Benefits of

NDING

Top Doctor Magazine /Tyler Labaron / 7

I

n our fast-paced, modern world, where technology and urbanization dominate, it’s easy to lose touch with the natural world. A growing body of research suggests that reconnecting with the earth through a practice known as grounding, or earthing, can offer an array of health benefits!

Grounding involves direct physical contact with the earth, such as walking barefoot on grass, soil or sand, and has been associated with improved well-being across various aspects of physical and mental health.

Is There Science

Reduction in Inflammation

Grounding is based on the principle that the earth carries a subtle electric charge, and direct contact with its surface can help balance the body’s electrical charge. This concept is rooted in the understanding that the earth’s surface is abundant in free electrons, which are negatively charged particles. When a person is in direct contact with the earth, these electrons can be transferred to the body, neutralizing positively charged free radicals and reducing inflammation.

Several studies have suggested that grounding may have antiinflammatory effects on the body. In a 2015 study published in the Journal of Inflammation Research, participants who grounded themselves showed a significant reduction in inflammatory markers, indicating that contact with the Earth may help modulate the body’s inflammatory response.¹

Behind Grounding?

Stress Reduction Grounding appears to have a calming effect on the nervous system, potentially reducing stress and anxiety. A small pilot study published in 2015 found that participants who practiced grounding techniques reported lower levels of stress and improved overall emotional wellbeing.⁴

8

Improved Blood Flow and

Improved Sleep Grounding has been linked to better sleep quality and duration. A 2004 study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that participants who slept grounded experienced improvements in sleep efficiency, total sleep time, and decreased nighttime awakenings.² The balancing effect on cortisol, the stress hormone, may contribute to these positive sleep outcomes.³

Cardiovascular Health

Pain Management

Preliminary research suggests that grounding may positively impact cardiovascular health. A study published in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health in 2012 found that grounding resulted in improved blood viscosity and flow, potentially contributing to better overall cardiovascular function.⁵

Grounding has shown promise as a complementary approach to pain management. A 2017 study found that grounding reduced the intensity of chronic musculoskeletal pain and improved participants’ overall quality of life.⁶ While more research is needed, these findings suggest that grounding could be a valuable addition to pain management strategies.

Practical Ways to Incorporate Grounding into Your Life:

1.

Barefoot Walking

Spend time walking barefoot on natural surfaces like grass, soil, or sand. This direct contact allows the transfer of electrons from the earth to your body.

2.

3. A

Gardening

Engage in gardening activities where you come into direct contact with the soil. Planting, weeding, or simply sitting on the ground can provide grounding benefits.

Beach Time

Take advantage of the beach environment, where the combination of sand and water provides an excellent grounding experience. Walk barefoot along the shore or sit in the sand to enhance the connection.

4.

Grounding Mats and Sheets

Grounding mats and sheets with conductive properties are designed to connect to the earth’s electric charge. Using these products while sleeping or sitting can offer the benefits of grounding indoors.

s we navigate the challenges of modern living, the simple act of connecting with the earth may hold profound health benefits. Grounding has the potential to reduce inflammation, improve sleep, alleviate stress, enhance cardiovascular health, and aid in pain management. While more research is needed to understand the mechanisms behind these effects fully, the existing evidence suggests that incorporating grounding practices into our daily lives could be a valuable component of a holistic approach to well-being. So, kick off your shoes, step onto the grass, and let the earth’s natural energy contribute to your overall health and vitality!

From Molecule to Medicine: How Dr. Tyler LeBaron is Setting the Scientific Standard for Hydrogen Therapy Written by: Riley George In the evolving landscape of wellness and medical innovation, few molecules have garnered as much scientific intrigue as molecular hydrogen. At the forefront of this movement is Dr. Tyler LeBaron, MSc, PhD, a researcher whose journey from a young skeptical student to an adjunct professor and Chief Science Officer of InhaleH2 is bridging the gap between academic rigor and accessible healthcare.

A Quest for Clarity in the Water Dr. LeBaron’s interest in hydrogen was born not out of a desire to sell a product, but a need to debunk or validate extraordinary claims. In 2009, he encountered the world of alkaline ionized water, where enthusiasts claimed life-changing benefits based on pH levels and “water structure.” “I wanted to figure out whether there were any benefits and what they could possibly be,” LeBaron said. His investigation led him to a landmark 2007 study in Nature Medicine, which demonstrated that hydrogen gas at a concentration of just 2% could dramatically reduce brain damage in stroke models.1 “Hydrogen gas is something very easy to administer. It’s easy to get, and it’s safe, being a natural byproduct of healthy gut bacteria,” LeBaron explained. “If you’re able to just supply 2% of hydrogen gas and have the benefits, it could really change healthcare.”

