking, downshifting, and film review. In addition to the on-course topics covered, off course topics such as mental focus is also covered. Men’s Senior Baseball League Fall Classic, November 7-20 The Men’s Senior Baseball League (MSBL) is the premier amateur baseball organization for adults 18 years of age and older. The MSBL Fall Classic is traditionally one of the largest amateur baseball tournaments for adults that takes place annually in the United States. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission partnered with FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches and Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium to host the MSBL Fall Classic, for the third straight year. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission worked diligently with MSBL to create a modified event that would take place in a very careful and responsible manner. The Men’s Senior Baseball League (MSBL) Fall Classic took place from November 7 – 21, 2020. The tournament featured seven (7) age groups (18+, 30+, 35+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+). Last year, 110 teams from across United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, and Peru participated.
In 2020, the event was restricted to less than 60 teams, which traveled from Florida and only nine (9) states. Participants traveling from outside of Florida were required to take COVID-19 tests. Only 12 out of the 24 fields located on the premises of Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium and FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches were utilized to create distancing. MSBL provided all participants with a reusable / cloth facial covering. The MSBL Fall Classic became the first national sports event to take place in The Palm Beaches, since the onset of COVID-19. The event was a tremendous success in terms of safe activation and represents a large step towards the road for sports event recovery. In 2019, the event generated over 6,000 room nights. In 2020, the event created just over 3,000 room nights and it will return to Palm Beach County during November of 2021. The MSBL Fall Classic was held for the 30th time in 2020. For 24 out of the last 30 years, this event took place on the west coast of Florida.
The First Tee’s Palm Beach County High School Golf Championships, November 12 The Palm Beach County Sports Commission partnered with the First Tee of the Palm Beaches to create the Palm Beach County High School Golf Championships. The Palm Beach County School District would not permit its schools to compete in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) State Golf Championships. In order to create a local and safe championship experience, the Sports Commission and First Tee of the Palm Beaches hosted a Tri-County Championship at Wellington National Golf Club. Hosting this local event played a significant contribution toward creating a pathway for statewide and national golf events to return. The event was limited to 85 teams and 300 golfers from South Florida.
Optimist International Tournament of Champions, November 14-15 The Optimist International Tournament of Champions took place on November 14-15, 2020 at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens. Tournament of Champions is for male and female junior golfers ages 11-18, attracting nearly 200 athletes. Optimist has been involved in the sport of junior golf for more than 30 years by holding local, regional and international tournaments. More than 5,000 golfers compete in official Optimist District qualifying tournaments. Florida Motorcycle Road Racing Association (FMRRA) Series, November 14 – May 23 The Palm Beach County Sports Commission is supporting the Florida Motorcycle Road Racing Association (FMRRA) Race Series, which is taking place at the Palm Beach International Raceway on November 14-15, 2020, December 5-6, 2020, February 27-28, 2021, April 10-11, 2021 and May 22-23, 2021. FMRRA provides a 9-race regional championship with 5 events held at the Palm Beach International Raceway. These events are sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), with points used as qualifiers for the national Moto America series. FMRRA separates its races into various divisions, which are determined by skill level, motorcycle style and engine size. FMRRA is becoming one of the state’s most competitive circuits in motorsports. Motorcycle racers from across Florida and the southeast region of the nation compete in this racing series. On average, over 100 competitors participate during each weekend of races. This event series will create a hotel impact.
Sun Conference Men’s & Women’s Soccer Championships, November 14-20 Keiser University held the Sun Conference Women’s Soccer Championship rounds from November 14-17, 2020 and the Sun Conference Men’s Soccer Championships from November 17-20. The Sun Conference Tournament took place on the campus of Keiser University in West Palm Beach. The Sun Conference, which has grown steadily in sports played, membership and national prominence, is an affiliate of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and is comprised of Florida and Georgia schools. These tournaments included four (4) women’s teams and four (4) men’s teams. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission maintains an ongoing partnership with Keiser University, which has led to Palm Beach County hosting a variety of conference and national championships under the NAIA affiliation. American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Evian International & Senior Showcase, November 20-22 The Palm Beach County Sports Commission partnered with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) in hosting the Evian Senior Showcase on November 20-22, on the Fazio Course at PGA National Resort & Spa. The event featured 144 high school senior golfers divided into boys’ and girls’ divisions. The event consisted of 36 rounds of stroke play. The event catered to uncommitted high school seniors in hopes of giving them another chance to find a college or university golf program. AJGA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. This organization hosted 120 tournaments in 2019. The event schedule was reduced in 2020 due to COVID-19. American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Rolex Tournament of Champions, November 23-28 The Rolex Tournament of Champions, which is the premier tournament of the American Junior Golf Association's season, took place at PGA National Resort & Spa from November 23-28, 2020. The 144-player invitation-only field is made up of boys and girls, ages 12-19, from 25 different states. This tournament features 72 holes of stroke play on the Champion and Fazio courses. Former champions include Stewart Cink (1989), Tiger Woods (1991), Grace Park (1994, 1996), Paula Creamer (2002) and Morgan Pressel (2004). The AJGA conducts 120 tournaments annually and consists of 7,200 junior golf members. The success of this organization is evident, considering that more than 300 AJGA alumni play on the PGA and LPGA Tours and have earned more than 900 Tour victories. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission worked closely with the AJGA to ensure this national event could take place in a responsible manner during the COVID19 pandemic. The event created over 1,000 room nights. More importantly, the event was a great success in terms of safe play and represents necessary steps towards sports event recovery in The Palm Beaches. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission has a dynamic partnership with the AJGA. The partnership has led to a variety of AJGA junior golf tournaments taking place in The Palm Beaches, in addition to the Rolex Tournament of Champions.
