TopCity Rise There isn’t a more inviting environment for a toddler to get a haircut than Topeka’s newest hair salon, Clipeez! With several years of styling experience and two young children of her own, Amanda Rice opened a salon that isn’t just her dream but is also every kid's dream. They can ride in a fire truck, dash away in a sports car or take flight in a plane all while getting their hair trimmed. Their salon chairs are designed with little kids in mind!

Owner Amanda Rice knew shortly after beginning her career in cosmetology that she wanted to be an entrepreneur some day, but she had to get the timing of it all and the needed experience to make it all work. Amanda has worked for many great companies along the way which has given her a wide variety of skills to round out her experiences. She has experience from Manhattan to Lawrence but most of you may even recognize her from her years here in Topeka at Sport Clips!

One might think that it might be difficult timing for a mom of a toddler and newborn to begin a new business, but it has been smooth sailing for this new business owner; which just solidified that this was the right timing and path for her new journey!

As a mom of two, it’s no surprise that Amanda’s specialty is anything kiddo related. Whether it be perfecting a haircut on a squirmy kid or just helping them feel more at ease with the haircut process, that’s what she is most passionate about. She has also perfected skills in skin fades and styling curly hair.

What drives you during that difficult days?

Amanda ~ “My number one drive is my kiddos. I have an almost 2 year-old boy and a 4 month-old baby boy, and they are my reason for everything! I work hard so they can have the life they deserve! No matter the obstacle, they get me through!”

What do you hope your business will bring to our community?

Amanda ~ “I want Clipeez to bring joy, fun, and unity to Topeka. Kids deserve to receive nothing but love and kindness, and that’s my purpose for this salon! A place for kids, and big kids, to just be themselves and look good doing it!”

What legacy do you hope to leave?

Amanda ~ “I want people to think of Clipeez and think, ‘Wow, they really enjoy what they do!’ Life truly is too short, let’s live it and enjoy the ride!!”

Clipeeze is different from any other salons in our community because it is geared towards serving the kiddos! “We have the funniest chairs, the best cartoons on TV, and the most entertaining waiting room in Topeka! Did I mention we even have a chalkboard wall!?” But don’t let that confuse you, Clipeez is a full-service salon! While they specialize in serving the kiddos, they also provide a full experience for adults as well!
