Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark
Cuilcagh Mountain, located within Cuilcagh Lakelands Geopark, is the highest point in County Fermanagh and so has a commanding, panoramic view of the lakes. It’s the ascent to that summit where things get really interesting and exciting. Nicknamed the ‘Stairway to Heaven’, the timbered Cuilcagh Boardwalk trail is a wonder of foresight and compassion for nature, as well as a fair challenge for walkers and strollers, young and old. Just remember to check ahead during the winter to make sure the path is open.
Enniskillen Castle
Perched dominantly on the banks of Lough Erne, Enniskillen Castle in Fermanagh, harks back to the might of the ruling Maguires. They were the first occupants of this imposing structure almost 600 years ago and their story is an important part of history. You can find out more about that story in the castle’s Inniskillings Museum.
Blakes of the Hollow
One of the most impressive Victorian era pubs on the island of Ireland, Blakes of the Hollow in Enniskillen has been delighting guests for over 125 years. Cozy snugs, live music and great Guinness, this bar has it all. Including Chef Glen Wheeler who brings first class service and fine food to all lucky enough to visit.
