Որ ջնջում ես իմ բազում մեղապարտ կրքերը խօսքովդ ամենակարող. Որ քո արեամբ ստացար ինձ եւ քո մարմնով կերակրեցիր.

Որ սահմանեցիր կեանքի ուխտ անդարձ, անփոփոխելի. Որ կնքելով ինձ քո հոգով` կցորդեցիր ինձ քեզ եւ տուիր Հօրդ ժառանգաւորապէս. Որ յիշատակով չարչարանքներիդ` զոհիդ անունով Համարձակութիւն տուիր աղօթել նոյն բարերարին, Ո՛վ դու բոլորի ստեղծիչ ու կեանք: Դու ես բոլոր հոգիների Աստուած. Քո շնորհների պարգեւատրումն այս դու համարեցիր շատ աւելի մեծ, քան հրաշալի գործերդ բոլոր: Ո՛չ երկինքն իր զարդերով համակ եւ պայծառագեղ հրեշտակներով, Ո՛չ երկիրն ու մարդկութիւնը եւ զարմանասքանչ գործերը նրանց, Ո՛չ լայնատարած ծովն իր մէջ եղող արարածներով, Ո՛չ անդունդները իրենց ողջ անբաւ գոյաւորներով,Ո՛չ այնքան այս վեհ արարչութեամբ էր, որ բարձրացար դու, Որքան դէպի ինձ կարեկցանք ու գութ ցուցաբերելով, Երբ մարգարէի բերնով ասացիր, ո՛վ քաղցր յոյսի բարեշնորհ Տէր."Ո՞վ կայ ինձ պէս Աստուած, որ կարող է միշտ ներել մեղքերը եւ ջնջել անօրէնութիւնները": Եւ ահա խնկուած են խօսքերդ, ողորմա՜ծ, եւ խոստովանուած են բարերարութիւններդ, Փառաւորուած են խորհուրդներդ խորին եւ երկրպագուած` շնորհներիդ առատութիւնը: Բ Արդարեւ, ո՛չ ոք արարածներիդ նիւթեղէն լեզուով կարող է մեկնել Գթութիւններիդ մի մասնիկն անգամ, որ ցոյց տուիր ինձ, յօրինո՜ղ. Զի ճշմարտապէս մեծ է աւելի այն զօրութիւնը, 3

Որ հնացածը նորոգում է դարձեալ իր առաջին պայծառութեամբ, Քան թէ այն ուժը, որ ոչնչից է ստեղծագործում: Զի չունես երբէք անկարողութիւն, զօրաւորդ դու ամէն ինչի մէջ, Եւ քո մէկ խօսքը բաւական է լոկ, որ հասնեն գործերն իրենց լրումին, Ելի՛ր ուրեմն, փառաւորուելու, բարեգործ, Կրկին ստեղծելով ինձ, որ յոյսս կտրել եմ փրկութիւնից, Որ այս ճշմարիտ եւ հաստատական ուխտի համաձայն` Մեծապէս բարձրանայ ձայնդ օրհնաբան եւ աւետաբեր, Առաւել` յայտնի քաւութեանդ շնորհով եւ ողորմութեանդ լոյսով առինքնող, Քան թէ գործերով ստեղծողական: Զի մէկով որպէս արարիչ ես դու ճանաչւում միայն, Իսկ միւսով` ոչ թէ միայն արարիչ, այլեւ երախտաւոր. Ոչ միայն ստեղծող, այլ նաեւ քաւիչ, Ոչ միայն նորոգող, այլեւ բարերար, Ոչ միայն հաստող, այլեւ ողորմած, Ոչ միայն կամեցող, այլեւ հնարաւոր, Ոչ միայն յօրինող, այլեւ հեզ, համեստ, Ոչ միայն նկարող, այլեւ ամենազօր, Ոչ միայն առաջնորդ, այլեւ լոյս, Ոչ միայն խնամող, այլ նաեւ հովիւ, Ոչ միայն դարմանող, այլեւ հոգածու, Ոչ միայն ողջացնող, այլ նաեւ բժիշկ, Ոչ միայն պաշտպան, այլեւ զօրավար, Ոչ միայն անյաղթ, այլեւ թագաւոր, Ոչ միայն արարիչ, այլ նաեւ քաղցր, Ոչ միայն պարգեւատու, այլեւ առատաձեռն, Ոչ միայն համբերող, այլ նաեւ ներող, Ոչ միայն չբարկացող, այլեւ անոխակալ, Ոչ միայն կարեկից ու վշտակից, այլեւ ծածկագէտ, 4