From Nagoya University to the Molecular Hydrogen Institute In 2013, LeBaron’s academic pursuit took him to Nagoya University in Japan, a global hub for hydrogen research. There, he collaborated with pioneers in the field, investigating the effects of hydrogen on various cell signaling pathways.

20

Returning to the United States, he recognized a massive void in public awareness and scientific accuracy. To address this, he founded the Molecular Hydrogen Institute, a science-based 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to advancing research and education (ref).2

“I’ve remained in academia for essentially 16 years researching this molecule,” LeBaron said, noting that his Ph.D. in physiology focused specifically on molecular hydrogen as a therapeutic for cardio and cerebrovascular diseases.

The Problem with the Status Quo While hydrogen therapy grew in popularity, LeBaron noticed a dangerous trend in how the gas was being delivered to consumers. Most devices on the market utilize nasal cannulas that deliver either 100% pure hydrogen or a mixture of 66% H2 and 33% O2. During inhalation, the gas is often diluted below the 1% therapeutic threshold. Thus, some companies simply increase the flow rate to account for the dilution. On the surface, it makes sense, but LeBaron warned that this is a dangerous misconception. “Anything above 4% hydrogen gas is flammable,” LeBaron noted, adding that high-concentration machines violate international fire codes and pose a risk of internal combustion in the airway. There are documented cases in the literature of internal detonations, complex facial fractures, and property damage from explosions. Furthermore, LeBaron highlighted a lack of precision in common delivery methods. Since humans breathe at varying rates and often via their mouths, a nasal cannula delivering a small flow of hydrogen is often diluted to sub-therapeutic levels. “One individual is not even getting a therapeutic level when H2 is diluted below 1%, while another individual, using the same machine, is getting well over 10%. This is extremely dangerous,” LeBaron said. “The evidence for the efficacy of H2 does not justify introducing an explosion hazard, especially when such products do not even ensure a consistent therapeutic concentration for all users.”

Top Doctor Magazine /Tyler Labaron / 21

A Precision Solution: InhaleH2 When entrepreneur Alex Tarnava approached LeBaron for input on a new inhalation system, LeBaron realized this would facilitate pre-clinical and clinical research. When LeBaron did his PhD, they used tanks of premixed gases containing 1-4% H2. Although this made it challenging and expensive to study, it ensured a nonflammable and therapeutic concentration of hydrogen. There was no machine in the market that could provide safe, clinical-grade precision. The result was the collaborative creation of a device made available to the public that mirrors the systems used in major studies, including those conducted in Japanese hospitals and at Harvard.3 The InhaleH2 machine allows users to choose a precise concentration between 1% and 4%, which falls within the “therapeutic window” identified in research studies. By mixing the gas internally coupled with a reservoir, the device ensures that the Fraction of Inspired Hydrogen (FiH2) remains constant regardless of the user’s breathing dynamics.

22

“This machine solves all the key problems other machines have,” LeBaron said. “You can choose between 1% to 4%, and it doesn’t matter what your ventilation rate is. It’s never above 4%, so you never have to worry about flammability concerns.”

Targeting the Powerhouse: The Mitochondrial Edge At the heart of Dr. LeBaron’s research is the understanding that almost all chronic conditions share a common origin: cellular dysfunction. Specifically, he points to the mitochondria, the organelles responsible for generating the energy that powers our lives. “Hydrogen is able to target the mitochondria and improve its function directly,” LeBaron explained, noting that his team recently published a major paper in Redox Biology disclosing a primary target of hydrogen in complex III of the mitochondria.4 The mechanism is more sophisticated than a simple antioxidant reaction. Hydrogen acts through a process known as hormesis, where a mild, beneficial stress triggers a robust protective response.

“It targets a specific protein that induces a stress signal in the mitochondria,” LeBaron said. “This activates what we call the mitochondrial unfolded protein response (UPRmt). It’s very similar to how exercise works by providing a controlled stress, you actually build cellular resilience and regeneration.” By regulating the production of free radicals, hydrogen ensures the body has enough to signal healthy function, but not so many that they cause oxidative damage. This “adaptogenic” quality is why hydrogen shows promise across more than 200 human and animal disease models, and in over 200 human studies. From cardiovascular health to neurological conditions, the molecule helps the body maintain homeostasis in response to environmental toxins, sleep deprivation, and metabolic stress. It is this systemic optimization that leads users to report life-enhancing

secondary benefits, such as the lifting of “brain fog,” improved sleep quality, and a noticeable surge in daily motivation.

