We are taking a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination in football. We’re calling on clubs and leagues like your own to report hate, prejudice or discrimination whenever you see it or hear it.
For those people who behave in a racist, sexist or homophobic way, the message is clear. Enough is Enough.
When we know it has happened, we can take the actions needed to remove discriminatory behaviour. We'll be doing so through a range of punishments:
• Players will be removed from play and suspended.
• Teams can have points deducted.
• Grounds can be closed for repeat offenders.
Together we can end hate in football.
Spread the word that discrimination of all forms will be punished. Share with your welfare officers, league and club officials, and everyone across your league and clubs.

Visiting Club History:

Stotfold is a small country town with a population in the region of 9,000. It is situated in the county of Bedfordshire but being near the North Herts border. The first recorded football in the town was 1904, however it is certain that the game was played for a number of years before that. In those early 1900s, Stotfold sides played in the Biggleswade and District League. This was followed by a spell of nearly 30 years in North Herts Football. The first record of a trophy being won was 1911 when Potton were beaten 1-0 in the Biggleswade and District Championship. Stotfold FC was officially founded after WW2 in 1946. In 1951 we joined the South Midlands League Division 2 and in 1953 were promoted to Division 1. Up until 1965 our home ground was located at Hitchin Road Recreation Ground and the club then purchased and developed a meadow named Roker and the ground was aptly named Roker Park which we occupied for 54 years.
The club remained in the South Midlands League for over 30 years winning promotion to the Premier League in 1955 and winning the championship in 1980. Phil Pateman took over from Ian Allinson stepping up after managing the reserves to League champions and Beds Intermediate success. During 1998-2001 under his charge the club won The Beds Senior and Premier Cups, UCL League Cup, and the Hinchingbrooke Cup. The club also reached the last 32 of the FA Vase and the 3rd Qualifying Rd of the FA Cup. Phil stepped down to become Chairman in 2001.
The early 2000s saw challenging times for Stotfold Club after gaining just 11 points from 17 league games and some heavy defeats in season 2006/7. A partnership of Ian Allison and Ian Donnelly took over and with the club staring relegation in the face, Ian recruited several senior players, and the club hauled themselves out of the bottom two, winning 8 of the last 10 games. During the summer of 2007, the squad strengthened further, culminating in the most successful season in the club’s history. Both first and second team squads won their respective league and county cup competitions, (the first club and to date only one to do so), with the second team under John Philbin remaining unbeaten in the league.
The 2010s saw the club move back from the United Counties League to the Spartan South Midlands League in 2010/11. In season 2012/13 Gordon Bickerstaff stood down and Steve Young was appointed as Manager supported by Roy Ryall. After another poor start the first team secured a respectable mid-table position. Steve promoted from within the club, Michael Parkin and Matt Endersby stepping up. The first team turned their season around from being 3rd from bottom of the SSML Premier Division with just 18 points at Xmas, to three cup finals and a semi final place in another. They also moved away from the foot of the table with a further 29 points in the second half of the season. The mid-2010s presented a challenge and following Steve’s resignation in January 2015, Rob Bates stepped up and he managed to mould a team to stave off relegation from the Premier League and finish a creditable 16th. Revised plans were drawn up when an offer to build 60 properties on Roker Park was accepted in return for a stadium being built for us.
The club completely restructured with a merger of Senior & Junior clubs with an ongoing program of inclusive football for a Charter Standard Club comprising of more than 60 teams and 700 participants. So, to the 2020s success off the field being as important as on it. In this regard we were delighted that our former player Luke Gregson agreed to be our manager after a wonderful spell at Baldock. He bought with him Jim Sterling and rebuilt the side. After a slow start the Eagles went on a fantastic run of form winning 14 consecutive league games and seemingly nailed on for promotion before Covid-19 null and voided the season. However not before we won the Beds Senior Trophy beating Stevington 2-0 in the final. Despite, the disappointment 2020 marked a landmark for the club when we moved to our New Roker Park JSJ Stadium
. The £2M Step 4 facility opened its doors on Feb 8th with a home game against Shefford & Campton, and a crowd of 644 witnessed a super game with the Eagles winning 5-3. After 20 years as club chairman Phil Pateman stepped down at the end of season 2020/21 with his vice-chairman of some 4 years Rob Parkin agreeing to take on the role of chairman. We started the new 2021/22 season full of optimism having been re-structured off the field and in the re-structured Division 1 under former players Brett and Paul Donnelly. Joining Brett’s management team is UEFA B licence and FA Coach mentor Eddie McLoughlin. The management team are completed by Michael Parkin (Goalkeeping coach), Ryan Jefferies (Physio) and Roy Ryall with Jon Little, Sean Lyness and Darren Clarke looking after the Development/U18 sides. The season saw unprecedented success with the first team winning Division 1 and promotion
back to the South Midlands Premier Division, the Development team winning Division 1 of the Beds County Football League and promotion to Premier Division and the U18s winning the Nemean Division of the Southern Counties Southern Floodlit League. We started season 2022/23 with the same management teams for the first and development teams and the club had their first ever Women’s team under the management of Tom Olney and Becca Lightfoot playing in the Beds and Herts Woman’s Football League. A new management team of Stuart Lopez and Scott Cretton took over the U18 team. Unbelievably the first team secured back-to-back promotions finishing runners up in the SSMFL Premier Division and winning the play off at Dereham Town 2-0. The women’s team secured promotion to the Premier Division of their league in their first season. Season 2023/24 saw the 1 team play at step 4 in the Southern League Central Division 1 for the first time in the club’s history. In a tough league we were delighted to finish a very creditable 7th. The Development team finished runners-up in the Beds County Football League, gaining promotion to Spartan South Midlands Division 1 a great achievement for a club to have teams at step 4 and step 6. The Women’s team finished third in their first season in the Premier Division and the U18s finished third in the Delphian Division. Sadly, we saw Brett and Eddie move on to take over management roles at Hitchin Town towards the end of the season. We thank them for all the success they brought to the club.

