Sports Day

Monday 22 June 2026

Tormead Sports Ground, Urnfield, Downside Road, Guildford, GU4 8PH

Welcome from the Director of Sport

I am delighted to welcome our talented athletes, dedicated staff, and supportive families to our second Sports Day at the outstanding Urnfield Sports Ground.

We are incredibly fortunate to have access to such a high-quality athletics facility, complete with a state-of-the-art track, dedicated jumping pits, and professionalstandard throwing areas. Last year’s Sports Day showcased the tremendous potential of these facilities, with numerous school records broken and participation levels higher than ever before. We hope to see that success continue today.

Athletics has enjoyed another exciting and successful season at Tormead. Two teams have qualified for the ESAA Regional Finals, with aspirations of progressing to the National Finals, while a number of our Year 7 and 8 athletes have already secured places at the National Preparatory Schools’ Finals in Birmingham. Athletics at Tormead continues to go from strength to strength, and today provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate both our highest-performing athletes and those who have worked tirelessly in clubs, training sessions, and Games lessons to develop their skills, confidence, and enjoyment of the sport.

Above all, Sports Day is a celebration of effort, determination, house spirit, and community. Whether you are competing, cheering from the sidelines, officiating, or helping behind the scenes, thank you for playing your part in making today such a special occasion.

I wish all competitors the very best of luck and hope everyone enjoys a fantastic day of sport.
