The family-friendly bike ride with the starting point in Nalles, leads you along the villages of the Etschtal Valley through the apple trees.

From Nalles you take the „Via Claudia Augusta “to Andriano. In the centre of Andriano you turn, to take the road to Terlano.

Follow the road for about one kilometer and cross the bridge over the Adige river. At the end of the bridge, you take the Etschtal Valley cycle path. This path runs along the villages Terlano, Vilpiano, Gargazzone up to Postal. In Postal you cross the Bolzano-Merano train route and follow the signs to Lana. You go off the sports field in Lana, turn left and then right. You arrive on the Dogana road, which you follow for 600 meters until the crossroad.

There you turn left and simultaneously pass the parish church of Lana di Sotto (worth seeing: Schnatterpeck altar) to ride along the Applecycle-path. This runs through the apple trees back to Nalles.

From Nalles the tour runs along the Etschtal Valley bicycle path to Settequerce. From there it goes through San Maurizio, over Grieser square and past the victory monument to the Walter square, the center of the city Bolzano.

It continues through the Portici of Bolzano to the meadows of Talvera, with a view of the Castle Firmiano (Messner Mountain Museum). It runs along the river Isarco, farther south.

You pass under the Messner Mountain Museum, from here on the tour leads you along the Etschtal Valley bicycle path and along the wine road back to Nalles.

Tour to the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle  Total length: 36 km Driving time: 3 hours Difference in altitude: 260 m Condition:  Technique: 

The tour leads you from the Town Hall Square in Nalles to the Applecycle-path along the golf course in Lana. It continues through Lana, after Sinigo and then it goes up to the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle (visitation possible). It goes back through the beautiful spa town of Merano. Along the apple trees, the tour leads you back to Nalles.

Tour to the Messner Mountain Museum  Total length: 32 km Driving time: 3 hours Difference in altitude: 240 m Condition:  Technique: 

From Nalles you go to Vilpiano and then along the cycle path Etschtal Valley until Firmiano and afterwards to Appiano.

It continues through the vineyards to Cornaiano and on a beautiful trail to the Messner Mountain Museum. The tour brings you along the apple trees to Andriano and back to Nalles.

From Nalles, take the Etschtal bicycle path in the direction of Bolzano to Ponte Adige. Turn right and cycle onwards to S. Michele/Appiano, then continue in the direction of Lake Caldaro. At the crossing, turn left and follow the signposts for “Ora”. From here you will have a wonderful view of the lake as you cycle down through the orchards, vineyards and forests to your destination. Return home along the same route.

Alternative: From Lake Caldaro, continue through a biotope past the village of Klughammer. Continue along a more trafficated road, turn left below a rail crossing and the Brennero highway, crossing the Etsch river. After the bridge, turn to the left and take the Etschtal bicycle route to Bolzano, then continue in the direction of Merano up until the exit point in Nalles.

Pitzoner circular route  Mountain bike tour Total length 12 km Driving time: 2 hours Difference in altitude: 380 m Condition:  Technique: 

The tour starts from Nalles and leads past the church to the castle Schwanburg (private property). From here, turn right in the direction of Sirmiano. Above the castle Payersberg (private property), a road will lead you to the Bittnerhof and onwards to the Pitzoner-route back to Nalles. This tour can also be done in the opposite direction: Turn left when you see the castle Schwanburg (private property).