Equestrian Sports Holiday & Horses Circuit, November 24 – January 3 Equestrian sports have led in terms of sports event recovery in The Palm Beaches. Natural distancing occurs withing equestrian competitions, which allows show jumping events to return efficiently and safely. The Palm Beach International Equestrian Center was one of the first venues to reopen after the pandemic began last March. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission is supporting Equestrian Sports Productions (ESP) with its Equestrian Holiday & Horses Circuit for the 6th consecutive year. This event is a showjumping competition, which is held at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center during late November and December in advance of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF). The Palm Beach County Sports Commission has partnered with ESP to expand the equestrian season, prior to the beginning of the Winter Equestrian Festival, by encouraging more national and international riders to participate in the Holiday & Horses Circuit during the month of December. Attracting riders to participate in the Holiday & Horses Circuit is happening through a combination of increased marketing efforts to create greater awareness of the event and enhancing attributes of this competition, such as increasing prize money and raising the level of competitions. Due to the month-long stay by participants, the event generates a tremendous tourism impact. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission tracked over 14,000 room nights from last year’s event. ESP provided naming rights to the Palm Beach County Sports Commission for one of the circuit’s premier events. On Saturday, November 28th, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission Grand Prix CSI 4* took place, which awarded $216,000 in prize money to the showjumping champion. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission’s brand was promoted during the event and throughout the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.

Last year the FSPA was held at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. Production Activity Report For October 2020 Variance Explanations Percentage change variances of ± 10% in performance statistics are typically explained in this section. However, due to the widespread impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the entertainment production industry, this page will serve as an overall update on data collection and reporting measures across multiple categories. During the month of October 2020, the number of daily COVID-19 cases in Florida started to slowly increase after a marked decline in September, reaching between 4,000-5,000 cases per day by the end of the month. However, other states in the country experienced more notable increases than Florida, so national media coverage surrounding the increase did not focus on our state as much as previous months. Production activity remained steady. Total Permits Issued surpassed October of last year (36 for October 2020 vs 30 for October 2019), as well as Leads (25 vs. 21) and Non-Permitted Productions (19 vs. 17). Notable productions in October included the nationally televised Timbertech Championship (formerly Boca Raton Championship/Allianz) and reality TV series like Nat Geo’s World’s Biggest Bull Shark, Lifetime’s Evil Love, South Florida PBS’ Changing Seas and A&E’s Live Rescue. Background Context (March –September 2020): Following a rapid increase in confirmed COVID-19 cases and public awareness in the United States in mid-March, a massive social distancing effort effectively shut down production sets across the country. Many of the locations that fall under the FTC’s One-Stop Permitting process closed to public access amidst Governor DeSantis’ Stay At Home order, which went into effect March 26, 2020. As businesses were urged to begin working remotely from home whenever possible, studio projects and on-location productions alike were either postponed or cancelled in the interest of prioritizing public health. The Stay At Home order was not lifted in Palm Beach County until May 11, at which point Phase One of Governor DeSantis’ reopening plan was enacted. While the FTC’s services have continued uninterrupted and permit requests have been accepted and reviewed on a case-by-case basis, State of Florida Executive Orders made on-location production all but impossible during half of March, the entire month of April, and half of May 2020. During the months of June and July 2020, the number of COVID-19 cases in Florida increased over eight-fold, from 56,830 on June 1 to 470,386 on July 31. While the production industry set an example for safety, health and accountability measures while getting back to business with guidelines from DGA, SAG-AFTRA, IATSE, Teamsters, Film Florida and many others, the surge in Florida cases was widely covered on national media outlets, making it difficult to attract out-of-state production and slowing the intake of new leads. During the months of August and September 2020, COVID-19 cases in Florida decreased significantly, from 15,300 in one day on the record peak on July 12 to 738 on September 28. The public perception and national media coverage surrounding Florida visitation improved, giving filmmakers and producers considering Palm Beach County for on-location work more confidence for the safety of their casts and crews.