The Future of Hydrogen Integration: Data and Synergy

As InhaleH2 looks toward the future, the focus is shifting from simple administration to sophisticated, data-driven integration. The company is currently finalizing a proprietary app designed to bridge the gap between therapy and measurable results. By connecting to popular biometric wearables such as the Oura ring or Apple Watch, the platform will allow users to track real-time trends in heart rate variability (HRV) and recovery speeds. “We can actually start tracking trends over time for our customer base,” LeBaron said. “These trends can be used to guide future clinical trials and tailor protocols specific to the individual’s goals.”

Top Doctor Magazine /Tyler Labaron / 23

InhaleH2 is also pioneering the concept of “stacking” protocols to create synergistic health effects. One such collaboration involves combining hydrogen inhalation with red light therapy. Although not yet available, the InhaleH2 hardware is designed to be compatible with future technologies, such as red-light therapy masks. “Hydrogen has no known contraindications with other treatments and interventions,” LeBaron noted, “if anything, it might work synergistically with other protocols.” Ultimately, LeBaron’s vision for the future is one of empowered, informed consumers. He remains a staunch advocate for scientific literacy in the wellness space. Hydrogen isn’t a miracle therapy, and it is not currently FDA-approved for the treatment of disease,” LeBaron said. “But if this field is going to mature, we have to hold ourselves to true clinical standards, such as precise dosing, strict safety boundaries, and alignment with the published literature. Our responsibility

24

is to separate marketing from methodology and apply the science exactly as it was studied”.

The Path Forward: Science-Backed Wellness As hydrogen therapy moves from the fringes of alternative medicine and university laboratories into the mainstream spotlight, Dr. LeBaron remains committed to the data. By shifting the focus from “more is better” to “precise is safer, and likely better,” he is establishing a new standard for the industry. Through InhaleH2, LeBaron is not just providing a product, but a clinical-grade tool designed to optimize human homeostasis at the cellular level. “It’s an exciting area because it’s a natural molecule that our bodies are already exposed to”, LeBaron concluded. For those looking to take charge of their health, the message is clear: the future of wellness is rooted in rigorous science, precise delivery, and an informed understanding of our own physiology. The Precision of Progress:

How Alex Tarnava is Redefining Hydrogen Therapy Written by: Riley George For most, a mystery virus that triggers a debilitating autoimmune response would be a finishing line. For Alex Tarnava, it was a starting block – but if you ask him, he’ll tell you it was more a matter of luck than anything. A former competitive amateur athlete who spent upwards of six hours a day, six days a week training, and who benefited from a profitable, largely hands-off business in another industry, Tarnava’s life was upended when his health suddenly collapsed. Forced to abandon his physical pursuits, he turned his focus to the only thing that mattered: survival. “I was desperate to find anything that could bring me back to who I was before my health deteriorated, and this desperation drove me to start looking for anything emerging that could help. That’s where I discovered hydrogen research,” Tarnava said. “There was nothing available, and I tend to be an obsessive person when it comes to problem-solving. The result was a DIY project that became something much more.” That “DIY project” led to the development of several patents, including hydrogen water tablets now licensed to approximately 100 brands and backed by over 25 clinical trials. Today, Tarnava is pushing the industry’s boundaries further with the launch of the “Inhale H2” units, a project born from over seven years of research and a deep-seated frustration with the lack of safety and efficacy in the current market.

A Journey of Constant Struggle

While many entrepreneurs lean into the “eureka moment” narrative, Tarnava remains a staunch pragmatist. He rejects the idea of a singular defining moment that shaped his journey, instead emphasizing the grueling nature of innovation. “I don’t really believe in that,” Tarnava said regarding redemption stories. “I think proper advancement is a slow journey, one step at a time. I know people love redemption stories of one singular moment that changed everything, and that’s because people want to live in a fantasy where a single thing can help them change who they are without doing the hard work.” This commitment to the “hard work” of science saw Tarnava spend seven and a half years collaborating with Dr. Tyler LeBaron, MSc, PhD, a leading authority in the field, to develop a device that could meet the rigorous standards of clinical trials. The result was a technology designed to move past substanceless marketing hype and deliver safe, precise dosing, which is necessary to ensure physiological results.

