Experience the excitement of the Toronto Caribbean Carnival from the best seats in the house by joining our volunteer judging panel.

As a judge, you’ll play a crucial role in some of the biggest summer events, including the Jr. King and Queen Showcase, Jr. Parade of Bands, Adult King and Queen Competition, and the Grand Parade of Bands.

Who We Are Looking For?

We’re seeking individuals with backgrounds in arts, theatre, design, or related fields who can apply their expertise to evaluate performances and costumes according to our judging criteria. We are looking for judges from diverse backgrounds, races, different Caribbean islands, and from a variety of artistic experiences.

Applicant Requirements

• Proven background in any of the following disciplines: graphic arts, theatre, lighting, production, music, design or any parallel skills that translates to quality adjudication.

• Demonstrated or working knowledge in mas building, costume design, street theatre and history of mas in Toronto.

• Ability to fairly and without bias view performances and provide positive and/or constructive feedback via the scoring process in place.

• Able to comprehend and apply all judging criteria as outlined in the Rules and Regulations.

• Available to volunteer a minimum of five(5)continuous hours on date of each sanctioned event.

• Able to maintain confidentiality of all material shared with judging pool over the carnival season.

• Must conduct yourself in a professional manner based on standards set by the TCC.

• Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills an asset.

• Proven commitment to customer service excellence including working well with peers under pressure.
