ՊԵՏՐՈՍ ԱՌԱՔ. ԸՆԴՀԱՆՐԱԿԱՆ 1-ԻՆ ՆԱՄԱԿԷՆ 5:1-14 Կը յորդորեմ ձեր մէջ եղող երէցները, ե՛ս ալ ըլլալով երէց իրենց պէս, Քրիստոսի չարչարանքներուն վկայ, նաեւ հաղորդակից այն փառքին՝ որ պիտի յայտնուի.- հովուեցէ՛ք Աստուծոյ հօտը՝ որ ձեր մէջ է, տեսուչ ըլլալով՝ ո՛չ թէ հարկադրաբար, հապա՝ կամովին. ո՛չ թէ ամօթալի շահախնդրութեամբ, հապա՝ յօժարութեամբ. ո՛չ ալ տիրապետելով թեմին վրայ, հապա՝ տիպար ըլլալով հօտին. ու երբ Հովուապետը երեւնայ, պիտի ստանաք փառքի անթառամ պսակը: Նմանապէս դո՛ւք, դեռատինե՛ր, հպատակեցէ՛ք տարեցներուն: Բոլորդ իրարու հպատակելով՝ խոնարհութի՛ւն հագէք. որովհետեւ «Աստուած կ՚ընդդիմանայ ամբարտաւաններուն, բայց շնորհք կու տայ խոնարհներուն»: Ուրեմն խոնարհեցէ՛ք Աստուծոյ հզօր ձեռքին տակ, որպէսզի ժամանակին բարձրացնէ ձեզ: Ձեր ամէն հոգը ձգեցէ՛ք անոր վրայ, որովհետեւ ան կը հոգայ ձեզ: Զգա՛ստ եղէք, արթո՛ւն կեցէք. Որովհետեւ ձեր ոսոխը՝ Չարախօսը՝ կը շրջի մռնչող առիւծի պէս, փնտռելով թէ ո՛վ կլլէ: Դիմադրեցէ՛ք անոր՝ ամուր հաւատքով, գիտնալով թէ ձեր եղբայրնե՛րն ալ աշխարհի մէջ կը կրեն նոյն չարչարանքները: Եւ ամէն շնորհքի Աստուածը, որ իր յաւիտենական փառքին կանչեց մեզ Քրիստոս Յիսուսի միջոցով, ձեզ կատարեալ պիտի ընէ, ամրացնէ, ուժովցնէ եւ անսասան հիմերու վրայ դնէ, երբ չարչարուիք քիչ մը ատեն: Իրե՛ն են փառքը եւ զօրութիւնը դարէ դար՝՝: Ամէն: Սիղուանոսի միջոցով, որ՝ ինչպէս կը սեպեմ՝ հաւատարիմ եղ-բայր մըն է, գրեցի ձեզի համառօտաբար, յորդորելով ու վկայելով թէ ա՛յս է Աստուծոյ ճշմարիտ շնորհքը, որուն մէջ հաստատ կեցած էք: Կը բարեւէ ձեզ Բաբելոնի մէջ եղած 3

եկեղեցին, որ ընտրուած է ձեզի հետ, նաեւ Մարկոս՝ իմ որդիս: Բարեւեցէ՛ք զիրար սիրոյ համբոյրով: Խաղաղութի՜ւն ձեր բոլորին՝ որ Քրիստոս Յիսուսի մէջ էք: Ամէն: ՅՈՎՀԱՆՆՈՒ ԱՒԵՏԱՐԱՆԷՆ 5:19- 30 Իսկ Յիսուս ըսաւ անոնց. «Ճշմա՛րտապէս, ճշմա՛րտապէս կը յայտարարեմ ձեզի. “Որդին ինքնիրմէ ոչինչ կրնայ ընել, հապա միայն ինչ որ տեսնէ՝ որ Հայրը կ՚ընէ. որովհետեւ ինչ որ ա՛ն կ՚ընէ, նմանապէս Որդի՛ն ալ կ՚ընէ այդ բաները”: Քանի որ Հայրը կը սիրէ Որդին, եւ ամէն բան ցոյց կու տայ անոր՝ ինչ որ ինք կ՚ընէ: Ասոնցմէ աւելի մեծ գործեր ալ ցոյց պիտի տայ անոր, որպէսզի դուք զարմանաք. որովհետեւ ինչպէս Հայրը մեռելները կը յարուցանէ եւ կեանք կու տայ, նոյնպէս ալ Որդին կեանք կու տայ՝ անոնց որ ուզէ: Քանի որ Հայրը ո՛չ մէկը կը դատէ, հապա ամէն դատաստան Որդիին տուաւ. որպէսզի բոլորը պատուեն Որդին, ինչպէս կը պատուեն Հայրը: Ա՛ն որ չի պատուեր Որդին, չի պատուեր Հա՛յրը՝ որ ղրկեց զայն: Ճշմա՛րտապէս, ճշմա՛րտապէս կը յայտարարեմ ձեզի. “Ա՛ն որ մտիկ կ՚ընէ իմ խօսքս, ու կը հաւատայ անոր՝ որ ղրկեց զիս, ունի յաւիտենական կեանքը, եւ չ՚իյնար դատապարտութեան տակ, հապա անցած է մահէն դէպի կեանք”: Ճշմա՛րտապէս, ճշմա՛րտապէս կը յայտարարեմ ձեզի. “Ժամը պիտի գայ ու հիմա ալ է, երբ մեռելնե՛րը պիտի լսեն Աստուծոյ Որդիին ձայնը. եւ անոնք որ կը լսեն՝ պիտի ապրին”: Որովհետեւ ինչպէս Հայրը ինքնիր մէջ կեանք ունի, այնպէս ալ Որդիին տուաւ՝ որ ինքնիր մէջ կեանք ունենայ. նաեւ անոր տուաւ դատաստան կիրարկելու իշխանութիւն, քանի որ ան մարդու Որդին է: Մի՛ զարմանաք ասոր վրայ. որովհետեւ ժամը պիտի գայ՝ երբ բոլոր գերեզմաններու մէջ եղողները պիտի լսեն անոր ձայնը, ու դուրս պիտի գան.

անոնք որ բարիք գործեր են՝ կեանքի յարութեան համար, եւ անոնք որ չարիք գործեր են՝ դատապարտութեան յարութեան համար»: «Ես ինձմէ ոչինչ կրնամ ընել. ինչպէս կը լսեմ՝ այնպէս կը դատեմ, եւ իմ դատաստանս արդար է. որովհետեւ ո՛չ թէ իմ կամքս կը փնտռեմ, հապա անոր կամքը՝ որ ղրկեց զիս: 1 PETER 5:1-14 To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you

and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

With the help of Silas, b whom I regard as a faithful brother, I have written to you briefly, encouraging you and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it. She who is in Babylon, chosen together with you, sends you her greetings, and so does my son Mark. Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace to all of you who are in Christ.

JOHN 5:19- 30 Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed. For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

ԱՅՍ ԿԻՐԱԿԻ - THIS SUNDAY ԿԱՐՄԻՐ ԿԻՐԱԿԻ Հայց. Առաք. Սուրբ Եկեղեցին Քրիստոսի Յինանց շրջանի Դ կիրակին կ'անուանէ Կարմիր Կիրակի, այս տարի Մայիս 8-ին: Ան կը խոհրդանշէ, թէ եկեղեցին Յիսուս Քրիստոսի արեամբ հաստատւեցաւ: Կարմիր կիրակին կը կոչուի նաեւ Նահատակաց կամ Սրբոց Կիրակի քանզի կարմիրը նաեւ Քըրիստոսի եկեղեցւոյ եւ հաւատքի համար մարտիրոսացած նահատակներու սուրբ արեան խորհրդանիշն է: Յայտնի է, որ կարմիր գոյնը առհասարակ պայքարի խորհըրդանշան է: Ու այս Կիրակիի «կարմիր» անունը կը յիշեցնէ մեզի, որ քրիստոնէական կեանքն ալ պայքար է աշխարհին մէջ գոյութիւն ունեցող չարիքներու, մոլութիւններու եւ գայթակղութիւններու դէմ: Այս կիրակին իրեն յատուկ շարական չունի, սակայն սովորութեան համաձայն շատ եկեղեցիներէն ներս եկեղեցւոյ վարագոյրը, պատարագիչին զգեստը, դպիրներու շապիկը օրուան համապատասխան կարմիր կ'ըլլան: Կարմիր կիրակին կը հանդիպի Ս. Յարութեան տօնէն 22 օր յետոյ եւ Զատկուայ տօնի նմանութեամբ ունի 35 օրերու շարժականութիւն։

RED SUNDAY In the Calendar of the Armenian Church, the third Sunday following the Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ is known as Red Sunday, this year May 8. One of the symbolic meanings of Red Sunday is 7

the colour of Christ's blood. It also symbolizes the blood of the holy martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Christ, His Holy Church, and their Christian faith.