26

The Science of Stress and Redox Homeostasis One of the most significant hurdles in the hydrogen industry is a fundamental misunderstanding of the biology involved. Tarnava explained that hydrogen is not a traditional antioxidant, despite how it is often marketed. Instead, it acts as a hormetic agent, an adaptive stressor similar to exercise, fasting, or cold exposure. “Hydrogen works in a similar manner to exercise, or fasting, or cold exposure,” Tarnava said. “It’s an adaptive stress, like a hormetic agent. To date, it’s the lifestyle intervention that has the highest safety profile and has extremely outsized responses for the stress that it induces on our body.” By inducing a mild, acute stress on the mitochondria, molecular hydrogen triggers the NRF2/Keap1 pathway, prompting the body to produce its own endogenous antioxidants. This process builds towards redox homeostasis, the harmony between oxidation and reduction, and helps regulate the body’s natural response to physiological and psychological stressors. He warned that taking excessive amounts of exogenous antioxidants can be detrimental to health because the body requires a certain level of oxidative stress to function properly.

The Hidden Dangers of High-Flow Inhalation A glaring safety gap in existing products drove his decision to move into inhalation therapy. Tarnava observed that many machines on the market were not only ineffective but also potentially dangerous. He noted that hydrogen is highly combustible, comparing it to historical disasters to emphasize the gravity of the risk. “H2 is explosive–think Hindenburg,” Tarnava said. “Many of these machines are delivering hydrogen oxygen combinations, increasing the oxygen, and making it even more explosive.” He pointed to published case studies involving “deflagrations” where users suffered facial fractures and lung burns due to the highly combustible nature of H2 gas when mixed improperly. Tarnava mentioned that there are approximately 15 reported and published case studies of these machines exploding, though he suspects the real-world number is much higher.

The Fallacy of Constant Flow Rates Traditional hydrogen machines often market themselves by “flow rate,” but Tarnava argued that this metric fundamentally misunderstands human physiology. He explained that humans do not breathe at a constant rate. Instead, we breathe intermittently, with each person displaying different breathing patterns and inhaling different volumes at different speeds. As a result, this can create substantial differences in how high a constant flow rate would need to be in order to deliver an accurate dosage to each person. “These other companies are referring to the flow rate—how much hydrogen is being produced and moving through—but that flow is constant,” Tarnava explained. “They’re not accounting for averages in our minute

ventilation–basically, how much we breathe per minute–nor do they account for the vast differences in how we breathe. Think about it this way: there is a vast difference between short, panicked breaths and long, intentional deep breaths. You’re breathing intermittently, and when you breathe intermittently, you get a very large volume in a short period.” Because of this, Tarnava asserted that the vast majority of hydrogen produced by constant-flow machines simply goes into the nose and straight back out the mouth without ever reaching the lungs. This results in the user receiving a dose that, in some instances, is vastly below the minimum therapeutic threshold required to saturate the blood and distribute H2 to the rest of the body.

Engineering a Precise Closed-Circuit System To solve the dosing and safety issues, Tarnava and Dr. LeBaron spent over seven years developing a closed-circuit system that syncs with the user’s natural breathing patterns. Instead of letting gas escape into the room, the machine utilizes a reservoir bag and a patent-pending mask designed with two separate one-way valves. “We’ve created a machine that matches the way that humans breathe, no matter how each individual breathes,” Tarnava said. “It produces a variable between 1% to 4% H2, which we know from published literature are levels that best show physiological effects.” In this system, when a user inhales, 100% of the hydrogen-enriched air comes directly from the reservoir bag through a one-way valve, ensuring they receive the exact concentration intended. When they exhale, the CO2 is pushed out through a different one-way valve, preventing any dilution or loss of the therapeutic gas. This precision allows practitioners to set specific concentrations based on the best available clinical evidence.

Universal Accessibility for All Body Types A primary goal of the InhaleH2 project was to ensure the technology worked effectively for everyone, regardless of their physical condition or lung capacity. By focusing on concentration rather than just flow, the device provides a consistent therapeutic dose to diverse populations. “It doesn’t matter if you’re a 90-year-old grandmother with lung cancer, a young adult having a panic attack, or a 300-pound bodybuilder practicing deep breaths,” Tarnava said. “ You’re getting the same concentration into your system, so you’re doing the same functional dose.” This inclusivity is vital because different models of disease response in scientific literature suggest that while some conditions respond best to a 2% concentration, others require a 4% concentration. Tarnava’s technology enables that level of clinical specificity, which was previously unavailable in the home-use or clinical markets.