Leverstock Green 2 vs 0 Beaconsfield Town Match Report
After 16 league games without a win, stretching back to August, Leverstock Green finally recorded their third Southern League Division One Central win of the season for a much-needed three points.
With a lengthy injury list and with Tom Georgiou having been recalled by Watford for an U23 game, the Leverstock side was boosted today by the addition of two players signed on dual registration from Chesham United – striker Mitchell Weiss and defender Steve Brown. Freddie Newing stepped up from the reserves to play at left-back.
Visitors Beaconsfield got off to a strong start against the new-look Leverstock defence, with Zidan Akers getting through on goal in the 3rd minute, but Harry Way pulled off a good save. However, a minute later it was Leverstock that took the lead from their first attack of the game. Callum Neal’s pass over the top allowed Weiss to run onto it and produce a classy first time finish, slotting the ball under keeper Tommy Dymott.
The Leverstock side then looked to increase their lead. In the 6th minute Joe McCarthy hit a shot from the edge of the box that flew inches over the bar. Five minutes later Jeffrey Sekyere had a run at goal before laying off to McCarthy, but his shot was saved by Dymott. McCarthy was threatening in the box again in the 18th minute, but was brought down by a challenge from George Brough. The referee pointed straight to the penalty spot, and Sekyere netted the spot kick for his 17th goal of the season and a 2-0 Leverstock lead.
There was another good chance in the 35th minute as good work from Weiss put in Sekyere to pull the ball back for McCarthy, but his shot on the turn came back off the post and George Mitchell-Gears’ effort from
the rebound was saved by Dymott. A minute later Weiss ran clear down the left and crossed for Sekyere, whose header was blocked wide by a defender.
The visitors were reduced to ten men in first half stoppage time when Ollie Turner received a straight red card for kicking out at Mitchell-Gears after a tussle between the two.
Holding onto a lead has been Leverstock’s main problem this season, but on this occasion they were able to maintain their lead and the clean sheet despite a good effort from the ten man Beaconsfield side in the second half. There was a crucial intervention from Brown in the 72nd minute to head the ball off the line with Harry Way stranded out of his goal. There could have been a third goal in the 82nd minute when Weiss crossed for Iker Noguera Leon, but his shot was straight at Dymott, and a minute later Weiss ran at goal himself but shot into the side netting.
The win will be a confidence-booster for the Leverstock side, with further home games to come this week against Biggleswade Town on Tuesday night and Stotfold next Saturday.

