CAR WASH BEFORE SELLING IT Here’s how you need to go about it after removing the trash and personal items
Start with the Interiors Take the mats out of the car and brush off any dirt. You can then either wash it thoroughly and let it dry or vacuum clean it. For the hard surfaces like doors, steering wheel, gear and hand brake, use an automotive or an allpurpose cleaner. If you have leather seats, use a leather cleaner here. Else, you can use a vacuum cleaner. For Windows and Windshields, use a glass cleaner. Make sure you don’t leave any water spots behind.
Open the Engine Bay To clean the engine, make sure it’s not hot. Tightly seal the caps which contain any fluids. Disconnect the battery from both terminals and cover the sensitive parts. Scrub off the dirt with a brush. Then, wash it with warm water and spray the engine degreaser. Rinse it with a pressure sprayer after 10 minutes. After it dries, wipe it with a microfiber cloth.
Clean the Exterior Use tire and wheel cleaners for the rims and the rubber part of the tire. You can use a brush, sponge or rag to scrub and clean it properly. Thoroughly wash the body of the car with automotive soap. Once it dries, touch up the paint and apply a coat of wax. Once it dries, buff it off. Once you’re done with the Car Detailing, it’s now ready for resale.