Ethics Over Shareholder Primacy In an era of rapid-scale startups and venture capital dominance, Tarnava has taken a different path. “I try to keep my businesses privately owned without outside investors,” he said. “That way, I don’t have to consider shareholder primacy. I can create my business through a lens of ethical considerations.” This ethical framework ultimately convinced Dr. LeBaron to join the venture as Chief Science Officer. Tarnava noted that despite his 16 years in academia, Dr. LeBaron had never endorsed a product before this. Their shared vision involves making the machines as affordable as possible, even though they cost more to manufacture than many competitors.

28

“It produces a variable between 1% to 4% H2, which we know from published literature are levels that best show physiological effects.”

Confronting the Crisis of Trust in Healthcare Tarnava acknowledged a significant decline in trust in traditional medicine and healthcare. However, he cautioned that jumping to alternative medicine is not always the answer, as many companies in that sector lack the evidence and have no better ethics than the pharmaceutical industry they aim to replace. “We shouldn’t abandon science and medicine for pseudo-science,” Tarnava said. “Just as we shouldn’t abandon a major airline after they have a plane crash and switch to some upstart airline that does absolutely no safety checks on their planes.” He believes the solution lies in fixing the system from within by adhering to proper science and corporate governance. For Tarnava, this means being honest about what H2 can and cannot do. He explicitly stated that his company makes no claims that the machine will cure everyone, emphasizing that patients should know the costs, potential benefits, and current limitations of the evidence.

Looking Ahead: The Scale of 2026 As of early 2026, the demand for Tarnava’s technology is surging. Having just moved out of the pre-launch phase in late December 2025, the company nearly sold out its first 500 units primarily through word-of-mouth and podcast appearances. Clinics are already beginning to adopt the technology, with 15-20 locations purchasing units in the first few weeks after shipping began. “The scale-up is one of the challenges,” Tarnava admitted. “I think we will be widespread in clinics by the end of 2026. We have pretty substantial demand, and we have a lot of interest from major distributors and wholesalers.” Despite the commercial success, Tarnava’s final piece of advice remains grounded. He views hydrogen as a powerful tool, but one that must be part of a larger lifestyle strategy.

“It’s not a miracle. There’s no one thing you can do to make yourself healthy,” Tarnava emphasized. “Hydrogen is just one component. People can use something like hydrogen as a tool and a head start to get back on track with their health.” To learn more, visit inhaleh2.com, and to gain more insight into who Alex is and his other prestigious accomplishments, visit alextarnava.com.

Navigating Hormonal Harmony Through Seasonal Shifts By Riley George As the leaves turn or the first buds of spring emerge, most of us attribute our shifting moods to the simple beauty or gloom of the scenery. However, beneath the surface, our bodies are undergoing a complex chemical recalibration that rivals the complexity of the changing landscape. Transitions between seasons, particularly the shifts in light exposure and temperature, act as a biological reset button for our endocrine system. This internal machinery governs everything from the clarity of our morning thoughts to the depth of our midnight slumber. Understanding these transitions is the first step toward maintaining steady energy and a resilient mood year-round, moving beyond the idea that we are merely "weather-sensitive."

Light-Dark Connection: Melatonin and Cortisol The most significant driver of hormonal change during seasonal transitions is the photoperiod, or the duration of daylight. Our circadian rhythm, the internal clock that dictates our sleep-wake cycle, relies on light signals to regulate the production of melatonin and cortisol. During the transition into winter, the shortened days can cause the pineal gland to begin producing melatonin earlier in the evening and continue later into the morning. This often results in what researchers call winter hypersomnia, in which the body feels a persistent, heavy grogginess despite a full night's sleep. In contrast, the surge of light during the summer transition can suppress melatonin production to a degree that interferes with restorative rest. According to research summarized by the Sleep Foundation, these disruptions are a primary trigger

34

36

for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).¹ The body struggles to sync its internal clock with the external environment, leading to a state of "social jetlag" where our biological timing is permanently at odds with the sun.

