Move On – Providing support for The Elms residents into more independent living in shared accommodation.
Resettlement – Supporting clients moving from The Elms or Move On into council, social housing, or private rental.
Foodbank – Providing emergency food parcels and household provisions to local individuals and families.
In the Community – Supporting people in the community during this cost-of-living crisis and helping reduce the need to visit our Foodbank.

Visiting Club History:
The current club was formed in 1926, following several other outfits that had carried the town’s name in earlier years, the first known, Northwood FC, being formed in September 1899, but it is not clear how long they existed. A team called Northwood Rovers played in the Harrow & District League up to the First World War, but a new Northwood FC was launched after the conflict, in September 1919, and soon Emmanuel Northwood were also competing in the Harrow & District League.
The next club to commence was Holy Trinity Northwood, again in the Harrow League, whilst in 1922 Northwood moved to the Uxbridge & District League. However, having lost their first nine fixtures in the second season, Northwood found that they were unable to field a team for later games and the club folded. Around the same time, Emmanuel Northwood also withdrew from the Harrow League.
After two seasons in which just Holy Trinity represented the town on the football field, a few people who had been involved with the two failed set-ups decided to form a new club, and Northwood United was launched for the 1926-27 campaign, with Leslie Faint, secretary of the previous Northwood FC, holding the same post for United. For the first two seasons, just friendly matches were played, apart from entering the Northwood Hospital Charity Cup, but after the second campaign, in which sixteen of the twenty-three games had been won, it was decided to join a league.
Northwood United were elected to Division Two of the Harrow & District League for 1928-29, playing at Northwood Playing Fields, which was adjacent to Haste Hill golf course, at the end of The Drive, Northwood. In the team at that time were young players Joe Gill, Bob Bell and Tom Bell, who would be with the club many years later, even
returning after the Second World War, and the latter also became club secretary.
In their second year the club gained promotion, and twelve months later, further success saw them move up to the Premier Division of the Harrow & District League (later renamed Harrow, Wembley & District League). At that time the club gained the use of a pitch in Northwood Recreation Ground at an annual cost of £14. 14s. including pitch marking and dressing room.
1931-32 saw the commencement of Northwood United’s dominance of local junior football. Within five years of entering league football, United had become Premier Division champions, a feat they repeated for each of the next four years, followed by second and third places up to the War. The League Senior Challenge Cup was won three times during that period, and in 1938 the club won the Middlesex Junior Cup, having been losing finalists in 1935 and 1936.
After the Second World War, with the disappearance of Holy Trinity Northwood, the club dropped the “United” suffix from their title, and were Harrow & Wembley champions in consecutive years, 1948 and 1949.
After being a mid-table side in the Premier Division throughout the ‘fifties, the club hit a slump in the early 'sixties, suffering a first-ever relegation in 1962, and they became something of a yo-yo side for a few years, but towards the end of the 1960s things improved. Northwood were elected into the Middlesex League in 1970, and they became runners-up at the end of their second season.
After playing in the main park since 1931, the mid-seventies saw the Woods develop an area of rough land into their present ground with suitable facilities, and further developments have been carried out regularly since.
The Woods won the Middlesex League Cup on three occasions and also the League championship in 1978, completing the Middlesex League double, and the club were subsequently elected to the Hellenic League. In the first season they were promoted to the top flight as Division One champions and Hellenic League Division One Cup winners. Northwood
also lifted the Middlesex Intermediate Cup by beating Feltham 2-1 – the club’s first County Cup success for forty-one years. Floodlights were erected and senior status was granted in 1981.
Due to large travelling costs, Northwood switched to play in the London Spartan League in 1984 and they were soon to become one of the competition's top clubs. After one League Cup win, a runners-up spot and two third places, the Woods completed a League and Cup double in 1992. Along with this success came considerable ground improvements, which allowed them to be promoted to the Isthmian League, Division Three.
After five years at the higher level, following early success by winning the 1993 Associate Members Trophy, and several promotion challenges, Northwood made it to Division Two in 1997. Following three seasons in that division, the Woods earned further promotion when they gained the runners-up spot in 2000. They also captured the Associate Members Trophy for a second time and reached their first ever Middlesex Senior Cup final, where they went down 2-0 to GM Vauxhall Conference outfit Hayes.
Another three years later and Northwood found themselves in the Premier Division, having won the Division One North championship in 2003. They also captured the Isthmian League Cup for the first time in 2002, beating Premier Division Hampton & Richmond Borough in the final, 3-2 after extra-time, and also reached the Middlesex Senior Cup final once again, this time beaten in extra-time by Hendon.