Ոչ միայն գթոտ եւ հոգատար, այլեւ ապաւէն, Ոչ միայն գերազանցապէս գորովող, այլ նաեւ Աստուած, Եւ քո անսպառ բարութեամբ` օրհնուած ըստ ամենայնի: Գ Արդ, ինչպէս որ ստեղծեցիր ինձ, մինչ ոչ իսկ էի, եւ գոյացնողս հանդիսացար, Այժմ էլ վերստին յարդարիր ահա հոգին մաղթողիս` նրա տաղաւարն եղող մարմնիս հետ, Մաքրութեամբ նախկին եւ ամենասուրբ անարատութեամբ, ինչպէս որ դեռ նոր աշխարհ էր եկել, Որ է՜լ աւելի աճեն, զարգանան եւ բազմապատկուեն Նորոգ ներկայիս` անսահմանելի քո սքանչելեաց շնորհներն առատ, Քան ստուերական հներն անցեալի: Եւ երբ պատմելով թուեմ ես մէկ-մէկ մեղքերս բոլոր, Յիշատակելով անտանելիներն, որքան որ մտքիս թեւերը զօրեն, Անունովդ, հզօ՜ր, թո՛ղ արդարանամ: Եւ երբ ես ինքս պատմեմ բերանովս բծերն իմ հոգու, Ների՜ր ամբարիշտ մեղքերը բազում խոստովանողիս, հզօ՛ր ծածկատես, ամենափրկիչ, Որ չլինի թէ աւետումների ամենալրիւ առատութեան մէջ, Նախկին վիճակին կարօտեմ դարձեալ` Երանի տալով մկրտութեան շնորհներով փրկուածներին, ըստ սաղմոսի, եւ թող չլինի, որ ես մեղքերի փշերով արդէն սաստիկ խոցոտուած, Այժմ էլ վերստին քո ձեռքը մխուի մէջս առաւել մեծ ուժգնութեամբ, Ծանրացնելով պարտքերիս բեռը, քան պարգեւների քաղցրութիւնը քո: Այլ ազատիր ինձ, աղաչում եմ քեզ, Տէ՜ր ամենայնի, 5

Եւ փրկիր մահուան ու մեղքերի խիստ օրէնքներից քո սուրբ հոգով օրհնաբանուած: Քա՜վ լիցի, թէ տկարանայ նուազելով ճշմարտութեանդ լոյսն, ինչպէս Գիրքն է ասում. Զի այնտեղից, ուր քաւութիւնն է թագաւորում` վտարուած է մեղքը, Եւ ուր կենդանի խօսքդ է խրախուսում` չկայ յուսահատութիւն, Եւ երբ շնորհներդ աւելանան, յանցանքները կհալածուեն, Երբ մօտ է ձեռքդ աստուածային` չկայ անհնարութիւն, Այլ կայ համօրէն լուսաւորութիւն, բովանդակապէս զօրութիւն եւ անպարտելի կարողութիւն: Քոնն են` փրկութիւն, կենդանութիւն, նորոգութիւն, ողորմութիւն, Միանգամայն եւ քաղցրութիւն, արքայութիւն, անկեղծութիւն Եւ փա՜ռք յաւիտեանս. ամէն: ԱՂՕԹՔ Տէր ողորմեա, Տէր ողորմեա, Տէր ողորմեա: Սուրբ ես, Տէր, որ Սուրբերուն մէջ կը հանգչիս, եւ մենք ալ այս սուրբ վկաներով կաղաչենք Քեզի: Սուրբ Աստուածածնին բարեխօսութեամբ եւ բոլոր սուրբերու աղաչանքներով, մի՜ մերժեր մեզի Քու ողորմութենէդ, այլ անոնց աղօթքներով ապրեցուր մեզ, որովհետեւ Դո՜ւն ես բազումողորմ Աստուած, ուստի՝ Քեզի կը վայելէ փառք, իշխանութիւն եւ պատիւ, այժմ եւ միշտ եւ յաւիտեանս յաւիտենից. ամէն: ԱՒԵՏԱՐԱՆ ԸՍՏ ՄԱՏԹԷՈՍԻ 22:1-14 Յիսուս դարձեալ առակներով խօսեցաւ անոնց եւ ըսաւ. «Երկինքի թագաւորութիւնը կը նմանի թագաւորի մը՝ որ 6