The Vitamin D "Hormone" and Mood Regulation Though commonly labeled a vitamin, vitamin D functions more like a pro-hormone with receptors located throughout the brain and body. It is a critical component in the synthesis of serotonin, the neurotransmitter responsible for mood stability and feelings of well-being. As we transition into autumn and winter, the angle of the sun changes, and UV exposure drops significantly, particularly in northern latitudes. A summary of studies from the Mayo Clinic indicates that lower vitamin D levels can lead to a significant dip in serotonin.² This chemical drought often manifests as irritability, intense carbohydrate cravings, and a lack of motivation. When you feel your mood plummeting in October, it is often a lag in your body’s ability to convert sunlight rather than a personal failing or a lack of willpower.

Thyroid and Metabolism: Adapting to the Cold Our thyroid gland is essentially the body's thermostat, responsible for regulating metabolic rate and heat production. As seasons shift toward colder temperatures, the thyroid must increase its production of T3 and T4 to stimulate thermogenesis. This metabolic ramp-up requires more fuel and micronutrients, which explains why many people experience a natural uptick in appetite during the transition to winter. According to Endocrine Web, supporting the thyroid through these shifts requires a delicate balance of iodine, selenium, and iron.³ If the thyroid cannot meet the increased demand for heat production, the result is often profound cold intolerance, brittle hair, and a sense of "brain fog" that persists regardless of caffeine intake.

Strategic Adaptation for Energy and Sleep To support hormonal health during these shifts, one must adopt a proactive approach to light management and nutrition. Within the first 30 minutes of waking, seeking out natural light is essential because it triggers an early cortisol spike. This "wake-up" hormone simultaneously sets the timer for melatonin production fourteen hours later. As evening light lingers in the summer months, using amber-tinted glasses or dimming indoor lights can signal to the brain that the day is ending. Nutritional support also plays a role; shifting toward complex carbohydrates like oats and sweet potatoes can help transport tryptophan to the brain, aiding serotonin production. Furthermore, magnesium serves as a vital tool for regulating the nervous system during hectic seasonal changes, as noted by Healthline, which cites its ability to improve sleep quality by regulating neurotransmitters and calming the adrenal glands.⁴ Top Doctor Magazine /Tyler Labaron / 37

The Body as a Rhythmic System Ultimately, our hormones are not static measurements but a rhythmic response to the world around us. By acknowledging that your energy levels and sleep patterns are tied to the earth’s cycles, you can move away from fighting your biology and toward supporting it. Whether it is adjusting your bedroom temperature to facilitate the core cooling necessary for deep sleep or increasing your intake of healthy fats to support hormone synthesis in the winter, small shifts can mitigate the stress of seasonal transitions. Our bodies are designed to adapt, but in a world of artificial light and climate control, we must be intentional about providing the signals our endocrine system needs to stay in balance.

Seasonal Strategy Guide: Key Takeaways To make these hormonal transitions more manageable, here is a breakdown of the essential facts and actionable steps you can take: •

Prioritize Morning Sunlight: Aim for 10–30 minutes of natural light shortly after waking to anchor your circadian rhythm and trigger essential cortisol release. Monitor Vitamin D Levels: Since vitamin D acts as a precursor to serotonin, consider testing your levels during the autumn transition and supplementing if necessary to prevent the "serotonin dip." Adjust Nutritional Fuel: Support your thyroid’s increased winter workload by consuming foods rich in selenium (such as Brazil nuts) and iodine (such as seaweed or iodized salt). Manage Evening Blue Light: Use blue-light-blocking technology or dim your environment two hours before bed to protect melatonin production, especially during long summer days. Cool Your Sleep Environment: Recognize that your body must drop its core temperature to sleep; use fans or specialized bedding to counteract summer heat that might spike cortisol at night. Lean into Magnesium: Incorporate magnesium-rich foods like leafy greens and seeds, or consider a supplement to help stabilize the nervous system during high-stress seasonal shifts.

Working with the Seasons, Not Against Them As the world outside transforms, it is only natural that we feel a corresponding shift within ourselves. We are not meant to operate at the exact same frequency in the depths of January as we do in the peak of July. By viewing our energy, sleep, and mood through the lens of hormonal biology, we can replace frustration with a sense of informed adaptation. Whether it is by seeking out that vital morning light to anchor our circadian

rhythm or adjusting our nutrition to support a hardworking thyroid, these small, intentional acts of self-care bridge the gap between our modern lifestyles and our ancestral biology. Ultimately, seasonal transitions are an invitation to tune in and listen to what our bodies need most. When we honor these natural cycles rather than fighting them, we don't just survive the changing seasons; we learn to thrive alongside them.
