Auditions for Lead, Chorus and Specialist Dancer roles will be held on:
Monday October 21 at Fairholme from 6pm-8:30pm (Boys Lead Audition)
Tuesday October 22 at Fairholme from 6pm -8:30pm (Girls Lead Audition)
Wednesday October 23 Fairholme from 6pm – 8:30pm (Chorus Audition)
CALL-BACKS will be held on Sunday October 27 from 1pm-4pm at Fairholme College.
Details for orchestra and backstage crew will be emailed at a later date to students who register. An alternate rehearsal schedule will be negotiated for orchestra members based on their availability.
The audition process will consist of solo work and group work.
The solo work will consist of:
Choose a character from one of the scripts uploaded to your school platform to read in character. You don’t need to find a partner/group; we will partner you with different combinations on the night. Be prepared for us to ask you to cold read other characters as well.
Prepare a 60 second excerpt of a music theatre, pop or rock song that you feel demonstrates your vocal strength and range. You may perform unaccompanied or bring a backing track loaded on a smartphone. You should also be prepared to do a short vocal range test.
The group work will consist of:
You will be taught a short movement/dance sequence to perform as a group.
You will be taught a song excerpt from the show to sing in a group.
Your audition will be assessed by a panel of the creative staff involved in the musical including the director, music director, choreographer, and others.
Students will be notified by 5pm on Friday, October 25 if they are required for a call back on Sunday, October 27 from 1pm-4pm.
(Please note, if you are not on the call back list, it does not mean you will not be cast.)
Lead roles are open to students from Years 10 – 12 (2025); however, it is important for students to recognise that Lead Roles for Midnight are more suited to older students. There will be scope to include younger students in various cameo singing, dancing, and acting roles throughout the ensemble scenes.
As in previous years, student participation in the co-production incurs a participation levy per student. The levy will go towards a cast T-shirt, all meals during production week, costumes, and incidentals. A fee of $150 will be charged to each student’s term account.
*If you are a boarder, please note these fees will be reduced by $20, as meals have already been funded in your boarding fees.
A rehearsal schedule is mapped out below.
Please read it carefully and make sure you can attend rehearsals as required.
Not all students will be required at all times. A more detailed rehearsal schedule will be released in due course.

Final Celebration Sunday June 15 1pm-3pm
Loosely inspired by the Cinderella story, this ground-breaking and enchanting new tale features Ella, a feisty, funny, and passionate young heroine who doesn’t want or need a so-called Prince Charming.
Enchanted by this alluring stranger, the prince finds himself in uncharted territory and quickly learns that ‘Ella’ is like no other.
Can he prove his worth? Can she ignite his desire for change? Can all be achieved before the magical stroke of MIDNIGHT?