September 2002 saw the Woods defeat Premier Division champions Gravesend & Northfleet 4-2 to lift the Isthmian Charity Shield. It proved a difficult first season in the Premier Division, but after an F.A. restructure of non-League football, Northwood remained in the division for a second season.
In 2003, Northwood received the prestigious award of Community Club status from the Football Association in recognition of the club's commitment to youth football in the area – the club have teams of all age groups playing their football within the confines of Northwood Park. Improvements have been made to the standards in recent years,
and the club is hoping this will result in many youngsters developing into first-team players in the future.
Northwood faced a new challenge for the 2005-06 campaign, having been moved to the Southern League Premier Division, and although the first season in the new league was a struggle, the team avoided the drop on the final day. However, 2007 saw the Woods finish in 22nd place in the division, and relegation followed – the first time the club had faced demotion in senior football. It wasn't all doom and gloom, though, as Northwood lifted the Middlesex Senior Cup for the first time in their history by defeating Hayes, of the Conference South, on their own ground in the final.
Having been moved back to the Isthmian League for the 2007-08 campaign, and after spending three years in Division One North, Northwood were then transferred again to the Southern League Division One Central in 2010-11. Their first season was a struggle but they successfully avoided relegation after a bright finish to the campaign and in 2012 under new manager Gary Meakin, it proved much more successful, only missing out on a play-off place on the final day of the season.
The following season was boosted by an FA Cup run to the third qualifying round while a forced change of manager saw the Woods have to rebuild the squad so a mid-table finish was very acceptable. Mark Burgess had successful full seasons in charge, surpassing expectations by finishing ninth, tenth and then seventh respectively. There was also success in cup competitions, reaching the League Cup semi-final in 2016 before losing on penalties to Merthyr Town and then winning the Middlesex Senior Cup for the second time in the club’s history with a 2-0 victory over Ryman Premier side Enfield Town. However, 2016/17 was more of a struggle after losing most of the successful side to a higher level and relegation was only just avoided.
Since then, a series of managers have come and gone quickly and Scott Dash, who was appointed permanently in December 2018 following a successful spell as caretaker only lasted just under a year after a series of poor results saw another change and the arrival of Jamie Leacock to the role. Jamie’s tenure was ended in January 2020
after a run of ten successive defeats and former player Robert Ursell was placed in charge. His time was interrupted by the Covid Pandemic and then resigned his position in April 2021.
The new man to steer the Woods to a more competitive position in the Isthmian League was to be former Ashford Town (Middx) boss Ben Murray but after the club’s worst start ever to a season, he was replaced in November 2021 by Director of Football Steve Ringrose and Head Coach Ben Bukowski along with Player-Coaches Andy Lomas and Keagan Cole. Their impact was instant, winning a club record eight away games in succession, a run that lifted the side to the safety of mid-table. The improvement continued in the 2022/23 season, leading the South-Central division for several months before eventually qualifying for the end-of-season play-offs for the first time in the club’s history.
Though they were beaten 2-1 at eventually promoted side Walton & Hersham, it had been their best season for some time. The Woods were unable to match that success last season with a bad run of form seeing them struggle near the relegation zone briefly. At the end of the season Bukowski left the club to take over at Harrow Borough and the experienced former professional midfielder Scott Donnelly was appointed to his first managerial role as the club were also transferred back to play in the Southern League. After a very poor start to the season, Donnelly left the club in September 2024. After a month of an interim management team, Gary Meakin returned to the club in October 2024 for his second spell at the club but this came to an end in late March as he resigned his position.
Two senior players, Jack Smith and Jon-Jo Bates volunteered to step up take over for the final month of the season and it was a remarkable turnaround that saw the club survive relegation and the club were pleased to confirm that the duo agreed to continue for the 2025-26 season. That role came to an end in January 2026 and just before the end of February, the club have announced Tommy Cooney as their new manager for their Centenary year.

Mohamed Ali – Mo is a 24-year-old striker who has stepped up from Hilltop at Step 5 to join the Woods in March 2026. He had a short spell playing in Bosnia & Herzegovina side Zvijezda Gradačac in 2024 and had previously played for Wallingford & Crowmarsh.
Arel Amu – Arel is an experienced forward, now 30, who has joined the club from Crawley Green. He started out at Luton Town and amongst his previous clubs are St. Neots Town, Hemel Hempstead, Kings Langley, Kempston Rovers, Risborough Rangers and Arlesey Town.
Tahjae Anderson – Experienced striker who has joined the Woods in March 2026 for the final run-in from Chertsey Town. The well-travelled 26-year-old lists Hendon, Dover Athletic, Ebbsfleet United, Bromley, South Park, Beckenham Town, East Grinstead Town, Hungerford Town, Burgess Hill Town and Egham Town as former clubs.
Henry Atkinson – Youngster, part of the Woods current U18s side, who made his first-team debut in August 2025. Just turned 18, he has also picked up experience at Step 6 with Oxhey Jets and looks to have a bright future.
Sakeel Balfour Brown – 22-year-old wide player who came to the Woods on dual-registration from Harrow Borough in March 2026. He started out in Australia, playing for Newcastle Jets U21s, Lampton Jaffas and Valentine Phoenix. Has also played for Barking and Kempston Rovers.
Alie Bangura – Experienced attacker who joins the Woods in March 2026 from Arlesey Town having previously played for Berkhamsted, Leverstock Green, FC Romania, Leighton Town and Risborough Rangers amongst others.
Stephane Bombelenga – An experienced attacker, Stephane joined the Woods in December 2025 on dual-registration from British Airways FC having finished last season at Harrow Borough. The 27-year-old started out as a
youth at Ipswich Town and has also played for Eastbourne Borough at Step 3 and abroad in Poland with Sportis Lochowo and Ghana with Legon Cities.
Mohammed Diaby – Well-travelled midfielder who signed for the Woods following short spells at Frenford, East Grinstead Town and Chislehurst Glebe this season while previous clubs include Hertford Town, AFC Welwyn, Waltham Abbey and Royston Town.
Freddie Ford – Promising young attacking midfield player, only 17, who has been impressing for the Woods Under-18s side since March 2024. He’s in double figures for the youth side and has already scored a couple of times for the first team.
Kieron Lake-Bryan – Young defender who has represented Anguilla as an International, joined Northwood from Dorking Wanderers in March 2026 having previously played for Edgware & Kingsbury.
Bryan Mankumbani – 23-year-old defender who played at Welling United as a youth but arrived at the Woods in September 2025 having previously played In Jamaica for Montego Bay and Treasure Beach and in Croatia for NK Sokadija.
Richie Mbele – Midfielder who joined the Woods from Hendon in March 2026. The 25-yaer-old’s previous clubs include AFC Wimbledon, Merstham and Farnham Town.
Andrew McCorkell – Experienced goalkeeper who first had a spell with the Woods in 2017 after release from MK Dons where he picked up representative honours for Northern Ireland U19s. He had already made appearances for Hendon and Chesham United. In more recent years he has had spells with Beaconsfield, Hayes & Yeading, Chalfont St Peter and Bedfont Sports before joining the Woods in 2022. Ever-present and voted in the League’s team of the season, he then returned to Northwood after a brief spell at Uxbridge before joining Harrow Borough in 2024.
Hamza Miezou – Hamza has joined the Woods from Edgware & Kingsbury and the 30-year-old has played for a number of other clubs in the local area such as Harefield United, Hillingdon Borough, London Tigers, St Panteleimon and Amersham Town.
Mack Miskin – Left-back Mack originally joined the Woods back in 2019 having previously played for Staines Town. He made 14 appearances and the 24-year-old returned to the club in July 2025 from Harrow Borough having also played for Hanwell Town and Braintree Town while having loan spells at Saffron Walden Town, Brightlingsea Regent and Marlow. He then left for a brief sojourn with Hayes & Yeading before returning in December 2025.
Andrew Osei-Bonsu – Experienced defender, who joined the Woods in March 2026 from Arlesey Town. Former clubs include Wealdstone, St Ives Town, Billericay Town, East Fife, Larne and Dunstable Town. Has been made Club Captain.
Seth Patrick – 25-year-old Seth has arrived at the Woods from Hanwell Town while he has played at United Counties League side Clay Cross Town this season. A strong midfielder, he is a Zimbabwean Under-23 international and has also seen service with East Fife and Brechin City in Scotland having been in the academy at Northampton Town and played in Germany as a youngster.
Hamid Seisay – Young midfielder who has come to Northwood from fellow Southern League side Stotfold having been at Rotherham United as a youngster. Has also played for Walthamstow.
Aidan Tarrant – Another of the Woods talented current Under-18s side of which Aidan captains from the heart of the central defence. He has had a few run outs as substitute for the first-team and could certainly be one for the future.
Nathan Tormey – Nathan is a former Arsenal Academy prospect, an attacker who joined the Woods in March 2026 from Step 3 side St Ives Town.

Leverstock Green 3 vs 1 London Lions
Leverstock Green recovered from a shaky start to record their fifth straight win in the Southern League Division One Central.
Things started badly when Jack Allen, scorer of five goals in the last four games, picked up a foot injury when landing awkwardly after his first touch of the ball. Allen tried to play on, but eventually had to leave the game in the 10th minute to be replaced by Joe McCarthy. By that time Leverstock were already a goal down.
In the 7th minute a pass over the top from Max Davis put Jack Mattey through on goal. Ashton Broome-Alexander pulled off a great save to keep out Mattey’s shot, but Carmicheal Uchenna was running back towards goal and the rebound struck him in the face and rebounded back into the net for an own goal. Uchenna required treatment at the same time Allen was still struggling.
When the game restarted the visitors were rampant and could have added more goals. Davis hit a shot from the edge of the box just over the bar in the 10th minute, and two minutes later Joe Leslie was through on goal but hit his shot across goal and wide. Leverstock eventually got into the game, and should have equalised in the 18th minute. Callum Neal’s cross dropped for Jeffrey Sekyere, who took the ball in his stride but hit his shot over the bar.
Having neutralised the early threat of Mattey and Leslie, Leverstock were on top during the latter stages of the first half and eventually found their equaliser in the 41st minute. It was a superb goal, as Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica’s pass split the defence perfectly to find McCarthy, who only needed one touch as he dinked the ball over the oncoming keeper into the corner of the net.
The scores were level at the break, and it was the visitors who had the first chance of the second half as Austin Lipman got on the end of a through ball in the 53rd minute and sent a lob over Broome-Alexander, but it landed just over the bar. Leverstock then had a good chance to take the lead in the 59th minute. A pass from Marcus Warren put McCarthy through on goal. His shot was kept out by keeper Nathan Bloohn, and Bloohn also saved Sekyere’s effort from the rebound.
A finely-balanced game eventually went Leverstock’s way with fifteen minutes left. After a patient build-up with several passes around the penalty area, Iker Noguera Leon threaded the ball through to Uchenna, who drilled a shot past Bloohn to score at the right end and put Leverstock into the lead. Two minutes later Leverstock were threatening again. A cross from the right went just over McCarthy’s head, and the clearance only went as far as the edge of the penalty area, where Leon met it and lashed a fierce first time shot low past Bloohn to make it 3-1 to Leverstock.
The win took Leverstock over the 50 point mark and moved them up to 14th in the table, with potential to go still higher over the remaining two games.

Leverstock Green made it an amazing six wins in a row as they travelled to Ware for their final away game of the season and came away with a fully-deserved 2-0 win.
It was a strong start from the Leverstock side who could have taken the lead in the second minute. Carmicheal Uchenna’s cross went across the face of goal, before Iker Noguera Leon retrieved the ball and set up Ademide Baruwa for a shot which went just wide. Leon could have had a goal himself in the 7th minute as a slip from a defender left him clean through on goal, but his shot was well saved by home keeper Fred Burbidge. Two minutes later Leverstock had a corner, which Uchenna played short to Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica, whose shot from a narrow angle brought a superb one-handed save out of Burbidge. However, seconds later a pass from Uchenna put Joe McCarthy clean through, and McCarthy slipped the ball past Burbidge to put Leverstock into an overdue lead, despite protests for offside from the Ware players.
Leverstock continued to impress. In the 14th minute McCarthy got on the end of a long kick from Ashton Broome-Alexander and played in Stefanoaica, who could have had a go instead but backheeled to Leon, who slipped at the vital moment but still recovered to hit a shot just wide. Broome-Alexander was brought into action in the 29th minute to turn away Leigh Rose’s header from a corner. Leverstock then broke away to win a corner of their own. Leon chipped the corner to the near post where Uchenna came in unchallenged to meet it with an absolute bullet of a header into the top corner of the net to put Leverstock 2-0 up.
Ware might have pulled a goal back in the final minutes of the first half, but Samuel Kifwasima-Mayuma shot just over the bar after BroomeAlexander had punched away a corner in the 43rd minute, and shot wide from a good chance in stoppage time.
Leverstock could have added further goals in the second half.In the 49th minute a pass from Uchenna put Jeffrey Sekyere through on goal, but
Sekyere seemed caught in two minds between aiming for the bottom corner and passing to Leon coming in at the far post and put it inbetween the two and wide. Three minutes later Baruwa played in Uchenna, who hit a fierce shot which brought another good save from Burbidge.
In the 58th minute McCarthy outstripped a defender down the left flank and sent over a low cross which just eluded the boot of Sekyere. A great shot from McCarthy brought an equally impressive save from Burbidge in the 74th minute. Five minutes later Stefanoaica had a run into the box but shot over the bar.
At the other end Broome-Alexander was dealing with all that Ware could throw at him, and in the end the two goals proved enough for another superb result which lifts Leverstock further up the table to 13th, with the possibility of a top half finish still alive with one game to play.

There was a hat-trick for George Eldridge as Leverstock Green Reserves came from behind to beat OIR 4-3, a win which takes them above the visitors who are now in the relegation zone in the Herts Senior County League Premier Division. Callum Moore scored the other goal.

AMIDST the highs and the lows, the thrills and the spills, of another spell-binding Non-League season, it all boils down to this.
Thirty-eight weeks of action, through the wind, rain, sleet and snow, and now just 90 minutes remain before the final whistle is blown on a captivating campaign.
Ever since Cobham FC became English football’s first champions of 2025-26 by waltzing to the Combined Counties Premier South title on March 10, champagne corks have been popping up and down the country with managers, players and supporters alike celebrating joining the Non-League Roll of Honour.
But the elite list of title winners is yet to be complete with plenty of honours still left to play for as we enter this final Saturday of the regular season.
None more so than the most coveted accolade of them all in the Non-League game.
The Rochdale versus York City title decider in the National League has been dubbed as Non-League football’s greatest ever showdown with this afternoon’s Spotland winner earning their place back in the Football League. A draw will see York City progress by two clear points.
For the loser, though, it’s the unenviable task of picking themselves up for the play-offs, despite amassing well over 100 points.
And as York proved last season after racking up 96 points before bombing out 3-0 at home to eventual winners Oldham Athletic, that’s not easy.
This year’s play-off places in the National League may already be settled but the battle is still on for a vital home draw in the Eliminators.
Last Saturday’s 3-0 win at Morecambe ensured Luke Garrard’s Boreham Wood are assured of one, while Scunthorpe United can clinch the other with victory over Eastleigh this afternoon.
Just like 12 months ago, resurgent Southend United are in the mix, with they and Robbie Savage’s Forest Green Rovers battling for sixth place.
Perennially, National League North and South tend to go down to the wire and it’s no different this year with both the title – and promotion places – very much up for grabs in both.
In the North, South Shields’ failure to beat Bedford Town at home last Saturday could prove crucial as AFC Fylde regained top spot by two clear points and a twogoal better goal difference, courtesy of their 4-0 win over Southport.
Both face tough away games this afternoon – leaders AFC Fylde at play-off chasing Merthyr Town, the Mariners at Kidderminster Harriers, who are assured of third place and a home play-off semi-final.
Who they play, though, is anyone’s guess with as many as six teams vying for the remaining three play-off places.
Worthing’s promotion party was royally spoiled by Maidstone United last Saturday, but the Rebels still lead the way in the South by a single point from Hornchurch
ahead a swashbuckling final game against Ebbsfleet United today.
Another crunch clash sees Weston-super-Mare host Dorking Wanderers in a tense battle for a home play-off final which involves no fewer than SEVEN teams. Maidstone, in ninth, are still in with a shout under departing manager George Elokobi following their 2-1 win over leaders Worthing last week.
The top of NPL Premier is just as exciting with FC United of Manchester’s shock 1-0 home defeat by Hyde United last Saturday ensuring that Hebburn Town or Hednesford Town can clinch the automatic promotion spot with victory this afternoon.
Their shock home defeat came just 24 hours after the Red Rebels were granted permission to stage Tuesday night’s rearranged visit of Stockton Town at their Broadhurst Park home despite an initial Northern Premier League ruling that the potentially-crucial game should be played at Curzon Ashton’s Tameside Stadium.
As it is, Hebburn, with a five-goal better goal difference than the Pitmen, host Rushall Olympic sat firmly in the driving seat, while Hednesford entertain Ashton United.
Stockton, Lancaster, Gainsborough Trinity and Leek Town are vying for the final available play-off spot.
