ERIKA BAKER

Erika is part of The Monzo Group, Michigan’s #1 Real Estate Group. She primarily serves the Tri-County area of southeastern Michigan, including the city of Detroit.

When she decided to make a career change and give real estate a try, Erika Baker was already an investor and business owner. She was in the process of purchasing an investment property and running her own cleaning company. When her listing agent hired her to clean some of the properties he managed, he was impressed with her hard work and ambition. He encouraged her to get started in real estate and assured her that she could attain greater levels of success in this line of work.

Erika took his advice and completed her license the very next year. Since then, she’s built a successful career as a REALTOR® while continuing to build her own investment portfolio.

Erika is part of The Monzo Group, Michigan’s #1 Real Estate Group. She primarily serves the Tri-County area of southeastern Michigan, including the city of Detroit. This top-producing group has closed more than 1,000 transactions each of the past two years; Erika personally closed 195 units in 2022. She employs several virtual assistants who support her social media and marketing efforts. Because her clients are investors and sometimes corporations, Erika posts her listings on

LinkedIn where she’s more likely to reach new clients in her niche.

As an agent who specializes in working with investors, Erika is committed to improving her clients’ bottom lines. Working with investors means that there are no emotional ties when evaluating prospective deals: it’s all about the numbers. Erika’s 95% repeat and referral business is a result of her track record. She helps her clients make money. Since commission rates in Michigan are negotiable, Erika is able to give her clients the best possible deal and prioritize their success. It’s no wonder that some of her clients have been working with her for more than a decade.

Helping investors to build their portfolios doesn’t just benefit clients, it also has a positive impact on the community where these properties are located. Erika explained that the non-homestead tax rate in Michigan is 40% higher than a homestead rate meaning that the thousands of investment properties that she has sold support these communities through tax contributions. Erika also gives back to the community through donations to her church and her children’s school. In recent years she has contributed funding for Thanksgiving meals and helped out with the area sock drive.

Erika’s future plan is to continue building her business and real estate portfolio. Her goal is to create multigenerational wealth and leave an inheritance for her children’s children. Erika is committed to contributing to the local community through tax income and providing affordable housing. Through her career in real estate, she is also able to help her clients and build a strong future for her own family. Erika is on a mission to help others achieve success.
