ՂՈՒԿԱՍԻ ԱՒԵՏԱՐԱՆԷՆ 17.20-18.14 Երբ Փարիսեցիները հարցուցին իրեն. «Աստուծոյ թագաւորութիւնը ե՞րբ պիտի գայ», պատասխանեց անոնց. «Աստուծոյ թագաւորութիւնը չի գար դուրսէն երեւցած բաներով: Եւ պիտի չըսեն.“Ահա՛ հոս է”, կամ. “Ահա՛ հոն”. որովհետեւ ահա՛ Աստուծոյ թագաւորութիւնը ձեր ներսն է»: Աշակերտներուն ալ ըսաւ. «Օրե՛ր պիտի գան, երբ դուք պիտի ցանկաք տեսնել մարդու Որդիին օրերէն մէկը, բայց պիտի չտեսնէք: Ու եթէ ըսեն ձեզի. “Ահա՛ հոս է”, կամ. “Ահա՛ հոն”, մի՛ երթաք եւ հետամուտ մի՛ ըլլաք: Որովհետեւ ինչպէս փայլակը՝ երկինքին տակ մէկ ծայրէն փայլատակելով՝ կը լուսաւորէ մինչեւ երկինքին տակ միւս ծայրը, նո՛յնպէս պիտի ըլլայ մարդու Որդին՝ իր գալուստին օրը: Սակայն պէտք է որ ինք նախ շատ չարչարանքներ կրէ ու մերժըւի այս սերունդէն: Ի՛նչպէս պատահեցաւ Նոյի օրերուն, ա՛յնպէս պիտի ըլլայ մարդու Որդիին օրերուն ալ: Կ՚ուտէին, կը խմէին, կ՚ամուսնանային, ամուսնութեան կու տային, մինչեւ այն օրը՝ երբ Նոյ մտաւ տապանը, ու ջրհեղեղը եկաւ եւ կորսնցուց բոլորը: Նմանապէս՝ ինչպէս Ղովտի օրերուն ալ պատահեցաւ՝ կ՚ուտէին, կը խմէին, կը գնէին, կը ծախէին, կը տնկէին, կը կառուցանէին: Բայց այն օրը՝ երբ Ղովտ դուրս ելաւ Սոդոմէն, երկինքէն կրակ ու ծծումբ տեղաց եւ կորսնցուց բոլորը: Նոյնպէս պիտի ըլլայ այն օրը՝ երբ մարդու Որդին յայտնուի: Այդ օրը, ա՛ն որ տանիքին վրայ է եւ իր կարասիները՝ տան մէջ, թող չիջնէ՝ զանոնք առնելու. նմանապէս ա՛ն որ արտին մէջ է՝ թող չվերադառնայ: Յիշեցէ՛ք Ղովտի կինը: Ո՛վ որ ջանայ փրկել իր անձը՝ պիտի կորսնցնէ զայն, իսկ ո՛վ որ կորսնցնէ իր անձը՝ պիտի ապրեցնէ զայն: Կը յայտարարեմ ձեզի. “Այդ գիշերը եթէ երկու անձեր մէ՛կ մահիճի մէջ ըլլան, մէկը պիտի առնուի ու միւսը մնայ. եթէ երկու կիներ միասին աղան, մէկը պիտի առնուի եւ միւսը մնայ. եթէ երկու մարդիկ արտի մը մէջ ըլլան, մէկը պիտի առնուի ու միւսը մնայ”»: Անոնք պատասխանեցին անոր. «Տէ՛ր, ո՞ւր պիտի ըլլայ այս բանը»: Ան ալ ըսաւ անոնց. «Ո՛ւր մարմին կայ, հոն պիտի հաւաքուին արծիւները»: Առակ մըն ալ ըսաւ անոնց, որ գիտնան թէ պէտք է ամէ՛ն ատեն 3
աղօթել՝ առանց ձանձրանալու: Ըսաւ. «Քաղաքի մը մէջ դատաւոր մը կար, որ Աստուծմէ չէր վախնար ու մարդ չէր յարգեր: Նոյն քաղաքին մէջ այրի մըն ալ կար, որ կու գար անոր եւ կ՚ըսէր. “Պաշտպանէ՛ իմ իրաւունքս՝ ոսոխիս դէմ”: Ան ժամանակ մը չէր ուզեր անոր մտիկ ընել. բայց յետոյ ըսաւ ինքնիրեն. “Թէպէտ Աստուծմէ չեմ վախնար ու մարդ չեմ յարգեր, գո՛նէ պաշտպանեմ այս այրիին իրաւունքը՝ զիս անհանգստացնելուն համար, որպէսզի չգայ ամէն ատեն թախանձէ ինծի”»: Եւ Տէրը ըսաւ. «Լսեցէ՛ք ի՛նչ կ՚ըսէ անիրաւ դատաւորը: Հապա Աստուած պիտի չպաշտպանէ՞ իր ընտրեալներուն իրաւունքը, որոնք կը գոչեն իրեն ցերեկ ու գիշեր, թէեւ համբերատար ըլլայ անոնց հանդէպ: Կը յայտարարեմ ձեզի թէ շուտո՛վ պիտի պաշտպանէ անոնց իրաւունքը. բայց երբ մարդու Որդին գայ, արդեօք հաւատք պիտի գտնէ՞ երկրի վրայ»: Սա՛ առակն ալ ըսաւ ոմանց, որոնք իրենք իրենց վրայ կը վստահէին թէ արդար են, եւ կ՚անարգէին ուրիշները. «Երկու մարդ տաճարը բարձրացաւ աղօթելու, մէկը՝ Փարիսեցի, ու միւսը՝ մաքսաւոր: Փարիսեցին կայնած էր եւ սա՛պէս կ՚աղօթէր ինքնիրեն. “Ո՛վ Աստուած, շնորհակալ եմ քեզմէ՝ որ ուրիշ մարդոց պէս չեմ, յափըշտակող, անիրաւ, շնացող, կամ ալ այս մաքսաւորին պէս. հապա շաբաթը երկու անգամ ծոմ կը պահեմ, եւ ամբողջ եկամուտիս տասանորդը կու տամ”: Իսկ մաքսաւորը հեռուն կայնած էր, ու չէր ուզեր աչքն ալ բարձրացնել երկինք, հապա՝ ծեծելով իր կուրծքը՝ կ՚ը սէր. “Աստուա՛ծ, ներէ՛ ինծի՝ մեղաւորիս”: Կը յայտարարեմ ձեզի թէ ասիկա այն միւսէն աւելի արդարացած իջաւ իր տունը. որովհետեւ ո՛վ որ կը բարձրացնէ ինքզինք՝ պիտի խոնարհի, իսկ ո՛վ որ կը խոնարհեցնէ ինքզինք՝ պիտի բարձրանայ»: LUKE 17.20-18.14 Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.” c Then he said to his disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. People will tell you, ‘There he is!’ or ‘Here he is!’ Do not go running off after them. For the Son of Man in his day d will be like the lightning, which 4
flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other. But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. “It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. Remember Lot’s wife! Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it. I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.” “Where, Lord?” they asked. He replied, “Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather.” Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’ ” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: “Two men went up to the 5
temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
֎ «Աղօթեցէ՛ք՝ որպէսզի փորձութեան մէջ չմտնէք»,-կը պատւիրէ մեր Տէրը (Ղուկ.22:40): Աստուծոյ սիրող եւ հաւատացող իւրաքանչիւր անձ կարիք ունի անընդհատ Տիրոջ հետ զրուցելու, զոր կ'իրականանայ աղօթքի միջոցով: Սուրբ հայրերու խորհուրդով, ամէն մարդ եկեղեցիէն դուրս ալ պիտի աղօթէ շարունակաբար: Այդ կրնայ ընել ամէն ժամ եւ ամէն տեղ: Մեր աղօթելուն պէտք չէ արգելք ըլլան ո՛չ վայրը, ո՛չ ժամանակը եւ ո՛չ ալ լռութեան բացակայութիւնը: Աղօթել կրնանք ինչպէս մեր խօսքերով, այնպէս ալ սուրբերու գրած աղօթքներով ու սաղմոսերգութեամբ: Our Lord commands: “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” (Luke 22:40). Everyone who loves and trusts in God needs to talk to Him continuously, and we do it through prayers. Holy Fathers of our church advise, that as important it is to pray in church, it is also vital to continue praying in our daily life. We can pray anytime and in anyplace, while we are cooking, working, driving, shopping, at school, etc. We may pray in our own words, use the prayers of the saints and also Psalms. Our prayers can be conversations with God or short appeals like 'Father please forgive me', 'Our Lord Jesus Christ please help me', 'Son of God please guide me in all I do'.So, 'Pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus' (1 Thes. 5:17-18). 6
ԴԱՏԱՒՈՐԻ ԿԻՐԱԿԻ Մեծ Պահքի հինգերորդ Կիրակին կը կոչուի Դատաւորի Կիրակի: Իր անունը առած է այդ օրը Աւետարանէն ընթերցուող առակէն (Ղուկաս 18:1-8): Առակը կ'ուսուցանէ անդադար աղօթել Աստուծոյ եւ երբեք չի յուսահատիլ, չի ձանձրանալ եւ չի դադրիլ աղօթելէ: Սրտաբուխ Աղօթքըն առ Աստուած՝ Հայր Աստուծոյ հետ հաղորդակցելու գլխաւոր միջոցն է, որ նաեւ կը զօրացնէ մեր հաւատքը: Ուստի «Անդադար աղօթք ըրէք» (Ա.Թես. 5:17) ու միշտ Տէրոջը ապաւինեցէք:
THE SUNDAY OF THE JUDGE The Fifth Sunday of Great Lent is the Sunday of the Judge, which takes its name from the Gospel reading of the day (Luke 18:1-7). This parable reminds us about the importance of the persistent prayer in lives of believers. Jesus told this parable to show, that we should always pray and not give up or become discouraged. We must pray continuously and trust God to answer to our prayers according to His will, not just our wishes.