հարսանիք ըրաւ իր որդիին, ու ղրկեց իր ծառաները՝ կանչելու հարսանիքին հրաւիրեալները. սակայն անոնք չուզեցին գալ: Դարձեալ ուրիշ ծառաներ ղրկեց եւ ըսաւ. “Ըսէ՛ք հրաւիրեալներուն. «Ահա՛ պատրաստեցի իմ ճաշս. զուարակներս ու գէր անասուններս մորթուած են, եւ ամէն բան պատրաստ է. եկէ՛ք հարսանիքի»”: Բայց անոնք անհոգութիւն ընելով՝ գացին մէկը իր արտը, ու միւսը՝ իր առեւտուրին: Ուրիշներ՝ բռնեցին անոր ծառաները, նախատեցին եւ սպաննեցին: Թագաւորն ալ՝ երբ լսեց՝ բարկացաւ. ղրկեց իր զօրքերը, կորսնցուց այդ մարդասպանները ու այրեց անոնց քաղաքը: Այն ատեն ըսաւ իր ծառաներուն. “Հարսանիքը պատրաստ է, բայց հրաւիրեալները արժանի չէին: Ուրեմն գացէ՛ք դէպի ճամբաներուն գլուխները, եւ ո՛վ որ գտնէք՝ հրաւիրեցէ՛ք հարսանիքի”: Այդ ծառաները դուրս ելան՝ դէպի ճամբաներուն գլուխները, եւ ո՛վ որ գտան՝ թէ՛ չար, թէ՛ բարի, բոլորն ալ հաւաքեցին. ու հարսնետունը լեցուեցաւ հրաւիրեալներով: Երբ թագաւորը մտաւ՝ տեսնելու հարսնեւորները, տեսաւ մարդ մը՝ որ հագած չէր հարսանիքի հագուստ: Ըսաւ անոր. “Ընկե՛ր, ի՞նչպէս մտար հոս՝ առանց հարսանիքի հագուստի”: Ան ալ պապանձեցաւ: Այն ատեն թագաւորը ըսաւ սպասարկուներուն. “Կապեցէ՛ք ասոր ոտքերն ու ձեռքերը, եւ առէ՛ք ու նետեցէ՛ք զայն դուրսի խաւարը. հոն պիտի ըլլայ լաց եւ ակռաներու կրճտում ”: Որովհետեւ կանչուածները շատ են, բայց ընտրուածները՝ քիչ»: ԲԺՇԿՈՒԹԵԱՆ ԱՂՕԹՔ Տէր ողորմեա, Տէր ողորմեա, Տէր ողորմեա: Փարատէ՛ ցաւերը եւ բժշկէ՛ հիւանդութիւնները քու ժողովուրդէդ, Տէր Աստուած մեր եւ բոլորին կատարեալ առողջութի՛ւն շնորհէ` Քու ամենայաղթ խաչիդ նշանով, որուն միջոցով մարդկութեան տկարութիւնը վերցուցիր 7

