Cape Trib

Cape Tribulation, known by the locals as Cape Trib, offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the world’s oldest living rainforest, where it meets the Great Barrier Reef Set within the Daintree and part of Australia’s first ECO Certified destination, this remote coastal pocket delivers a depth of experience far beyond its size.

Located a short drive north of Port Douglas and approximately 2 5 hours north of Cairns, the journey includes a crossing on the Daintree Ferry, marking a clear transition into a more untouched and immersive landscape. Over two days, visitors can explore ancient rainforest on guided walks, connect with the world’s oldest living culture, cruise the Daintree River, and experience the reef from one of its closest access points

DAY1

Daintree Discovery Centre & Daintree Ice Cream

Let’s begin your adventure to the Daintree Rainforest with the Daintree Discovery Centre, where you can learn about the world’s oldest tropical rainforest Walk along elevated boardwalks and visit the canopy tower for stunning views Afterward, treat yourself to a sweet stop at the Daintree Ice Creamery, where you can sample unique, tropical ice cream flavors made from locally grown fruits

Picnic at Cow Bay

Pack a picnic and head to Cow Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Daintree region. Enjoy your lunch on one of the picnic tables, surrounded by lush rainforest and pristine beach views.

Spend the afternoon on a half-day reef experience with Ocean Safari, departing directly from Cape Tribulation to snorkel sites including Mackay Cay on the Great Barrier Reef Travelling in small groups, the experience feels personal and unhurried, with expert guides on hand to share insight into this remarkable marine environment Slip into clear tropical water and explore vibrant coral gardens, where tropical fish, sea turtles and other marine life move all around you It is a seamless extension of the morning, offering the rare opportunity to experience both reef and rainforest in a single day.

Then make your way back across the Daintree Ferry, taking in the final views of the rainforest and river as you return south. It’s a gentle end to your time in Cape Tribulation, leaving with a sense of having experienced something rare and incredibly special

DAY 2

Cape Trib Farm

Start the day with a visit to Cape Trib Farm, where a guided tasting introduces the region’s incredible diversity of tropical fruit. Sample what is in season, from soursop to rambutan, all grown on site and served fresh.

Ziplining with Treetops Adventure

Continue the morning with a ziplining experience through the Daintree canopy Glide between the treetops while learning about this unique World Heritage environment from knowledgeable guides

Lunch at Turtle Rock Café or Mason’s Café

Then head into a relaxed lunch at Turtle Rock Café or Mason’s Café, both offering fresh, casual meals in a laid-back rainforest setting
