Hi. I’m Ralf Fletcher, CEO at Topco Media, and I am so excited to introduce you all to the muchanticipated 19th Annual Standard Bank Top Women Awards 2022!
or almost 13 years, Standard Bank has been supporting the two-day conference event, pushing us to take the Top Women programme across the nation in pursuit of building a trusted network of top gender empowered companies and women entrepreneurs.
Following the conference, the awards is where we further celebrate Top Women and the companies behind them. Together, we honour and applaud outstanding leadership, ingenuity, vision and innovation in organisations that play a significant role in advancing women in our economy.
We believe that by empowering women, we can play our part in accelerating growth in Africa. Thus far, we have brought together tens of thousands of strong women from
multiple sectors across the nation, and celebrating exemplary candidates each year at our coveted awards ceremony.
This year, we addressed gender disparities and women empowerment, with our key theme being:
and experts to offer inspiration and actionable insights. The awards are celebrated separately to the conference and this year we’re happy to once again host them in-person under the theme ‘Fierce Femininity’.
We’ve got Uber, Kia South Africa, MSC Cruises, Harmony Gold, SANBI, Organon and Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University on board - just some of our incredible sponsors for this year’s event.
“RISE

Winning Journalist & TV Presenter
Multipleaward-winning TV presenter, radio host, MC and style icon, Leanne Manas, is a renowned leader on the South African media circuit. From Oprah Winfrey to Nelson Mandela, Leanne has interviewed an impressive range of public figures, heads of state, thought-leaders and local and international celebrities during her decade-long onscreen career.
She is instantly recognisable as the face of SABC 2’s flagship breakfast show, Morning Live, a hard-hitting news broadcast that she has anchored since 2004. Prior to taking on this demanding role, Leanne found recognition presenting a number of prominent business shows including SABC 3’s Business Update and Business Focus.
Her ability to move seamlessly between media platforms can, in part, be contributed to her roots, having started her career as a weekend and late night news anchor for Talk Radio 702. She has since done extensive work for South Africa’s leading radio stations including Radio Algoa, Jacaranda FM, SAfm and East Coast Radio.
Riaad Moosa is one of South Africa’s most popular, award-winning and successful comedians; and happens to be a qualified medical doctor as well!
On stage, he conquers new fans on an almost daily basis with sold-out one-man shows such as “Strictly Halaal” and most recently “Riaad Moosa For The Baracka”; both shows prompted extended runs, as well as special shows being created to accommodate the huge public demand.
Riaad has appeared in various TV and film productions and flexed his comedic and dramatic acting muscles when he played the lead in the internationally acclaimed movie ‘Material’ (also co-written by Riaad), which continues to inspire audiences all over the world. Material is also streaming on Netflix.
Riaad Moosa won the SAFTA (South African Film and Television Award) for Best Actor for his role in ‘Material’, which also received SAFTA’s for Best Film, Best Director and Best Supporting Actor in 2013. ‘Material 2’ or ‘New Material’ was due to be released in October 2020, but was delayed due to the pandemic. It was finally released in late 2021, and Riaad is due to embark on a national tour with the film in 2022.

Transformation is not a future event. It is a present-day activity.
The FSTC is a transformational body mandated to drive and measure transformation within the financial services sector premised on the B BBEE Framework, more specifically the Financial Sector Code as an instrument towards redressing social and economic inequalities towards the growth of a sustainable economy.

Through the sector’s compliance of these provisions, transformation is measured within the framework of the development of the State of Transformation Annual Report which plays a critical role in providing the sector with a clear roadmap through building on existing initiatives towards sustainable black economic empowerment for the benefit of the broader public.
The broader mandate of the FSTC is to support economic growth and inclusivity while overseeing and enforcing the implementation of the 2017 Amended FS Code which is the central instrument that is aimed at realising its transformational pursuits and defined through the respective elements:
Ownership, Black Business Growth Fund (BBGF), and related Equity Equivalents (FS100).
Management Control (FS200) and Skills Development (FS300)
Preferential Procurement, Enterprise Development and Enterprise Supplier Development (FS400) Socio-Economic Development and Consumer Education (FS500)
Empowerment Financing (FS600)
Access to Financial Services (FS700) General principles (FS000)
