Itisadelighttoreflectonthis yearandpeerintothenext, doingallthingsforthefame ofGod’sname!!

ThisyearIhavebeen remindedoftheprivilegeof bringingthepowerofthe gospeltobearinevery situation.Thehighs,thelows, thenewendeavours,the challengesandthesimple, joyfulgatheringofthesaints. I’mwithMoseswhenhesays, ‘whoelsehasagodlikeours nearusinallthings’ (Deuteronomy4:7)?

Thisyearhasbeenprettybig. We’veseencontinuedgrowth, continuedtoexploreour buildingproject,advancedour missionfocus,celebrated baptisms,welcomedmanyto TAC,partneredwithClive,run amassiveToonieKidsWeek... thelistgoeson.TheStaff Teamhasdoneextraordinarily welltofaithfullyandsteadily serveTACandourcommunity (whilewe’vebeenafull ministershort!).We’ve welcomedRichonteam(five hoursperweek)tooversee musicministry,we’ve

farewelledJon,whohas voluntarilyservedso wonderfullyovermanyyears, ashenowfocusesonlifeup north,andHannah’srolewas maderedundantinanadmin restructure.Iamthrilledto haveNatalieRayjoiningour teamverysoonand welcomingherfamilytoTAC. Withallthismovement, opportunity,challengeand growth,Ihavebeenreminded ofGod’sgoodnessand sustenance.Imustnot,and wemustnot,letbusyness crowdoutthedelightofbeing childrenofGodandglorifying himinalloflife.

Aswedolifetogetherinthis incrediblechurchfamilyon mission,Icommendtoyou thesewordsfromJudeaswe seektoglorifyGod:

Myroleonstaff,withintheMagnificationTeam,meansIgetto thinkaboutandplanhowweusemusicinourservicesto magnifythenameofJesusandtobringHimglory.I'm passionateaboutthisministrybecausethereissomuch theologicalrichnessinthesongswesingatchurch.Musichasa specialwayofcommunicatingthesegospeltruthsina memorablewayandtoweavetheseintheserviceseachSunday isarealprivilege.Itisagifttobeabletosingpsalms,hymnsand songsfromtheSpirit,withgratitudeinourhearts,toGodand oneanotherandmyhopeisthatthemessageofChristwould trulydwellrichlyamongus(Colossians3:16).

I'dbeenlookingforachurchcommunityforafewyearsafter becomingaChristian.WhenImetsomeonefromTAChanding outEastereggs,Idecidedtothrowmyselfinthedeependand startcomingtoTAC.WhenIarrivedtomyfirstGrowthGroup, therewerenoassumptionsorexpectations,justanopenand welcomingenvironmenttodiscussandsharetheBible,and Jesus'teachings.-Zagriti

Wearealsothankfulforthe manynewcomerswhohave visitedandnowcallTAC home.Overthepastyear,we havesentoutover100 personalinvitestowelcome lunchesandover50adults havecome!

Ourrenewedeffortsin hospitality(morningteasand monthlydinners)have wonderfullydisplayedthatwe reallyarefamily.Welook forwardtomore opportunitieslikethis.

IstillremembermyfirstdayatTACandhowwelcomingthe 10.45amservicewas.Peoplehadstayedbehindtochattome, andtalkedtomeasifIwasalongtimefriend.EvenMike stoppedmeatthegateonthefirstdaytowelcomemeandI've neverexperiencedthatkindofwelcomebefore.AsChristians wevaluecommunityandIfeelthatkindofloveatthischurch.

ThefirsttimeIhelpedoutonournewprocessformorningteas, itwasallabitconfrontingandunknown.But,whenthemorning came,manyhandsreallydidmakelightwork!Godwasgracious tous.Wefoundthatitwasallsomucheasierthanexpected.It waswonderfultoseethebeautyoftheGrowthGroupson display.Sharingfoodeachweekhasbroughtsuchavibrancy andjoytoourgatheringsaswedolifetogether.

Wewenttoacaféandorderedcoffee.Duringthetime,wewereableto haveanin-depthtalkaboutGod.Quiteafewtimes,asIspokeabout Jesus,shesaid:“Ireallyneededthis.”Attheendofourtimetogether shesaid,“Doyouknowwhatyou’vedoneformetoday?You’veinvited meoutforcoffeeandlistenedtomeasI’vetoldyouaboutmylife.No onehaseverdonethis.”Iwasabletoreply,“Thatisjustatinyglimpse ofwhatJesusislike.He’sthere,lovesus,cares,understandsandHewill listentous.”IaskedifIcouldprayforherandsherequestedprayerfor, “EyestoseeJesus.EyestoHisblessings.”

Aftershethankedme,Isaid,“Itisnotmuch,butitisasmallpictureof thekindnessandgenerosityofGodourcreator,whocaresforuswho arenotdeservingofHismercy.”Iwasthenabletofurthersharemore aboutthepersonofJesus.

Care ispartofourvisionforMembership.Belongingtoourchurch familymeanswecareforeachotherwiththeloveofChrist.TheCare Teamexiststohelpsupportusinthisevery-membervision.

COLADAMSON

Wehavebeenreflectingon Titusinthelead-uptoVision Month.Chapter3paintsa remarkablepictureofthe changethatJesusmakesin thelivesofthosetowhomhe hasdisplayedHissaving mercy,endingwiththe practicalapplication(Titus 3:8):“Ourpeoplemustlearn todevotethemselvestodoing whatisgood,inorderto provideforurgentneedsand notliveunproductivelives.”

