Roy Surette DIRECTOR

Much of Roy Surette’s career has involved championing new work and Canadian playwrights. He currently serves as Touchstone Theatre’s Artistic Director, a position he occupied from 1984 to 1997 before his return to the company in July 2017. Previously, he served ten years as the Artistic Director for the beautiful Belfry Theatre in Victoria and ten at the helm of Montreal’s esteemed Centaur Theatre. Roy has received multiple awards and has directed across Canada for the National Arts Centre, Canadian Stage, Shaw Festival, The Arts Club Theatre, The Vancouver Playhouse, Carousel Theatre, Axis Theatre and productions in Scotland and Australia. Directing credits since returning to Vancouver include YAGA, Ominous Sounds at the River Crossing, Lights, Happy Place, Kill Me Now (Touchstone Theatre); Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley (The Arts Club), The Light InThe Piazza (CCPA) and Driving me Crazy (Serendipity Theatre). For the Lawyers Show Roy co-directed The Drowsy Chaperone and Urinetown with Carole Higgins.

Marguerite Witvoet MUSIC DIRECTOR

As a performer, composer, music director/conductor and vocal coach, Marguerite Witvoet has gained a reputation as a versatile and fearless musician. Marguerite is actively involved in the creation and development of new opera and music theatre, performs and conducts, and composes music for theatre and film. Currently teaching voice and piano at her private studio, Marguerite taught Interdisciplinary Creation & Collaboration in the Bachelor of Performing Arts program at Capilano University for 10 years as well as choir at Douglas and Langara Colleges. www.awakeningvoice.ca

Miranda MacDougall CHOREOGRAPHER

Miranda MacDougall (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary artist - an actor, singer, dancer, filmmaker, and theatre creator. With a BFA in Acting from the University of Windsor, Miranda has trained and performed across Canada and the United States. Selected stage credits include The Sound of Music, Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol (The Arts Club, Vancouver) Of Mice and Men (Unit 102, Toronto), In Response to Alabama (Little Thief, Pi Theatre) City of Angels (PIT Collective), and the self-written one woman show Glassjaw (touring). As a film director, Miranda has written and directed upwards of 20 music videos and commercials, most recently co-directing the feature documentary “In The Land of Dreamers” for CBC’s Absolutely Canadian program. As a choreographer and theatre maker, she has had the great privilege of collaborating with some of the city’s most exciting theatre artists. Miranda is grateful to be working, living and learning/unlearning on the unceded and ancestral territories of the Sḵwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səlílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəyəm (Musqueam) First Nations.