Leverstock Green 0 vs 3 Biggleswade Town Match
Report
Leverstock Green were unable to follow up Saturday’s win as visitors Biggleswade Town took away the three points on Tuesday night, although two late goals made the scoreline somewhat flattering for the visitors. Biggleswade started the game strongly, with Harry Way being forced into an impressive double save in the 3rd minute. A goalline block from Steve Brown kept the scores level during a goalmouth scramble in the 15th minute. A minute later Leverstock could have opened the scoring. Marcus Warren found Freddie Newing on the overlap, and Newing’s cross found its way through to Mitchell Weiss at the far post, but his shot was straight at the keeper.
Leverstock seemed to have weathered the early storm, but the visitors then took the lead in the 32nd minute. A shot from the edge of the box was tipped onto the bar by Way, but as the rebound came down, Liam Andrews was quickest to the ball and headed home. Leverstock went close again two minutes later when Ryan Carruthers crossed from the right touchline and Jeffrey Sekyere slid in at the near post to meet it, but his effort was blocked wide by a defender.
As was the case in the first game between the sides, once Biggleswade got in front, they used all sorts of time-wasting tactics in an effort to kill the game at every opportunity. Leverstock made a strong start to the second half, with a shot from Lewis Rolfe bringing out a great save from the keeper in the 57th minute. Leverstock had a good spell of pressure at this point, but it was ended by one of numerous points during the half where the flow of the game was stopped by Biggleswade players going down demanding treatment, requiring the physio to come on.
In the 70th minute Weiss set up a good chance for Carruthers, but he shot over the bar from the edge of the box. Leverstock’s chances were further impacted in the 75th minute when Rolfe was shown a straight red card for a challenge that looked worthy of no more than a yellow
card. There was another near miss in the 80th minute when a cross from Weiss went across the face of goal and just eluded Joe McCarthy. Biggleswade had rarely looked like scoring during the second half, and Leverstock were still in the game as seven minutes of stoppage time were indicated, but in the second minute of stoppages, there was a goal out of the blue as Barsa Mirtahmasebi struck a shot from 20 yards that flew over Way to make it 2-0. Further into stoppage time the visitors were awarded a penalty. Way made a great save to turn the spot kick wide, however Leverstock then conceded a soft third goal as the ball went in at the near post direct from the resulting corner.

Thame United 4 vs 0 Leverstock Green
Leverstock Green slipped into the bottom four of the Southern League Division One Central after a second straight league defeat without a goal. It was a depleted Leverstock squad that took to the field today, with four players making a first team debut over the course of the game. The first half was evenly-contested, but home side Thame took control in the second half.
There was a starting debut for midfielder Jamal Yates, stepping up from the reserves. Leverstock showed some early promise, with a couple of shots blocked inside the box. However, it was Leverstock keeper Harry Way who was first brought into action, tipping a shot from Harry Alexander over the bar.
Two minutes later it was the turn of Thame keeper Matt Crowther to make a great save, turning away a fierce shot from George Mitchell-Gears. There was another good chance shortly afterwards as a long kick from Way was met by hesitation in the Thame defence. Jack Allen nipped in first and sent a lob over Crowther, but it landed just wide.
Having held their own for the opening half hour, Leverstock found themselves behind in the 32nd minute as Louis Walsh was allowed too much time and space to line up a shot from 20 yards into the corner of the net.
Leverstock suffered a further blow just before half time with Mitchell-Gears having to leave the game injured, to be replaced by Princewill Madu, newly-signed from Aylesbury United.
The second half was only seven minutes old when Thame added a second goal, and it was similar to the first one. This time it was Ethan Lack striking a shot from outside the box into the corner of the net.
That largely ended the game as a contest, with Leverstock seldom looking like getting back into it. A third goal arrived in the 69th minute as Alexander received a through ball and slotted a shot past Way. Jack Tutton added the fourth deep into stoppage time with a solo run and shot.
The second half saw first team debuts for youngsters Ollie Grieves and George Eldridge, with the latter delivering a couple of decent crosses as Leverstock looked for a consolation goal.