Note,thereisa“learning”, cultivatingandgrowingin,as thisdoesn’tcomenaturallyto us.The“good”isnotmerelyto helpwithimmediateneeds, buttogrowusallin appreciatingoureternal needs,andthegraceand provisionwehavethroughthe preciouspromisesofGodand thesavingworkofChrist.

Anumberofministryteams havefacedconsiderablestrain thisyear,however;ourkids’ andmusicteamshavebeen particularlystretched. Thispastyearhascontinued toseetheresumptionof more‘normal’churchpatterns andministriesaftera disruptedfewyears.We’re verythankfulforthis!Ithas beenagreatjoy,forexample, tore-explorechurch-wide hospitalityandevents.

One80youthisconstantlyahighlightofmyweek.Wehave around30youthwhocomeeachweektolearnfromGod’sWord andencourageeachotherastheystrivetoliveforGodintheir lives,especiallyatschool.Ihavehadthejoyofmovingaround andjoiningarangeofyouthindiscussiongroupsthisyearandI havebeenespeciallyencouragedbytherangeofthoughtfuland toughquestionstheyhave.Thisterm,we’vedevotedeachweek toaBIGquestionraisedbyouryouthbecausetheyhaveso manygreatquestions!Theyouthreallywanttobethere.They wanttolearnaboutGod,butmoreimportantly,theywantto learnhowtofollowHimwiththeirlives.

Overthepastfewyearswe’ve soughttomakethemostof opportunitiestohelplocal familiestakestepstowards Jesusandstepstowardsour church.

ToonieKidsweekthisyearwas anepictimeofconnecting withourcommunity.Around athirdofthefamilieswho attendedsaidtheydidn’t regularlyattendachurch.TAC familiesandthewhole ToonieKidsTeamdidan excellentjobofconnecting withthesefamiliesduringand evenaftertheweek!Since then,threefamilieshave furtherconnectedwithus. Pleasekeepprayingthat ToonieKidsWeekwouldbea strongpathwaytoconnecting withJesusandourchurch!

AtToonieKids@Play,people keepinvitingtheirfriends!We havehad21newfamilies attendthisyear.Oneweekwe evenhad75adultsand childrenatonetime!Praythat wewouldconnectwelland shareJesuswiththesepeople.

AtSRE,weareconstantly invitingandpointingchildren tojoiningusatchurchon Sundays,butalsoOne80and ToonieKidsWeek.

We’veseensomeexciting thingshappenintheyouth spaceaswell.Wehavea numberofyouthwhoaren’t fromchurchfamiliesregularly attendingOne80andcoming alongtocamp.We’vebeen encouragedbytheboldness ofyoungpeopleininviting theirfriends.OftenanSRE lessonoracarolsconnection willpromptayoungpersonto comealong.

BUILDINGFOR THEFUTURE

Wecurrentlyhaveafeasibilitygroupworkingto exploreouroptionsforthefuturedevelopmentofour site.Thereismuchheretoconsiderandprayover.I’m thankfulfortheKingdomvisionthathasgotusthis far.MayGoduseusmightilyformanyyearstocome aswehumblyserveHim.

Ourchurchhasbeenona steadygrowthtrajectoryfor thelastfewyears–praiseGod! Thisisstretchingusina numberofways(particularlyin kids’andyouthministries).

Overthenext20yearsour areaisexpectedtosee20% populationgrowth.Ifwewere onlytogrowpassivelywiththe localarea,wewouldexpectto see560peoplecallTAChome

by2045.However,ourfocus onoutreachandwelcoming newcomersisseeinggreater growththanthis.

Thechurchhasbeensteadily developedinour135-year historyandwearenow seekingtoenterintothenext chapterofgrowth.Asa church,weneedtoanswer thequestionofhowwewill

beststewardwhatwe’ve receivedtoseeGod’sKingdom continuetogrowhereforthe nextgenerations.

WecurrentlyhaveaDA approvedforanew auditorium.I'mindebtedto theworkoftheSustainable DevelopmentGroup(SDG), whichhasprovidedthe expertiseandtimetohelpus throughthecomplexityof designandDAs.TACispartof apilotprogramwithSDGto helpchurcheswithbuilding projectsandtoleveragesite incomegeneration possibilitiestomakesuch projectsfinanciallyfeasible.A coupleofmonthsago,I draftedapaperoutliningtwo keypossibilitiesmoving forward.

Thereisobviousoverlap betweenaweekdaykids’ programandourministryin thekindofinfrastructurethat isrequiredforboth.Inthelast coupleofmonthsoursitehas beenrezoned,whichmakes thiskindofsiteusagea possibility.Preschoolplaces areinhighdemandinour area.Wehavefounda reputablepreschooloperator passionatetoworkwith churchestoexplorethis possibility.Therearealso significantgovernmentgrants availabletoassist.

Thesecondoptionisthatwe raisethemoneyourselves.To fullyrealisetheprojectas outlinedintheDA,thetotal amountisexpectedtobein therangeof$3.5-4m.This wouldrequiresignificant parishsupportandsacrifice. Wewouldneedtomeasure ourdesiretoextendourselves forsuchacapitalexpenditure campaign.Therearea numberofchurchesthathave beenabletoraisesignificant capitalfromwithinand,in someways,thisoptionisfar simpler.