ՍԵԲԱՍՏԻՈՅ ՔԱՌԱՍՈՒՆ ՄԱՆԿՈՒՆՔ Այս տարի Մարտ 21-ին Հայց. Առաքելական եկեղեցին կը նշէ Սեբաստիոյ 40 Մանկանց տօնը: Այս տօնը յիշատակումն է Դ. դարուն Սեբաստիոյ մէջ նահատակուած Քառասուն Մանկունք սրբացեալ զօրականներուն, նոյնպէս տօնն է այդ անունը կրող եկեղեցիներուն: 4-րդ դարու սկիզբը նահատակուած Քրիստոսի 40 վկաները Փոքր Հայքի տարբեր քաղաքներէն էին եւ զինուորական ծառայութեան մէջ մտած էին Սեբաստիոյ կայսերական գունդին: Լիկիանոս կայսեր հրամանով Կեսարիոյ դուքս Լիւսիանոսը կը հարցաքննէ զինուորները անոնց մէջի քրիստոնեաները յայտնաբերելու համար: Անոնցմէ 40-ը, կը յայտարարեն իրենց քրիստոնէական հաւատքը, որու համար կը բանտարկուին։ Անոնք հաստատուն կը մնան իրենց հաւատքի մէջ եւ Լիւսիանոս որպէս պատիժ անոնց մերկ վիճակի մէջ, գիշեր ատեն, ձմրան ցուրտին սառուցեալ լիճի մէջ կը նետէ: Լիւսիաս լիճի ափին տաք բաղնիք մը պատրաստել կու տայ, որպէսզի երիտասարդները գայթակղե ցնէ , որ անոնք ներս մտնելով փրկուին: Բայց 40-էն մէկը միայն չի՛ դիմանար սառած ջուրին մէջ, դուրս գալով կը մտնէ տաք բաղնիքը ու կը կնքէ իր մահկանացուն ու կը զրկուի թէ՛ երկրային և թէ՛ երկնային կեանքէն: Ուշ գիշերին, երկնային լոյս մը կը ճառագայթէ լիճին վերեւ եւ լուսեղէն թագեր 8
կ’իջնեն նահատակ սուրբերու գլուխներուն: Պահապան զինուորներէն մէկը, տեսնելով այդ, կը լեցուի Քրիստոսի հաւատքով և նետուելով լիճը, պսակակից կը դառնայ 39 զինուորներուն: Աստուածային հրաշքով վկաները դիմացան ձմեռնային ցուրտին, բայց առաւօտեան նահատակուեցան Լիւսիանոսի զինուորներու ձեռքով։ Անոնց նշխարները կ’ամփոփուին Սեբաստիոյ մէջ , ուր յետագային կը կառուցուի «Քառասուն մանկունք» 40 գմբեթանի տաճարը, որը կ’աւերուի Լէնկթիմուրի արշաւանքներուն ընթացքին: 40 զինուորներու պատմութիւնը մեզի կը սորվեցնէ, որ ամէն բանէ անկախ, միշտ հաւատարիմ մնանք Քրիստոսի հաւատքին եւ մեր հաւատքով յաղթահարենք աշխարհի գայթակղութիւնները: THE FORTY HOLY MARTYRS OF SEBASTIA On March 21 the Armenian church commemorates the Forty Holy Martyrs of Sebastia. They were martyred approximately in 320 AD. They were Christians from various towns and cities of Lesser Armenia who served as soldiers in the royal regiment of Sebastia. Upon the decree of Roman Emperor Likianos, Lucias, Duke of Caesarea, organized interrogations to identify Christian soldiers among the regiment. Forty of the soldiers remained steadfast in their faith, defying the judges by their brave answers, and therefore were imprisoned. One cold winter night the soldiers were thrown into a lake near Sebastia, to freeze to death. One of the 40 soldiers, unable to endure the torments, came out of the water to find salvation in a bathhouse built on the bank. The lone soldier died, deprived of both earthly and heavenly life. At the dawn, halos were seen around the heads of the remaining soldiers. Witnessing this miracle, one of the guards accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and