London Lions 3 vs 2 Leverstock Green Match Report
It was a third straight league defeat for Leverstock in a game that exploded into life in the closing minutes having been largely uneventful up until then.
London Lions are in their first season at Step 4 having followed Leverstock up from the SSML via the play-off route, and they are doing remarkably well at this level. Leverstock had three new players in their line-up today, with goalkeeper Ashton Broome-Alexander, signed from AFC Welwyn, alongside the recently-signed Olesegun Adedipe and Callum Donnelly.
There was little goalmouth action in the early stages of the match, and Leverstock suffered a blow when Nat Connolly had to leave the game injured in the 26th minute after being on the wrong end of a poor tackle, to be replaced by Marcus Warren. The home side took the lead in the 37th minute when Jack Mattey got in behind the Leverstock defence to put the ball across the face of goal, where Solomon Jacobs finished from close range. Leverstock went close to an equaliser three minutes later when Iker Noguera Leon set up Warren for a shot, but it was well saved by home keeper Nathan Bloohn.
There was another good chance for Leverstock in the fourth minute of the second half, as Bloohn could only weakly punch a corner away, but Tommy Boxer’s effort from the loose ball went wide. Other than that, it looked more likely that London Lions would increase their lead, with Broome-Alexander pulling off some good saves to keep his side in the game. However, in the 76th minute the second goal arrived as Adam Burchell shot home from the rebound after Broome-Alexander had saved a shot.
The game looked to be heading for a tame conclusion, but in the 87th minute both sides were reduced to ten men. Callum Donnelly had only been on the field eight minutes when he went into a reckless challenge
on Jake Rinsler, whose retaliation led to players from both sides being involved in a melee. Both Rinsler, who had only been on the field five minutes, and Donnelly were shown straight red cards.
Two minutes into stoppage time an unlikely comeback became possible as Leverstock pulled a goal back. A ball over the top put Jeffrey Sekyere through on goal, and although Bloohn got a hand to Sekyere’s shot, the ball still trickled into the net. Four minutes later Leverstock were awarded a free kick, and brought everyone except Broome-Alexander forward. However, the home side cleared it, and Max Davis broke away to take the ball round Broome-Alexander and finish into an empty net to make it 3-1. There was still drama to come, as Aldo Petagine pulled another goal back for Leverstock with a superb strike into the top corner in the eighth minute of stoppage time, but with the referee blowing for time immediately after the restart, there was no time to find an equaliser.
London Lions (1) 3 (Jacobs 37, Burchell 76, Davis 90+6)

Allenburys Sports 4 vs 3 Leverstock Green Reserves
Leverstock Green Reserves’ run of defeats continued, but there were encouraging signs as they found the net for the first time in four games and were edged out by the odd goal in seven. The returning Luc Dischamps scored twice, and under-18s player Ashton Corder scored on his debut in a 4-3 defeat at Allenburys Sports.

Editor, The Non-League Paper
LIAM Hughes has always been one of those players who is a pleasure to interview.
Part of Cambridge United’s double winners in 2014 – they beat Gosport in the FA Trophy and Hughes scored in the promotion final victory over Gateshead – it feels like he’s been around for ages. Since then he’s had spells at north of the border with Inverness as well as a few more Non-League stops including Barrow, Guiseley and Matlock among others.
Last week he moved to Cleethorpes Town after a hugely successful period helping Worksop Town rise from Step 4 to the National League North with
95 goals in 145 games. He even copped the NLP’s Step 3 / 4 player of the year at our National Game Awards in 2023.
Over the years he’s become a huge outspoken advocate for mental health and trying to help younger players navigate the pitfalls of a football career.
And it’s that bigger impact he highlighted when chatting to us about moving onto Cleethorpes and looking back on his time at Worksop.
“The stats speak for themselves and you don’t get that from an unhappy player but I like to look at the wider picture,” Hughes, who won a promotion-FA Trophy double with Cambridge United in 2014, said.
“The whole community feel, the relationship I had with fans, supporting people with issues on the mental health side that I am a big advocate for.
“I always say this, there is a bigger picture than just a game of football. It’s how you integrate with people, how to communicate with fans and make the whole place feel like you’re all in it together.
“That’s something I want to try and achieve at Cleethorpes as well. I don’t just see myself as a cog in a machine on a football pitch, there is more to what I hope to bring to a football team than just knocking in a goal every now and then.
“It’s bringing people together, sharing success together. Having that impact off the pitch is something I am really excited to try and bring to Cleethorpes." And Hughes is steadfast in his belief of the power of Non-League football and the people involved.
“For me, it’s why you make sacrifices, travel up and down the county,” Hughes said. “Non-League football is the epitome of togetherness. It’s the backbone of English football. Die hard fans who play their hard earned money to support you.
“When you’re trying to achieve things it’s sometimes easy to forget why you do it. Non-League is why we love the game. It brings people together.
“Someone could be going through some of the hardest things in your life and that togetherness on a Saturday or Tuesday night, whatever it may be, is enough sometimes to break the back of some really difficult times.
“It certainly saved my life – having a goal to achieve and work towards with my friends and family supporting me.
“It’s something I am really passionate about. NonLeague football is bigger than just a game. It’s people’s lives, volunteers sacrificing their time to make a football club what it is. If we can repay that a little bit on the football pitch I am absolutely here for it.
“The reason I play the game is for my friends, my family and all the fans who dedicate their lives to the club. That’s not just the Cleethorpes Towns and the Worksops, it’s every Non-League supporter across the country. My hat goes off to you! It’s amazing.”