It is known that the color red is a symbol of the struggle as well. This Sunday is called "red" as a reminder to us, that Christian life is a struggle against evil and temptations of this world. The Red Sunday is a reminder for ourselves to remain steadfast in the Lord, and to continue to lead our lives in goodness and righteousness.

There is no special church hymn for this Sunday, but in many churches it is a custom to have the church veil, the attire of priest and deacons in red colour. Red Sunday comes 22 days after Easter and is a movable feast just like Easter.

ԳԻՏԷԻ՞Ր ԹԷ Հայ եկեղեցւոյ սովորութեան համաձայն Ս. Մկրտութեան ատենը խաչին համար կը գործածուի կարմիր ու սպիտակ թելերէ հիւսուած նարօտը: Նարօտի կարմիր եւ ճերմակ գոյները կը խորհրդանշեն խաչի վրայ Քրիստոսի կողէն հոսած արիւնն ու ջուրը , երբ զինուորները Զինք նիզակած են խաչին վրայ եղած ժամանակ (եկեղեցւոյ եռամեծ վարդապետ Ս. Գրիգոր Տաթեւացիի յիշատակութեամբ «Նարօտին գոյնք որակացն կարմիր եւ սպիտակ՝ արեանն եւ ջրոյն ունին զխորհուրդ բղխեալ՝ ի կենարար կողէն Քրիստոսի. որով միացեալ պսակեցաւ եկեղեցի սուրբ»): Հայ եկեղեցական մատենագրութեան մէջ ջուրն ընկալուած է իբրեւ Ս. Մկրտութեան խորհուրդ, իսկ արիւնը` Ս. Հաղորդութեան: 8

DID YOU KNOW? According to the traditions of Armenian Apostolic Holy church, during the sacrament of Baptism, the Narod is used for the cross.

Narod is braided from red, and white strings. According to St. Krikor of Datev the red and white colours of narod symbolize the Blood and the water, that flowed from the side of Jesus Christ, when one of the soldiers pierced Him with a spear while on the cross. In Armenian church bibliography the water is associated to the sacrament of Baptism and the blood with the Holy Communion.

ԺՈՂՈՎՐԴԱԿԱՆ ՍՈՎՈՐՈՒԹԻՒՆՆԵՐ Ժամանակին, պսակի արարողութեան ընթացքին, կանաչ ու կարմիր կը կապէին որպէս արգասաւորութեան խորհրդանիշ: Իրանահայերու մէջ այսօր ալ սովորութիւն կայ պսակի ընթացքին նորապսակներու ուսէն կամ պարանոցի շուրջը կանաչ ու կարմիր ժապաւէն կապելը: Սովորութիւն էր նաեւ պսակի արարողութենէ ետք յատուկ ծիսակատարութեամբ կանաչկարմիրը վերցնելը: Ժողովրդական լեզւով մէկու մը կանաչկարմիր կապիլ կը նշանակէր անոր ամուսնացնել: Կարմիր կիրակին կը կազմէ զատկական տօնական հանդիսութիւններու շարունակութիւնը: Կը բնութագրուի ծիսական ուտեստով (կարմիր, կանաչ հաւկիթներ, եւ այլն), ուխտագնացութեամբ, մատաղով: Այն ուխտաւորները, որոնք առիթը չէին ունեցած Կանաչ կիրակի օրը ուխտավայր երթալու, յաջորդ Կիրակի՝ Կարմիր

Կիրակիին օրը կ'երթային ուխտագնացութեան եւ կը տօնէին խնջոյքներով ու նուագով:

FOLK TRADITIONS In parts of Armenia it was customary to put festively decorated red and green ribbons over the shoulders of newlyweds during their wedding ceremony. It was considered a symbol of prosperity. After the wedding there was a special ceremony to take off the ribbons. Till this day, Iranian Armenians keep this interesting tradition.

According to the Armenian folk traditions to tie the Green and Red meant for someone to get married.

The Red Sunday is a continuation of Easter celebrations and is celebrated by special foods and pilgrimages to monasteries and churches.

The pilgrims, that did not have a chance to go on a pilgrimage on Green Sunday, would do that on Red Sunday instead.