4.E.
Prior to the outbreak, production in Palm Beach County was experiencing an increase year-over-year. The total number of permits issued from January 1-March 15, 2020 (just before the shutdown) was 85, compared to 71 for January 1-March 15, 2019, a 19% increase. The year-to-date production data through October 2020 correlates with nationwide trends in production business impacts, as well as the experiences reported amongst Film Commissions throughout the State of Florida who have cited a slight increase in production in the months of August-October, following the postponements and cancellations that plagued June and July (due to the surge in Florida COVID cases)1. FilmLA released a report on the 2nd quarter of the year (April 2020-June 2020) which indicated they had received 34% of the usual permit applications (a decrease of 66%)2. A study released by The Brookings Institution, a nonprofit public policy organization, measured the impacts of COVID-19 on the creative economy and estimated a 30% loss in creative industry occupations nationwide3. In order to report data as accurately as possible and reflect the full-scale effect on our Palm Beach County production community, the FTC continues to make contact with each entity included in the monthly Production Companies & Support Services section (via an industry-wide survey) for estimated percentage adjustments to their average monthly production days, employees, freelancers, hotel room nights and production revenue. As a result of these data collection efforts, percentage change variances of ± 10% are as follows: • • • • • • •
Production Revenue: 34% decrease Hotel Room Nights: 41% decrease Production Days*: 20% decrease Total Productions: 22% decrease Lead Responses: 10% decrease Lead Conversions: 23% decrease Website Unique Visitors**: 18% decrease
*Production Days includes reports of pre-production and post-production work that take place remotely within our local production community.
The FTC continues production community outreach to provide support and collect information regarding the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the industry as a whole. The FTC will continue to monitor reports coming from other film commissions across the state and country to compare business impacts and trends in data accrual.

November 2020 Project Status Report Department of Environmental Resources Management North County Comprehensive Shore Protection Project (NCCSPP): The construction contract for Segments 1 and 3 of the NCCSPP was approved. A Notice to Proceed for Segment 3 (Juno Beach) was issued, and mobilization of construction equipment to the staging site in Loggerhead Park is in progress. Sand pumping is scheduled to begin as early as 12/15. For project updates, visit the project website at https://discover.pbcgov.org/erm/CoastalReports/JunoBeach.aspx. REEF CELLS AND PALM BEACH STATE COLLEGE REEF HOPE STATUE
Artificial Reef Module Deployment: ERM partnered with the Ocean Rescue Alliance, REEF CELLS inventor Christopher O’Hare, Palm Beach State College, and Boy Scout Kevin Castro to deploy 55 artificial reef modules 1 mile southeast of the Lake Worth Inlet in 40 ft. of water. Ocean Rescue Alliance and REEF CELLS donated 52 artificial reef modules of differing sizes and shapes, each with their own artistic flair. With REEF CELLS’ partnership on this project, all of the modules are outfitted with a special patented Coral Lok receiver that can accept coral fragments as part of future reef restoration efforts. Palm Beach State College engaged over 60 students to design, engineer, construct, and deploy their Reef Hope statue. Boy Scout Kevin Castro constructed two artificial reef modules as part of his Eagle Scout project. The new reef modules were placed around existing artificial reef material to create an amazing dive experience for divers of all levels.
REEF DART DEPLOYMENT
Palm Beach County Fishing Foundation (PBCFF) Reef Deployment: The PBCFF, the non-profit arm of the West Palm Beach Fishing Club, donated 40 reef darts and 30 tons of reuse concrete that ERM deployed in 484 ft. of water 4 miles east of the Lake Worth Inlet. This location is 1,000 ft. north of the site where similar material was deployed in 2019. The depth was chosen in an effort to create juvenile habitat for grouper and snapper species. During the deployment, FWC caught two juvenile snowy groupers at the 2019 site and tagged them with acoustic tags to track their movement and site fidelity. This confirms that the project is working as planned. ARMED FORCES REEF MODULE

Virtual Field Trips: ERM staff are working to deliver live virtual field trips to middle school and high school students in Palm Beach County, utilizing the streaming studio application StreamYard. This past week, 170 students tuned in from various schools throughout the County as staff led participants through the mangrove swamp in Jupiter Ridge Natural Area. Students got to interact with staff and ask questions in real time and were able to provide feedback through an online survey after the field trip wrapped up. They reported that they loved to see the live critters and to ask about staff’s background and education. This was the second field trip in an ongoing series that airs once a month. The next field trip is scheduled for early December and will feature another estuarine ecosystem in the County. VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP
Manatee Season: November 15th marked the beginning of manatee season, which runs through March 31st. As air and water temperatures begin to drop, manatees will move south towards warm-water refuges. Seasonal manatee protection speed limit zones are now in effect throughout the state of Florida. As part of Palm Beach County’s Manatee Protection Plan, participating law enforcement agencies throughout the County are contracted to focus on enforcing these laws with their marine patrol units as well as educate the public on manatees. We encourage boaters to be on the lookout for greater numbers of manatees in our waterways this time of year. To avoid striking a manatee, vessel operators should obey all posted speed limits, wear polarized sunglasses to help them spot animals in the water, and watch for large, tell-tale circular slicks on the surface of the water caused by the tail (manatee “footprints”).
