SUPERIOR EN PLEIN AIR PAINTING FESTIVAL
Painting in Purple Park is back! The CAPS committee is proud to host the 2022 En Plein Air Painting Festival on Saturday, October 1, 10 a.m. to 1:00 PM at Purple Park, located at 1310 S. Pitkin Avenue. Plein air painting, the act of painting “live” outdoors, was essential to many impressionist artists such as Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.

During the event, the public will be invited to stroll around the park to watch over a dozen artists create their masterpieces. Additionally, a separate activity station will be available for youths and other participants who would like to try their hand at making art. Music, food and other activities will also be available at this artful fall event.
HIDDEN TREASURES
The CAPS committee recently purchased the sculptural series Hidden Treasures by artist Scottie Burgess -- and treasures they are! The series of 7 cast bronze hands holding large gem crystals were initially on loan to the Town as part of the ARTery pilot project. Residents have come to adore locating the hidden artworks that are installed both inside and outside the vicinity of the Superior Community Center. Come treasure hunting to find them all!
