In August 2018, we formed a new region known as the Nestlé East and Southern Africa Region (ESAR), comprising of 23 countries, namely: South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Zambia, eSwatini, Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Comoros, Madagascar, Seychelles, Burundi, Rwanda, Somalia, Ethiopia, Uganda, Malawi, South Sudan, Eritrea and Djibouti.
The ESAR region employs 3,200 employees. Operationally, we have seven Nestlé factories across ESAR, located as follows: South Africa (five), Zimbabwe (one) and Kenya (one). In most of the countries where Nestlé operates, there is a plethora of socio-economic challenges including the triple burden of disease: obesity, micronutrient deficiencies and undernutrition. To respond to these challenges, we bring this purpose to life through our Creating Shared Value business approach. Creating Shared Value is our way of delivering long-term positive impact for our shareholders and for society.

Attendee Testimonials Highlight - Being able to take something I have learned and make a change in the company I work for. • I think the sessions and time limited to each session was well planned, the speakers were on point and more than anything, they were not scared to share their honest opinions and they were ready for any questions which made a big difference. • The entire program, the mix of topics and the way it was presented was really good. The MC’s for both functions as well as the keynote speakers were excellent. • Key takeaways - the future of HR is evolving and we have to be agile to stay up to date. •Well organised and is encouraging us to do better as companies in terms of HR strategies. • There’s a lot. Diversity, Resilience of the SA workforce, I and its impact on job market, Engineering skills, mining in SA, global skills mining, and many more topics.
HR people are just trying to cope, no one size fits all model will do the thing, psychological safety, priorities are more efficient than KPIs. • There is a lot of insight that I can share but overall I think I can mention a few, the Culture guy - loved his talk. Embracing authenticity in leadership and how to not change or lose yourself in the business politics, dealing and understanding quiet quitting, diversity in C-Suite and Nene’s talk was also one of the major highlights (Embracing neurodiverse work culture). • HR runs companies and economies. HR society needs everybody’s support and buy-in as their operations impact not just employees but families and communities (The bigger picture). • HR is making headway in proving its value as a strategic partner but we still have a long way to go. • There are great leaders out there. We should be proud. • I had attended to gain a broader perspective on HR and it ticked the boxes. For me, I hope to be able to attend in person. • I attended it to celebrate the efforts that are being made by the HR Fraternity to keep abreast of HR trends. • I attended to gain some knowledge and experience from the people in the industry who have seen and done way more than me, I wanted to learn from the best and the event did just that and more.

Mokoena Moloto Mokoena Moloto is a 28 year old ambitious talent with
over half a decade of experience as a Voiceover Artist,
Presenter, MC and Facilitator and has an incredible work
ethic. She has been trained by renowned trainers such as
Voiceover Giant Weza Matomane, TedX Speaker, Elma Akob and international Actor, Bonko Khoza.