եւ դատապարտեցիր մեր կեանքի եւ փրկութեան թշնամին: Դուն ես մեր կեանքն ու փրկութիւնը, բարերար եւ բազումողորմ Աստուած. միայն Դո՛ւ կրնաս ներել մեր մեղքերը եւ մեզմէ հեռացնել ախտերն ու հիւանդութիւնները. Քեզի յայտնի են մեր կարիքները: Բարիքներ պարգեւող, առատ ողորմութիւնդ պարգեւէ՛ քու արարածներուդ՝ իւրաքանչիւրին ըստ իր պէտքին, որովհետեւ արարածներուդ միջոցով միշտ կը գովաբանուի Ամենասուրբ Երրորդութիւնդ. Այժմ եւ միշտ եւ յաւիտեանս յաւիտենից. ամէն: ՔԱՐՈԶ Սուրբ Խաչով Տիրոջը աղաչենք, որպէսզի սրանով փրկէ մեզ մեղքերէն եւ Իր ողորմութեան շնորհով պահէ մեզ: Ամենակալ Տէր Աստուած մեր, ապրեցու՛ր եւ ողորմէ՛: ՊԱՀՊԱՆՈՒԹԵԱՆ ԱՂՕԹՔ Տէր ողորմեա, Տէր ողորմեա, Տէր ողորմեա: Պահպանիչ եւ հաւատացեալներու յոյս, Քրիստոս Աստուած մեր, պահէ պահպանէ եւ օրհնէ Հայոց ազգը եւ Հայաստանեայց Եկեղեցին. Քու Սուրբ եւ պատուական Խաչիդ հովանիին ներքեւ, խաղաղութեան մէջ. փրկէ եւ ազատէ երեւելի եւ աներեւոյթ թշնամիներէն, արժանաւորէ գոհութեամբ փառաւորենք Քեզ ընդ Հօր եւ Սուրբ Հոգւոյն. այժմ եւ ﬕշտ եւ յաւիտեանս յաւիտենից. ամէն:

READING: FROM MADYAN VOGHPERKOUTYAN (NAREG) Prayer 49 Speaking with God from the Depths of the Heart A And now remembering the image of your royal kingdom above, God of light for all, do not let iniquity rule me.

Do not let the haughty rebel steal the grace of your breath from this creature you made.

Do not let sin trap and rule my mortal body, enslaving me.

No king rules my soul except you, Christ, who without force submits me to your easy yoke, who lifts away my sinful passions with your all-powerful word, who redeems me with your blood and nourishes me with your body, 10

who sets forth and establishes the unchanging covenant of life, who by setting the stamp of your spirit on me as your cohort, presents me to your Father as a co-heir, and in the name of your sacrifice and memory of your torment, emboldened me to pray to the same benevolent God. Creator of all life, you are the God of all souls who made this gift of grace greater than all your other miracles.

Neither the heavens with all their raiment, nor the angels in their brilliance, nor the earth and humanity and their wonders, nor the expanse of the seas and all in them, nor the abyss in its infiniteness and all in it, exalted you as sublimely as your sympathy toward me, when you said through the prophet, our hope of sweet goodness, “Who is a God like me, always pardoning sin and canceling the debts of iniquity?�

Behold your words are honored with incense, merciful God, and your good works proclaimed, glorified, deep mystery and worshiped, overflowing grace.

B Indeed, no one is able to convey with human speech, even a small part of the acts of compassion which you have shown me, creator.

For the power to restore what is worn-out to its former grandeur is greater than creating anew.

And since weakness is not yours, mighty in all things, you who with but a word can carry out all deeds, arise, doer of good, and be glorified, 11

and reclaim those whose salvation was beyond hope, so that by the exercise of the covenant, the voice of your blessed good news might be more exalted, and known for the grace of your forgiveness, more for the light of your mercy dispensed, than for the process of creation.