Insecticide Resistance Testing: ERM staff continues to sample mosquitos within the county to identify pesticide-resistant mosquito populations and ensure effective mosquito control. Staff places oviposition buckets in a sampling location overnight. Egg rafts are then collected and shipped to the UF IFAS Florida Medical Entomology Laboratory in Vero Beach for testing. Thirteen locations have been sampled within the county to date. The photos show a close up of a Culex egg raft and a finished collection.
If you see a sick, injured or dead manatee, please call the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) Wildlife Alert Number at (888) 404-FWCC (3922), *FWC or # FWC on a cell phone or via email at tip@myfwc.com. LOST Trail Head Now Open: The Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail (LOST) Trailhead parking lot is now open. Construction of an access ramp to the dike surrounding Lake Okeechobee has been completed. This is an important greenway connection between the Ocean to Lake Trail and the Florida Trail.

Real Concerns: How can we protect building occupants now and in the future?
Where are the best practices for limiting the impact of future outbreaks and pandemics?
Disinfection & Pandemics (COVID-19)
Cleaning for infectious disease how?
GBAC Levels of Cleaning Developing a responsible level of cleaning – not panic disinfecting. Level 1. Normal situation: Routine Cleaning
Level 2. No known COVID-19, but want heightened prevention: Routine + limited disinfection
Level 3. COVID-19 is in the area or suspected in building: Enhanced cleaning + professional disinfection.
Level 4. Confirmed infected person in building: Professional disinfection of infected areas and traffic path.
Level 5. Outbreak in the building: High-risk decontamination response
Kick-Starting Business Safely Every business, institution and government currently faces the same situation: When COVID-19-related restrictions ease, employees, occupants and customers will need reassurance that facilities they enter have done the best possible to ensure they will not contract the virus there. We can’t 100% guarantee the virus will not find its way back into society, and into a specific building, but we can take simple cleaning measures to reduce that risk dramatically. The GBAC Star program helps you ensure that you have thought of the right factors, done the right risk assessment and created the right protocols to protect your occupants and employees.
How does GBAC help? To respond & recover from the current outbreak and prepare for the future. GBAC StarTM provides confidence, trust, and third-party validation that facilities are safe. Add this global backing to your local solution. We all know that the new normal will require higher levels of cleanliness. This is the solution for occupants to KNOW that they are in a SAFE FACILITY.
GBAC StarTM: 20 Elements - 3 Main Goals The GBAC StarTM program requires facilities provide proof of 20 elements of a well-prepared cleaning, disinfection and infectious disease prevention program. The main goals are to: • Establish and maintain a cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention program to control and minimize risk associated with infectious agents such as SARS-CoV-2, Influenza, Methicillin-Resistant S. aureus (MRSA), M. tuberculosis (TB), for employees, customers, clients, visitors, the community, and the environment; • Provide assurance and establish confidence that proper cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention work practices are in place and implemented; • Establish a framework that can be used as the basis for communication and raising awareness of cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention best practices implemented in facilities.

Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews (R&A) and the United States Golf Association (USGA). The Walker Cup employs a combination of foursomes (alternate shot) and singles competition. In addition to the golf competition, an Opening Ceremony will be held at The Breakers for competitors, officials, sponsors, and members of the USGA/R&A official travel party. This will allow the Sports Commission an opportunity to network with the USGA Board of Directors, allowing us to enhance our partnership and pursue future event opportunities. In December, the USGA will bring USA team members for a preview at Seminole Golf Club. This Walker Cup Preview will generate additional room nights for Palm Beach County, as well as serve as a site visit for USGA Officials. The USGA originally planned for approximately 5,000 spectators at Seminole Golf Club for the Walker Cup. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the USGA is planning for 50% capacity, with approximately 2,5003,000 spectators. If the health climate changes prior to May, the USGA will look to gradually increase the capacity to a safe and manageable number.

The Walker Cup was contested in 1922, 1923 and 1924 and then biennially ever since, with a nine-year hiatus between 1938 and 1947 for World War II.