A few words about KitAid
KitAid is a charity set up by, Derrick Williams MBE, who visited Tanzania on a WaterAid supporters’ trip in 1998. Derrick, being a mad footie fan, was amazed at the reception he received from children and adults in remote villages just because he was wearing one of his favourite football shirts (he follows Watford, Liverpool and Chesham Utd).
After two weeks in Tanzania, a flame was lit in Derrick’s heart, and he was on a mission to provide kit and equipment to the bare-footed children playing with footballs made of tied string and plastic bags. Twenty-one years on, KitAid has lots of volunteers and to date we’ve sent out 900,000+ kits to children and adults in 55 different countries across the world.
How to donate
If you’d like to support the KitAid cause, the easiest way to donate your unwanted football kit, in order for us to find it a new home.
Alternatively, if you don’t have any unwanted kit, but would still like to support us, we’re very grateful for any donations which will help to fund our annual costs as well as support other partnership charities where possible.
We thank you for all your support.
In working in some of the most under-privileged countries around the world, The Football Association is no stranger to seeing the impact the donation of something as simple as a shirt or a pair of shorts can make. KitAid has brought an enormous amount of pleasure and enjoyment to young and old alike through the gift of football kit and has shared the spirit of British clubs and the England team with communities in all corners of the globe. We are proud to be associated with KitAid and wish them all the best in their endeavours for the years to come.

LEVERSTOCK GREEN | LEVELS RISING
It's been a successful journey for Nat Connolly

The story of Nat Connolly’s rise through the levels to go on to make 100 appearances for Leverstock Green is inspiring.
The all-action midfield general had racked up over a century of appearances for Totternhoe at Step 7 by the age of 21 to earn his chance with Green in the summer of 2023.
His determined displays in the engine room of the side helped the club secure promotion into the Southern League where Connolly has thrived over the past 14 months.
“I remember joining the club and worrying that the jump in level would be too much for me,” he admitted to us. “I’d previously
played all of my football at Step 7, so I didn’t know if I would be able to get to grips with Step 5.
“I joined the club not knowing anyone and feeling that I had a lot to prove, but I was made to feel welcome by everyone straight away and that really helped me to hit the ground running.
“With the help and support of those around me, I knuckled down, worked hard and that first season was really memorable as we secured promotion into the Southern League.
“Then the question is can I do it at Step 4? Last season we managed to achieve our objective of staying at this level and I was pleased with the way in which I adapted to the added demands of this level.
“To have reached 100 appearances in just under two and-a-half seasons means a lot. I am proud to have established myself in the team and I’m really enjoying my football amongst some great people.”
Saturday’s 100th game saw Connolly put in an energetic display in a 1-1 draw at Northwood.
“I felt that I played well,” he added. “I try and base my game on energy and I made sure that I kept the levels high. I tried to get forward a bit more and almost nicked a goal at one point.
“We weren’t happy with our first half performance, but we managed to get a grip of things after the break and deservedly equalised. Sadly, it was too little too late in terms of being able to find a winner and we had to be content with a point in the end.
“We know that we need to start turning some of our draws into wins in order to start climbing the table.
“There have already been a few surprise results this season throughout the division; it’s clear that everyone is capable of beating each other and it’s going to be very competitive once more.
“First and foremost our main aim is to survive, but I believe that we can achieve more and there is no reason why we can't improve upon last season’s finishing position. We’ve got a season’s experience under our belt now and we know that we have to pick up as many points as we can early on to give us a base to build on for the second half of the season.
“We seem to perform well against the better teams, but it’s the games against those teams around us where we need to start picking up more points.
“In terms of personal targets, I just want to keep enjoying my football and continue to play regularly.”
A home game against high-flying Ware is next up for Connolly and his team-mates at the weekend.