threw himself into the lake to be martyred along with the remaining 39 soldiers. In the morning, it became apparent that through a divine miracle, the 40 soldiers have been saved from freezing. This infuriated their captors and subsequently executed all them.The martyrs' remains are buried in Sebastia, where subsequently a 40-domed Cathedral was built. The Cathedral of Sebastia stood for nearly 1,000 years, until the invasion of Tamerlane and the Mongols at the end of the 14th century. 9
ՀՈԳԵՀԱՆԳԻՍՏ Հայ եկեղեցին յաճախ կը յիշէ ննջեցեալներուն եւ անոնց համար հոգեհանգիստ կը կատարէ։ Մի՞թէ կարեւոր է այդ, ննջեցեալներուն համար։ Աստուած մեռելներու Աստուածը չէ, այլ ողջերու, որովհետեւ բոլորը կենդանի են Անոր համար /Ղուկաս 20. 38/ եւ ՙսէր ոչ երբեք անկանի՚ /Ա Կորնթ. 13. 8/։ Հետեւաբար ննջեցեալները երբեք բաժանըւած չեն ապրողներէն եւ մեզ՝ ապրողներուս համար պարտականութիւն է յիշել զանոնք։ Այս կը խորհրդանշէ զինւորեալ եւ յաղթական եկեղեցւոյ հաղորդակցութիւնը։ Հին Կտակարանին մէջ կան դրուագներ, ուր յստակ կը պատուիրէ ննջեցեալներու համար աղօթել /Հռութ 2. 20, Բ Մնաց. 6. 42, Երեմիա 16. 7, 2 Մակ. 12. 39 եւ 46/, եւ այդ սկզբունքն ալ անցաւ Առաքելական ժամանակներուն ապա աւանդուեցաւ Եկեղեցւոյ։ Մեր Պատարագին մէջ յիշատակութիւններու շարքին պատարագիչ քահանան միշտ կը յիշէ ննջեցեալներուն եւ կը դիմէ Աստուծոյ՝ խնդրելով ՙեղիցի յիշատակ ի սուրբ պատարագս աղաչեմք՚։ Եկեղեցւոյ ժամակարգութիւնը, նախնական եկեղեցւոյ սովորոյթը, եկեղեցւոյ հայրերու գրութիւնները, բոլորն ալ կը վկայեն այն հաւատքի մասին, որ աղօթքով, բարեգործութիւններով, Ս. Պատարագով, հոգեհանգիստով, մատաղներով, որոնք կը կատարուին ննջեցեալներու համար, օժանդակութիւն եւ հանգիստ կը շնորհեն անոնց, որոնք ննջած են հաւատքով ու ներելի մեղքերով։ Այսինքն ննջեցեալները իրենց մեղքի կապանքներէն կʼազատուին ոչ թէ իրենց ճիգերով, եւ ոչ ալ իրենց արժանիքի շնորհիւ այլ եկեղեցւոյ օժանդակութեամբ։ Քանի դեռ երկրի վրայ ենք եւ հնարաւորութիւն ունիք ապաշխարելու, մեղքէն արձակում գտնելու, բայց հեռանալով այս կեանքէն, հանդերձեալի մէջ նման հնարաւորութիւններ այլեւս չըկան, ուրէմն կը մնայ միայն Եկեղեցւոյ բարեխօսութիւնը եւ հոգեհանգիստը։ 10

Անեղ բնութիւն, մեղանչեցի Քեզի դէմ իմ մտածումներովս, իմ մարմինովս եւ հոգիովս. մի՛ յիշեր իմ առաջին մեղքերս Քու սուրբ անունիդ համար. ողորմիր Քու արարածներուդ եւ ինծի՝ բազմա-մեղիս: 7. Ամէն բան տեսնող, ես մեղանչեցի Քեզի դէմ իմ խորհուրդներովս, խօսքով եւ գործով. ջնջէ՛ իմ յանցանքներուս ձեռակգիը եւ արձանագրէ զիս կեանքի մատեանին մէջ. ողորմիր Քու արարածներուդ եւ ինծի՝ բազմամեղիս: 8. Գաղտնիքները քննող, մեղք գործեցի կամայ եւ ակամայ, գիտութեսմբ եւ անգիտութեամբ. թողութիւն շնորհէ մեղաւորիս, որովհետեւ սուրբ աւազանին ծնունդէս մինչեւ այսօր ես մեղք գործած եմ Քու Աստուածութեանդ առջեւ, իմ զգայարանքներովս եւ մարմինիս բոլոր անդամներով. ողորմիր Քու արարածներուդ եւ ինծի՝ բազմամեղիս:
