Top Level Magazine (TLM) was founded by Therese Marie Collection TMC and partners June 2020. TLM is also a spin-off of the Plugged In Network event also founded by TMC and Partners. TLM is a digital fashion and entertainment magazine. Our desire is to connect people in the fashion and entertainment industry by providing resources, tips, brand exposure, community engagement, inspirations and more. I
started my cosmetics line in August 2011. I was also a professional makeup artist as well. A good friend of mine gave me the idea to start a makeup line since I did makeup. I had no knowledge of the makeup business but knew I needed to do research on products to start with and suppliers to help create the perfect product. I was obsessed with eye makeup the different colors and different eye looks to create. So, I decided to go with pigments because they are so rich and vibrant and you can get multiple uses out of them. So then, I did the testing part ordered samples online with just a few colors to see about the ingredients texture and if the colors were long wear. Lucky me, the first company I found I loved them and they were my supplier. I started small with 10 colors just to test out on my clients to see how they like them and they loved them and wanted to purchase them. So, from that point on, it was a go and I moved forward. I offered color ranges from the lightest to the darkest for all skin tones. All eye colors I custom
created from mattes, shimmers and some glitters. I put myself out there in my city and would do makeup for fashion shows and my clients and that is how word of mouth traveled fast. I was known for my rich , bold and vibrant eye colors. The people loved them. So then, I wanted to branch out of my city so remind you I still could not think of a name for my brand just yet. So, I just had a PayPal account and Facebook business page that is it and I named each eye color a unique name. I also took pictures of swatches of each product as well. A celebrity photographer friend of mine saw I was trying to push my products and he knew a makeup artist in Houston, Texas who he connected me to named Kim Frankie Grant. Well that is when the magic started. I sent her my whole collection for free asked her to try them out on any makeup look she created. And she loved them so much and promoted them for me. We build a great business relationship and helped each other and that is how I branched out into selling in other cities and even countries. Still, to this day, Kim and I support each other. Now I offer Lip colors of all shades. I custom make them on my own. They are vegan and cruelty free. I get to choose variety of shades of colors for all women skin tones. I decided to retire as a Pro Makeup Artist of 19 years in 2019. Now I’m dedicated 100% to my brands business. I have a wholesale program and I’m a vendor and help women from all over create their makeup line. It’s the part I love and it’s working in my favor. My brand is expanding & it’s my passion and I love it. I will be pushing my holiday collection in late November. I also have a melanin collection for beautiful brown skin women of all skin tones.