With the Isthmian Premier play-off spots settled, all eyes are on the Southern League Premier Central where five clubs are looking to join Spalding United and Real Bedford in the play-offs in a bid to join champions Harborough Town at Step 2 next season.
Premier South is as far less complicated with Berkhamsted needing just a point from their visit of relegation-threatened Weymouth to seal the final play-off place.
In the Northern Premier League at Step 4, Anstey Nomads take a two-point lead at the top of the NPL Midlands division over Carlton Town into the final day, while Emley, Bradford PA and Pontefract Collieries are battling it out for play-off places in the East, looking to go up with champions Redcar Athletic.
Bury FC attracted a crowd of over 7,000 for their visit of Witton Albion last Saturday – and they’ll be another sizable number when they make the trip to Atherton Collieries this afternoon with the title in their sights.
Avro will be looking to capitalise on any slip-up when they entertain Darlaston Town, while Lower Breck, Bootle and Vauxhall Motors lock horns for the last remaining play-off spot.
In the Isthmian League, a four-way play-off battle has developed in the North with Bowes & Pitsea, Redbridge, Gorleston and Wroxham all in the running, while Faversham Town are ready to pounce on any Sittingbourne slip-up in the South-East. The Brickies need just a point from their visit of VCD Athletic to be assured of a play-off spot, while VCD will bring the curtain down on 110 years of history when the Crayfordbased side play their final game as a senior football club.
In the Southern, Thame United need a point to secure the final play-off spot in Division One Central, denying Hertford Town, likewise Shaftesbury in the South with Bishops Cleeve hovering.
The play-offs are already underway in many leagues at Step 5 and 6 – and promotion parties already underway.
Beverley Town became the first play-off winners of 2025-26 after edging out Tadcaster Albion to win
promotion from the Northern Counties East League Premier last Saturday.
And there are number of big knockout games in action this afternoon, notably a huge Northwich derby between Victoria and 1874 in the Midland League, and the conclusion of the Combined Counties League Premier South promotion race when Fleet Town host Horley Town in a battle of fourth versus fifth.
A breathless end to a rollercoaster season. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

It's been a successful journey for Nat Connolly
The story of Nat Connolly’s rise through the levels to go on to make 100 appearances for Leverstock Green is inspiring.
The all-action midfield general had racked up over a century of appearances for Totternhoe at Step 7 by the age of 21 to earn his chance with Green in the summer of 2023.
His determined displays in the engine room of the side helped the club secure promotion into the Southern League where Connolly has thrived over the past 14 months.
“I remember joining the club and worrying that the jump in level would be too much for me,” he admitted to us. “I’d previously
played all of my football at Step 7, so I didn’t know if I would be able to get to grips with Step 5.
“I joined the club not knowing anyone and feeling that I had a lot to prove, but I was made to feel welcome by everyone straight away and that really helped me to hit the ground running.
“With the help and support of those around me, I knuckled down, worked hard and that first season was really memorable as we secured promotion into the Southern League.
“Then the question is can I do it at Step 4? Last season we managed to achieve our objective of staying at this level and I was pleased with the way in which I adapted to the added demands of this level.
“To have reached 100 appearances in just under two and-a-half seasons means a lot. I am proud to have established myself in the team and I’m really enjoying my football amongst some great people.”
Saturday’s 100th game saw Connolly put in an energetic display in a 1-1 draw at Northwood.
“I felt that I played well,” he added. “I try and base my game on energy and I made sure that I kept the levels high. I tried to get forward a bit more and almost nicked a goal at one point.
“We weren’t happy with our first half performance, but we managed to get a grip of things after the break and deservedly equalised. Sadly, it was too little too late in terms of being able to find a winner and we had to be content with a point in the end.
“We know that we need to start turning some of our draws into wins in order to start climbing the table.
“There have already been a few surprise results this season throughout the division; it’s clear that everyone is capable of beating each other and it’s going to be very competitive once more.
“First and foremost our main aim is to survive, but I believe that we can achieve more and there is no reason why we can't improve upon last season’s finishing position. We’ve got a season’s experience under our belt now and we know that we have to pick up as many points as we can early on to give us a base to build on for the second half of the season.
“We seem to perform well against the better teams, but it’s the games against those teams around us where we need to start picking up more points.
“In terms of personal targets, I just want to keep enjoying my football and continue to play regularly.”
A home game against high-flying Ware is next up for Connolly and his team-mates at the weekend.