For in one we recognize the creator, whereas in the other, creatorship is recalled as well as grace.

We recognize not only the one who fashioned us, but also the one who atoned for our sins, not only the one who invented us, but also the one who did good for us, not only the one who established us, but also the one who took pity on us, not only the one who formed us, but also the one who gave us possibilities, not only the one who authored, but also the one who humbled himself for us, not only the one who designed us, but also the one who performed miracles, not only the one who started us, but also the one who gave us light, not only the anointed, but also the shepherd, not only the healer, but also the caretaker, not only the protector, but also the physician, not only a supporter, but also a commander, not only a victor, but also a king, not only a creator, but also sweetness, not only the giver of all gifts, but also a generous sponsor, not only always patient, but also forgiving, not only not angered, but also unvengeful, not only sharing our sorrows, but also 12

reading our hearts, not only providing comfort, but also refuge, not only supremely compassionate, but also God, not only endless goodness, but also blessed in all things.

C Now, as you created me, before I existed, and you revealed yourself as my sustenance, and I pray that you might reinstate my soul together with the tabernacle of my body in the spotlessness of the clean holiness of their former being so that your limitless marvels might be bestowed more amply, frequently and increasingly upon the ever-renewing present rather than upon the fading shadows of ages past.

And when recounting my sins, however much the wings of my mind can bear to remember, may I be justified in your name, Almighty, in confessing my own stains upon my soul, and may you forgive the baseness of the many sins I have revealed, Almighty, seer of secrets, savior of all, so that I might not, due to lack of good news, slide back and long for my former ways.

Envying with the Psalmist those who have been saved by baptism, and wounded in my soul by the thorns of sin, may your hand not press on me again more heavily, making the burden of my transgressions greater than the sweetness of your gifts.

Rather, free me through your blessed Holy Spirit, 13

I pray you, Lord of all, from the laws of sin and death.

Spare me from falling with weakness before reaching the dawn of your truth as written in the Scriptures.

For wherever forgiveness reigns, sin is banished, and wherever your living word gives encouragement, there is no despair.

And wherever your gifts abound, debts are dissolved.

And the hand of God being close by, nothing is impossible.

Rather, everything basks in light, filled with strength and invincible potency.

Yours is salvation, life, renewal, mercy, and at the same time, a sweet kingdom, incorruptible and glorified forever.

Amen.

PRAYER Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy Holy are You, O Lord who dwells in the saints. We beseech You through the holy martyrs, through the intercessions of the holy Mother-of-God and through the prayers of all Your saints, cast us not away from Your mercy, but save us through their prayers. For You are the God of many mercies and to You is fitting glory, dominion and honor, now and always and unto the ages of ages.

GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MATTHEW: 22:1-14 Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son.

He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.

“Then he sent some more servants and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’

“But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.

“Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

“But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’ The man was speechless.

“Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

“For many are invited, but few are chosen.”

PRAYER FOR THE SICK Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy Dispel the pain and heal the sickness of thy people, Lord our God and grant to all perfect health by the sign of thine all-conquering cross through which thou removed the weakness of mankind and condemned the enemy of our life and salvation. Thou art our life and salvation, beneficent and all merciful God, who alone can forgive us our sins and remove diseases and sickness from us, to 15

whom are known our needs and necessities. Bestower of gifts, grant thy bounteous mercy to thy creatures according to their individual needs, through whom thy Holy Trinity is always glorified and praised, now and always and forever and ever. Amen.

LITANY By the Holy Cross let us beseech the Lord, that through it he may deliver us from our sins and save us by the grace of his mercy.

Almighty Lord our God, save us and have mercy upon us.

PRAYER OF PRESERVATION Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy Guardian and hope of the faithful Christ our God, guard, protect and bless Armenian Nation and Armenian Church, under the shadow of Thine holy and precious Cross in peace.

Deliver from enemies visible and invisible.

Make us worthy to give thanks to Thee and to glorify Thee with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and unto the ages of ages.
